A Christmas Card for my Stash and to Use Some of my Hoarded Papers...

Good morning everyone and welcome.  I've decided I will enter this in a couple of challenges...Peace on Earth Christmas and the Love Those Pretty Papers challenges.  Like many of you I have looking around in my craftroom and I'm seeing all these paper collections that really need to be used.  They are doing no one any good just sitting here collecting dust.

I have made an Interlocking Fun Fold Card and have managed to use quite a bit of paper.  I'm sorry but I have no idea the name or the company of this pretty paper pack but it has been here for such a long time.  I forgot I had it...so it needed to be cut into!

The inside of my card once it has been unfolded.  I love this design and it is such a pretty presentation!

Well my friends it is Friday and soon the weekend will be upon us!  Enjoy!

Butterfly Happiness Card...

Good morning friends and welcome to my blog.  It's kinda dry and dusty here on my blog so I'm trying to get rid of some of the spider webs and add a card here and there.  It's also a chance to share a card I made for the Love Those Beautiful Papers Challenge.  Like many of you I am a hoarder of pretty papers and find there are so many sitting in my craftroom just begging to be used.   Here is my card:

This is just one of the pretty card fronts from Heartfelt Creations and one of the tags cut out of the paper pack!  It is a very quick and easy card...it doesn't even have glitter added.  Such a fun card that reminds me of a walk in the garden!

Well that does it for me...I'm off to start my day!

Love Those Pretty Papers Challenge...

Hello my friends and welcome to my blog!  I'm here to play along in the very first challenge over at Love Those Pretty Papers Challenge .  These ladies must of been thinking about many of us.  I love pretty papers, I'm a hoarder, I admit it!  So this challenge is going to be such fun for me!  Having been on card making design teams for many years, I have lots and lots of papers just sitting here begging to be usesd.  I'm going to get back into making cards for the nursing home and for family and friends.  I have been sitting back doing very little in the way of card making so today I begin a new chaper in my crafting world.

The design of my card was copied from here:  https://youtu.be/xUCTCq-eD18  Jackie Bolhuis at Klompen Stampers made this video of making this card.  Thank you Jackie!

When the card is opened there is a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" spot for another pretty piece of designer paper.  These papers are from Heartfelt Creations and they are notorious for having gorgeous papers to play with!

Well this does it for me today!  I hope you like my card, it was a lot of fun to make.  I just love fun fold cards!

A New Card to Share.....Beautiful Blossoms Challenge...

Good morning my friends and welcome.  It is so very hot here in East Tennessee...we have had 90 degrees and feels like 100 or so with lots of humidity.  I'm beginning to feel like I'm living in a cave with doors closed and blinds drawn against the heat.  We are not able to enjoy anything outside for several weeks and it doesn't look like we are in for any relief in the near future.  The grass is brown and crunchy and the poor birds have been really using the bird baths.

I'm here this morning to share a little card I made using new dies from Crafters Companion and a little butterfly from my good friend Olga!   It is a quick and easy card that can be mailed with 1 stamp which is a very good thing! I'm entering this one in the Beautiful Blossoms Challenge.

The little butterfly actually covers a boo boo I made with some green ink.  There is always a way around our mistakes and most people are none the wiser.

I hope you enjoy this as I have really enjoyed making it! Thanks Olga for the sweet butterfly stickers!

A Birthday Card for the Double D Challenge.....

Good morning my friends.  Don't faint.. it is well and truly me back with a new card I have made for a friend and also to enter in the Double D Challenge.  Things have been a little crazy around here with lots of yard work and housework and dog work etc...  You know the drill and since it's just me here it all lands in my lap.  Just about the time I have it all under control it starts to rain again.  I'm really trying not to whine but my craft time is almost zero!

I had a friend's blog pop up in my side bar this morning and she reminded me I should enter the new challenge over at  Double D Challenges.  The theme this time is:  Pick three ..... Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed or Blue

My card has Something Old, Something New, and Blue.  The old is  paper from the Heartfelt Creations Wilderness Retreat Collection.  The New is the string and the paper is blue.  I just love this sweet little bunny and the card is a new to me fancy fold with the corner pocket.  The tag opens up and you can write a sentiment inside.  I love being able to write something personal inside my cards.

Hello Friend...

Hello friends and welcome!  Today I'm here to share a little card to just say hello!  I always love to send this kind of card to my family and friends and it is a good one to go to the nursing home as well.  It is not very heavy or thick and should go nicely with just one first class stamp.  I have gotten so I save the cards that have very dimensional flowers on them and send them on special occasions only.  It's hard for me to spend almost $5.00 to mail a card!

I'm also going to enter this in the Can You Handle The Pressure Challenge.  I love playing along in this one as it allows me to use some of my embossing folders.

I used the Altenew Decorative Florals 3D embossing folder and colored with a Soft Pale Pastel chalk. The centers of the flowers and the leaves are pale green and the flower petals are pale pink.  I think it is so soft and pretty.  It did not photograph well and is much more lovely in person.  So here again I'm showing how lacking I am when it comes to photography!  The Sentiment is from Heartfelt Creations and it is perfect for what the card needs to say.

Pretty Florals....

Good afternoon everyone!  I hope you are well.  I have been making Lilies and this is one of the cards I made using them.  I am going to enter this into the Double D Challenge as this challenge is Pretty Florals for Mom.  Actually anything goes as long as you feature florals.  So I thought what better way to play along than with this card.

All products on the card are from Heartfelt Creations and made with lots of love!

I had so much fun making the Lilies and filler flowers and wound up making 4 cards and this is one of them.  I hope you like it!

Spring Florals...

Good morning everyone!  I've been kinda quiet lately and it's because life is just in the way.  No illness, or other problems just things that have to happen and there is only me to take care of business.  Spring clean-up outside has been a bear and it is taking me awhile to get things ready to be on my porches.  Our weather is very East Tennessee right now...80 degrees and one day later 45 degrees.  Yesterday it was windy with a chance of snow!  I have also been trying to learn about my new Cricut machine my sister gifted me and let me just say this old lady is struggling but I am slowly learning.

Yesterday I actually made a card by hand with handmade flowers and all!  I will be entering it in the  Can You Handle The Pressure Challenge.

I used papers from Heartfelt Creations Floral Butterfly Collection, the Embossing Folder is Crafters Companion Pretty Florals and then just various flowers from my Heartfelt Creations stash.  I hope you enjoy this card!

New Direction....

My kind hearted sister just bought me a new Cricket Explore Air 2 machine and I am slowly learning the  mechanics of the machine.  It will be a slow go for this old girl!  I found a cut file from Jennifer Maker and cut it and it made a gorgeous card but I just felt like it needed something.  A flower maker always feels like it just needs a few flowers to make it complete!

I hope you enjoy as I think it turned out so well!  Jennifer Maker makes it so easy for us beginners and I truly love her designs!

New Split Front Cards for my Stash...

I have recently begun the huge task of using up some of the massive hoard of pretty  papers I have accumulated over the years.  As you might suspect the majority of the hoard is Heartfelt Creations but I opened a drawer yesterday and found a stack of Graphic 45 8" X 8" paper pads.  These two split front cards were made using the video you can find here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7mK-szgV9o   by Patti Dolan.  I now have my pattern so I can now make these pretty cards whenever I want.  Both of the cards I'm sharing are using the Graphic 45 Sweet Sentiments from long ago and far away.

I have been following Leslie Miller at Running with Scissors for many years and she has been sharing this lovely design.   She sparked my interest with the beauty of her cards and of course I had to go in search from my own pattern to use myself.  Thank you Leslie!

I had two sheets of this paper...flowers on one side and dots on the other so I just cut enough to make two cards.  The florals are from Heartfelt Creations Summer Wreath Accents.  And here is my second card...

Both my cards lie flat for mailing with one stamp and this makes me very happy!  I hope I can inspire you to  use this design for making your cards as they are so easy and do pack a punch!

New Die in The House...

I just purchased a new die to use with my cardmaking and I have to say I love it!  The one die cuts the whole card base with score marks and you just fold and add pretty paper and your card is ready to go. The die came from Temu...many people don't like this company but I find their craft supplies are pretty good and dirt cheap.  Here is my first card ready for the mail.

And the next photo is the inside of the card:

The papers are from the Heartfelt Creations Sweet Magnolia Collection and those sweet little flowers are from my stash.  When I make flowers for a card the ones i don't use go in a big container and I find lots of goodies in there these days! The card uses magnets to keep it closed so it will have it's best foot forward at all times.  I think I'm in love and you will be seeing this die used again and again!

Best Wishes...

In my never ending quest to make cards that are able to mail with a single first class stamp, here is my next offering for you.

My card is a 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 tent fold card made by using only Heartfelt Creations Tulip Time papers.  Quick and simple and ready to go!

Now I'm off to start my day!

A Quick Card to Say Hello.....

This will be sent for a special Hello as it will cost a bit to mail.  I save these for when I need to send someone a special card.

I used Heartfelt Creations for all but the sentiment.  The flowers were some that I already had made up and in a box and I can't remember all the collections.  Just start with one of the pretty dies and build the card from there!

This one just makes me happy!  I love all the flowers and they remind me of Spring.  We have been having warming weather and Spring is definitely in the air!

Well that's it for me.  I'm off for a cup of coffee...have a great Monday!

Card of Encouragement...

Good morning my friends.  I'm here this morning to share with you a quick card of encouragement made with all Heartfelt Creations products.  A 5 X 7 card using  Butterfly Dreams paper collection and a Decorative Circle Frames die cut!  Easy Peasy and it really packs a punch.

I already know where this one is going and I'm hoping it will cheer them!

Just a Card to say Hello...

Good afternoon my friends and welcome.  I'm here to share a card I made using the Spellbinders BetterPress Plate called A Friend Like You Bouquet.  I used watercolor pencils to color these beautiful flowers and I love that you can feel the image.  I will be sending this card to just say Hello to a friend of mine.

The card is nice and flat so I can mail with one stamp!

I see another card using this press plate in the coming days. It's a lot of fun to color and it goes quickly.  There are a couple more sentiments in the set and of course you could use other sentiments.

A Birthday Card....Can You Handle the Pressure Challenge...

Good morning my friends and welcome.  I'm here this morning to bring you this little birthday card made using an embossing folder.  I used the Anna Griffin Foundry folder and the sentiment is a Heartfelt Creations die called French Courtyard.  I also used some of the flowers from my stash so it was a quick and easy card to make.

I'm entering this in the Can You Handle the Pressure Challenge. This Challenge is Anything Goes Embossing with a twist of Birthdays!

I'm off for another cup of coffee.  Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!

Card For Hope....

Good morning everyone and welcome!  Well here in East Tennessee we have gone from temps being in the single digits and snow a week ago to 53 degrees and thunderstorms today!  We are on a roller coaster with our weather but I have to admit the rain is a nice break from all that snow and cold we endured last week!

My thoughts have turned toward Spring this morning so I'm here to share a card I made using the Lisa Horton Calla Lily embossing folder and die.  It reminds me of Easter!

I colored it with chalk and mounted it on a panel embossed with an old swiss dot folder from long ago.  This would make a great encouragement card for someone.

Well that does it for me this morning.  I'm off to work on some bookmarks for my friends at the nursing home!

Can You Handle the Prerssure Challenge...

Good morning everyone and welcome!  I'm here this morning to share a card I made for the Can You Handle The Pressure Challenge.  I have several embossing folders and am trying to use them more so this challenge is just perfect for me.  The only rule is you must use an embossing folder.  The optional them this challenge is SNOW PEOPLE.

I used a Tim Holtz embossing folder and I think the name is Bricked.  The snowman is from Heartfelt Creations and I stamped onto watercolor paper and colored with my Inktense pencils.  I am a little behind with my birthday cards so I decided to make this one of them.  The sentiment is also from Heartfelt Creations.

Word Power Challenge....

Good morning my friends and welcome.  I'm here this morning to share another card with you and I'm entering it into the new Word Power Challenge.  The purpose of this new challenge is to showcase our sentiment stamps.

My card is 6 X 6 and I used some of the many flowers I already have made up and waiting.  Mostly they are left over flowers from when I was on the Heartfelt Creations Design Team.  I just chucked them into a huge jug and kept on moving.  Now I'm on a mission to use them.  The sentiment is also Heartfelt Creations from long ago and far away.  In the beginning most of Heartfelt Creations sentiments were of bible verses.  I'm very fortunate to have a few of these and I cherish them.

This is a brand new challenge blog so go check them out by clicking this link:  Word Power Challenge

Happy Birthday Double D Challenge!

Good Friday morning my friends and welcome.  I've been missing for a bit but I've been putting Christmas away...what can I say...I'm slow.  I'm here this morning to play along in the Double D Challenge  and to wish them a very Happy Birthday!  Below is a copy of their mood board for the challenge.

And here is my card:

I used a new embossing folder from Simon Says Stamp called Fresh Daisies.  As I love daisies you will be seeing a lot of this little beauty.  I embossed a piece of bronze cardstock and used white ink to rub over the image.  The photo doesn't do it justice.  Now I just need to decide where to send this one.  I have a few birthdays coming up for family.
