Christmas Blessings...

Good morning my friends....Let Christmas Begin!  My tree is up and shimmering, the wreath is on the door, my mantlel is lit and the centerpiece on my island.  That's going to be about it as there will be no shenanigans here other than the ocassional visitor so it's all good.  Just remember, what goes up has to come down too so let's not get carried away!

I'm here this lovely Monday morning to share another Christmas card I have made and I want to share it over at the Can You Handle the Pressure challenge.

The challenge is Anything Goes Embossing with a Twist of Christmas.  My card size is 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 and it is a tent fold.  I have used an Anna Griffin embossing folder called Snowfall and the card starts out as white on white.  So I decided to add a pop of festive color to help it along.

Recently I re-discovered my old, old Spellbinders dies and I have been playing with them here and there.  I love the look of embossing on the cardstock!  You can see it better on the first picture.  I made a red base for my sentiment which is an old, old Stampin-Up stamp.  I seem to use it every Christmas so it has seen some love!  The little bits of greenery and berries are from Heartfelt Creations Festive Berry and Birds stamps and dies and I watercolored them using my watercolor pencils.

I do hope you enjoy my card and come play along in the challenge here.

More Cards For The Nursing Home Patients....

In order to keep my creative juices flowing I have been making cards with intentions of sending them to the Nursing Home (Beverly Park Place) in Knoxville, TN.  The sweet activities director spends time helping patients address and sign the cards for loved ones.  Also these cards are meant to sit on a window sill or table in the patients room for them to enjoy.  I try to keep them colorful and bright.

I used Heartfelt Creations Burst of Spring Collection papers because my craft room is running over with these paper pads from when I was on the design team.

I've also been trying my hand at making wax seals and then inking the images to make them pop.

Here you can see the inside mechanics that allow the card to stand on it's on.  This is not my idea but honestly I cannot tell you where I saw this idea.  Very clever don't you think?

I used the gold pen on this one but I think next time I will do silver.  The color of the wax tells you which color to use.  So far my preference has been silver.

Well that does it for me today.  The weekend is almost here so enjoy!

What's On Your Workdesk? #753

Good morning everyone!  I'm up and moving this morning and very grateful to have had another birthday!  Yesterday was #74 and I actually am very proud of that fact!  I must apologize to everyone here as I have been very spotty about posting.  I just can't seem to get back in the swing of things so please forgive me.

You can join in this bit of happy fun by visiting Julia's blog WOYWW#753 .  She has all the details about participating and how to link up there.  It's lots of fun and everyone is so very friendly.

My desk this morning:  I have been trying to do a bit of cleaning but here you go.

One of the last cards I have finished and some dew drops from long ago and far away.  They are little acrylic drops in different colors used to adorn card fronts.  I found these in a drawer and decided to pull them out.  The next card I post will have these on the front.

Next It is just a girl and her shirt!  This is my Sweet Molly, she is the middle child and such a sweet disposition.  She is cold natured and wants to sleep under cover Summer and Winter.  We are experiencing Indian Summer here with temps in the 70's but she shivers if I take it off.

I buy baby onesies and cut off the gripper part then hem them and they make perfect little shirts for my yorkies.

Well ladies that does it for me this morning.  Thanks for letting me play!

Hello November....

Good morning everyone and welcome!  November is here and we woke up to a brisk 32 degrees and, as always, the closer we come to daylight the colder we will get.  I think we are scheduled to drop to 30 before day break. This is a shock to the system as a couple of days ago we were pushing 80!

I'm here this morning to share another card with you...another Christmas card for my stash.  I send several cards and also send to the nursing home for the patients to give to anyone doing them a kindness.

I have used the Holiday Ornaments collection from Heartfelt Creations and the embossing folder is from Spellbinders...I think the name is: Scenic Poinsettias.  I love the beautiful 3D embossing it achieves.

I've also decided to enter thin into the Peace on Earth Christmas Challenge.
