Just a Quick Post.....

Good morning everyone.  I've been a little lax in posting since Wednesday.  I've really been productive in my craft room, just nothing I can post yet.  This morning I wanted to share my door card I made for Heartfelt Creations.  I made this card a couple of weeks ago and just neglected to share it until now.

So what do you have going on today?  It's New Year's Eve, you know!  As for us, there will be no parties just a quiet dinner and to bed early.   That's what old folks do you know!  We have found the New Year comes along whether we are awake or asleep.  I'm just saying.....

Well that is all I have this morning.  I'm going to start looking at taking out some of the holiday decorations and then early next week, I will take down the tree.  I love decorating, but hate packing and sacking and putting away!  So until next year.....have a safe weekend!

What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday #134....

Happy Wednesday everyone!  Now if you are wondering what in the world I'm doing here showing you a picture of my desk.....Well it's Julia's fault!  She created this monster and I'm totally addicted!  Every Wednesday bloggers all over the world take a picture of what they have going on and post to Julia's blog and then we can visit each other's blog and see what is happening all over the world.  There are card makers, painters, altered artists.....whatever you do as a craft is fine.  Just show us what you are doing.

As you can see I've been coloring images.  I love using the distress re-inkers and brushes to color and shade in images.  I'm always on the look out for images that work well with this technique.  And I'm always looking for tutorials for this too.  I'm not an accomplished artist and I am a visual learner so I love to see the cards posted by those who use this technique.  I have some Copic markers, but I just never took to them.  I can blend colors so much better with the distress inks.  I guess you could say they are my "Thing".

Well that is about it for me this morning!  I'm off to Julia's blog to visit every one's entry.  Look out bloggers, here I come!

Thank You....

I wanted to share this photo with you of Abby in the foreground and Maggie with her back turned.   They are so sound asleep they didn't even notice I was taking pictures!  This was taken on Christmas night after there had been two rounds of guests, greetings, food, presents, and boys!  They were tuckered out.  Someone had laid a pillow on the floor in front of the sofa and Maggie quickly went to sleep; Abby just dropped and rolled...they usually are never this close.....ever.  Notice, ears are up....radar's on; but it just isn't registering with them.  So funny!

I also want to take an opportunity to say thank you, to all my followers and visitors.    Thanks for being there when my MoJo slips out the door, thank you for always leaving comments for my efforts and an extra big thank you for just being you!  None of the above slips by me.  I love all your comments and love to visit your blogs and see what you are doing.  As we move into the coming year I hope nothing changes and that we are all still right here where we belong!  I can't wait to see what your creativity does next!

Some of my Favorites......

Good morning everyone.....as we race toward the New Year, it is hard for me to believe that 2011 is almost over and 2012 is just a heart beat away!  This morning as I'm feeling a little sluggish and in desperate need of some quiet time, I want to share some of my favorite cards that I made in 2011.
So get you another cup of coffee and sit down and lets take a little walk down memory lane.....

As you can see my favorites just go on and on!  I really enjoyed making my Christmas cards this year but then being sick right in the middle of everything just sort of crimped my style.

Well I've shown you mine, now show me yours!  Pick out your favorites for 2011 and show off a little.  It's always nice to strut your stuff a little and what better time than now!  Just show what you have done and then go take a nap!

That's it for me this morning.....I hope you have a great day and remember to "Breathe"!!

Heartfelt Creations Wednesday....

Good morning everyone!    This morning I want to share another card I made for Heartfelt Creations using some of the stamps from the Limited Edition section of the Heartfelt Creations site.  These stamps will only be available until December 31, so if there are some you have had your eye on, now is the time to purchase them.  I used HCPC 2294 Aztec Gold Sunflowers 1 PreCut Set, HCPC 2293 Aztec Gold Sunflowers 2 PreCut Set and HCPC 2252 Stem and Leaves PreCut Set.  I even found some coordinating paper in my stash, how's that for luck?  If you would like all the specifics on my card, just head on over to the Heartfelt Creations blog and you can find all the instructions there.  Take a moment and look around while you are there.  The other design team members will be showing some of their creations too.  If you would like to visit the design team members individual blogs you can do that by clicking on their names on the side of my blog.  Go have a look around and leave a comment.  We all look forward to hearing from you!

I know this is short and sweet this morning, but I must run and get busy...it's not a good day to be found sleeping on the job.  There is so much to be done before the big day!  This will be my last post before the holiday.  I will be back next Wednesday with another project for Heartfelt Creations.

So....From Our House to Yours.....Merry Christmas!

My Tag to Share.....

Good Thursday morning everyone!  I'm still scurrying around trying to be ready for Christmas, how about you?  Good luck!

This morning I want to share a tag I made for Heartfelt Creations a couple of weeks ago and I don't think I had time to share it with you!   The Heartfelt Creations products used on this one were:

HCPC 3436 Rye Grass Flourish PreCut Set
HCPC 3435 Feather Grass Flourish PreCut Set
HCD 716 Layered Elegant Swirl Die
HCPC 3406 Botanical Floral 2 PreCut Set
HCPC 3407 Botanical Floral 2 PreCut Set

Other Supplies: Canson watercolor paper, clear embossing powder, white embossing powder, card stock Ranger Distress Inks, Glimmer Mist, Pearl Ex spray, Spellbinders Labels Four die and Foliage die, hot glue gun,Instructions: Cut out the Layered Elegant Swirl die on watercolor paper to make the tag. Stamp Swirls on the tag and emboss using the clear embossing powder. Stamp the Love Sentiment onto another piece of watercolor paper, cut it out with the labels die and while still in the die I sponged on distress inks to add color and then sprayed with shimmer sprays until I achieved the look I wanted. I did the tag at this time also. Next I stamped and embossed the rose petals with white embossing powder. I shaped the petals and used the hot glue gun to form the flowers. Next I cut out pieces of green card stock and colored the edges with distress ink and sprayed them with shimmer sprays also. Once dry I placed the flowers and leaves onto the tag and glued down with hot glue. The last thing I added was the Love Tag and I put it on an angle. Your tag is ready to tuck down into a gift for Holiday giving!

Well that about does it for me this morning.  I'm going to bake cookies this morning and make fudge this afternoon!  I hope you have a great day and I know you are crazy busy, but take a moment and "Breathe"

Wonder of the season...

Good morning everyone!  I hope you are planning a wonderful day.  As for me, I'm planning to try and finish my Christmas cards and get them all ready to go.  I only have a few to mail and most of them are already on their way!  My card to share this morning is CAS and it is for one of my grandsons.  I just love the image and I colored him with Ranger Distress Ink Refills.  A pretty piece of paper, a sweet sentiment, a cute colored image and this card is out the door!  No frills, no bows, no extras...just clean and simple!

I plan to enter this card in the challenge at Joan's Gardens.  Joan has a shop and sells so many wonderful items.  She stays very current on all the "Must Haves" you can think of!  Why don't you go on over and check her out!  I'm sure you will find something you just can't live without!

Well ladies, that about does it for me this morning.  I'm off for my next cup of coffee and then I plan to browse all the blogs and see what you have been doing.  Have a great day and do remember to "Breathe"!!

Another Christmas Card....

Good morning everyone!  Happy weekend!  This morning I'm here to share another Christmas card with you.  I'm on a roll and hoping to finish soon!  Having been sick for two weeks really put me  behind and so I'm really looking for quick and easy cards to finish up my list!  This cute little Mo Manning digital picture is one of my favorites.  I printed her onto watercolor paper and colored with the Distress Inks.  I used a spellbinders die to cut her out and then traced around the same die and used scissors to cut out a mat for this image.  Next I found some sparkly paper as a background, cut some beautiful corners and there you have it.  The corners are a Marianne die that I just love.  I think they make an elegant statement.  I will be entering this in the challenge at Joan's Gardens

What do you have planned for the day?  Do you still have shopping to do?  If you do just be careful out there and for goodness sake, take a moment and "Breathe"!   As for me there will be no shopping today.  I can't stand the crowds and the crazy traffic.  I will wait for another weekday to do my shopping.

Challenge at Joan's Gardens....

Hello everyone!  Today I'm sharing a quick and easy Christmas card I have made.  I'm entering it in the challenge over at Joan's Gardens.  The instructions for this weeks challenge were to make a Christmas Card and anything goes.  Well that opens the door for all sorts of beauty.  Why don't you go on over to Joan's and check it out!

This little beauty was stamped onto watercolor paper and colored with Ranger Distress Inks.  I used Spellbinders dies to set up the image and some pretty paper to layer behind the image.  The little dew drops are really red in real life, but the way the light caught them they almost look orange.  Sorry about that; some more of my photography skills!

Well I hope you are well underway with the cards you are making this year.  I am almost finished; just waiting on a couple of things coming in the mail and I can finish!

Have a great day and we will talk again soon!

Tuesday Morning......

Good morning bloggers!  This morning I have another Christmas card to share that I made for someone in my family.  I just love this little image.  I colored this with Ranger Distress Inks; made a frame using Spellbinders Labels Twenty Two dies.  Some pretty paper, a little bit of lace and some ribbon and it  is out the door!  Pretty easy and not too bulky to mail.

What are your plans for the day?  Lots of housework going on here, trying to catch up from where I was sick for so long.  I'm two weeks behind and have had to re-think some of the projects I wanted to do for gifts.  One of these days, I will actually be ready before the holidays hit full force!  Maybe next year!

That's it for me this morning...have a wonderful Tuesday and I hope you find a little time just for you.  Remember to "Breathe"!

Tag For Challenge at Joan's Gardens....

Good afternoon!  Well after another two days without Internet service, I'm back again.  It was on their end this time, but still a pain!  I've been on my knees for two days switching cables and checking boxes just to be told in the end they were sorry, it was their problem, not mine!  Now granted being down on your knees can have some benefits.....but only if you are praying.  I'm afraid I was not!  I was muttering under my breath, almost swearing and grunting and groaning and wondering if it is worth it!  Well we are back online again and I must say I am so HAPPY!  Enough already!

This afternoon I want to share a tag I made to enter the Challenge at Joan's Gardens.  This is a Heartfelt Creations die and I just love it!  If you are really interested the number is HCD 716 Layered Elegant Swirl Die.  I also used a Cuttlebug Folder to emboss and make the card stock look like a door.  Then some glittery paper and a punch for the leaves to make the wreath.  I hope you enjoy this.  See I was productive while my Internet was down!

And today I had to take a moment and Breathe....hope you did too!

Have a great evening and I will be back in the morning with some more of the goodies I've been working on.

Golden Roses....

Good morning everyone!  If you are wondering where I have been trying to get through the fog of an upper respiratory infection...I'm on the 9th day and I might just be coming around.  I have laid on the sofa all these days and totally neglected my blog.  I'm so sorry but I just didn't have it in me to sit here and communicate.  Also right in the middle of everything my Internet service went down and I had to muddle through the "try this" stuff to finally figure out my modem was shot!  So here I am with a new outlook on life, new modem, blinking happily on my desk, and ready to visit once again.  I didn't realize how much I depend on the Internet these days.  It is my window to the world and I felt stripped without it.

My card today is one I made for Heartfelt Creations a week ago and I'm just now sharing it with you.

The Heartfelt Creations Products Used: HCD 716 Layered Elegant Swirl Die, HCPC 3406 Botanical Floral 1 PreCut Set, HCPC 3407 Botanical Floral 2 PreCut Set, HCPC 3405 Leaf Medley PreCut Set.

My Card is 5" X 7"   I made the card base out of watercolor paper and then cut piece of watercolor paper and ran through the Cuttlebug embossing folder.  Attach to the card.  I cut the the die to create a circle and then used a Spellbinders Standard Circle die to create the gold piece to go behind the circle medallion.  I stamped and embossed the rose petals and then shaped them and formed into the roses.  If you dampen the paper just a little it allows you to curl the edges and make the flower look like it is real.  I stamped the leaves and cut out and placed them around the roses to create a sort of spray.  And of course I used shimmer sprays to spray everything and give a gold shine.

This card could be used for many different occasions and I love how it turned out.  If you would like any of these stamps you can go to the Heartfelt Creations Website and have a look around.  I know you will find something you just can't live without.  Their stamps are a quality product and you will not be disappointed!

Well that is about it for me this morning...I'm going back and rest a little more.  Have a wonderful day and if you are able to....."Breathe"!

HCD 712 Bella rose Die
HCPC 3436 Rye Grass Flourish PreCut Set
HCPC 2415 Petite Poinsettia PreCut Set
HCPC 3425 Elegant Angels PreCut Set

Other Supplies: Red card stock, white card stock, green cardstock, design paper, gold embossing powder, Ranger Distress Ink, Zip Dry Glue, pearls, shimmer spray
Card Size 4 1/2" X 6 1/2" Make gatefold card base out of red card stock and use the dies to cut the edges of the back and front folds.  Next using white card stock for panels, cut out the intricate dies and attach panels to the base card. Stamp the white panels with the Rye Grass Flourish and Elegant Angels sentiment. Next I stamped the poinsettia petals and embossed with gold embossing powder, then cut them out by hand since I didn’t want to disturb the embossing. I cut out the ferns and the leaves and sprayed them with shimmer spray. I shaped all leaves and petals and then glued together to make sprays. Once this was done I attached a spray on each side of the card front and one inside. I think this makes such an elegant and decorative Christmas card!

I hope you have enjoyed my card this morning!  I loved working with these new stamps and dies!  Remember to go to the Heartfelt Creations blog and leave a comment for a chance to win!  Have a wonderful day and we will talk later!

WOYWW #129

Welcome to WOYWW #129...now if you are wondering why I actually took a photo of this desk...here is the lowdown!  Each and every Wednesday Julia Dunnit hosts this little get together on her blog.  Everyone takes a picture of what they have on their workdesk and posts it to her blog...then we can all visit each other and see what we have going on.  I have become a huge fan of this madness and take part in it whenever I can!  I love visiting as many of the blogs as I can (I never get around to all of them) and see all the wonderful creative madness that is going on all across the globe.  Sometimes I even start at the bottom of the list and work my way back...but no matter which direction I go, I never seem to make it all the way through the list.  So why don't you come play with us on Wednesdays!  But let me just say, it is VERY addictive but not hazardous to your health!

As you can see I have a small mess going here this morning.  I've been working or design team projects as well as my own Christmas cards......I did straighten up a little yesterday because I couldn't find anything I needed to work with.   Sometimes I just have to stop and tidy a little.  My actual work space is really very small.  I have a whole room but only this tiny space that I actually use for creating.

So, I've shown you mine....now show us yours!

A Snowman Conversation.....

Good morning everyone!  This morning I want to share a card I made for the weekly challenge over at Joan's Gardens.  Each week Joan and Selma host a challenge and they are always so much fun....sometimes my time just gets away from me and I can't play, but this week I managed to to have a little extra creative time and this is what I came up with.

The challenge this week called for the following:

Make a card or tag with an animal
     Use a Die
     Create a Winter theme
     Do some kind of embossing

My little snowman is conversing with a little bird and I think I have all the rest of the bases covered too.  My image is from Sassy Cheryl's and I used Spellbinders dies and a Cuttlebug embossing folder.
Why don't you go over to Joan's blog and get all the instructions and play along!  While you are there, be sure and check out all the wonderful items Joan carries in her store.  She is a class act and handles your order with such care you will never be disappointed!

Well this is it for me this morning.  I'm off to do my chores and play awhile later!  I'm doing Christmas and wearing it out!  I'll be posting some of my creations later so come back and visit often.

So wherever you are today, and whatever you are doing...I wish you sunshine and happiness and don't forget to "Breathe"!

I'm Still Here.....

Good morning everyone.  I realize it has been a few days since my last post, but  I'm still here.  We had our Thanksgiving yesterday as the kids have a weird schedule this year and will be scattered on Thursday.  So everyone gathered here yesterday and we had a late lunch and lots of food and fun!  I have to admit that I'm still tired from the day.  I awoke at 3 AM and that made for a very long day!  But I love it when the girls and son-in-laws and grand kids can all be here at the same time.  We had a full house and we ate and talk and gave thanks for all we have!

Now back to my card.  This is a little hanglar image that I colored with distress inks and I think she is just too cute.  She is all bundled up and ready for the cold.  Much of the country is having snow already, but here in the balmy South we are still in the 60's and 70's.  I wanted to keep this card clean and simple and able to be mailed so there are not a lot of embellishments.  My sentiment is a Heartfelt Creations Birthday wish and I created the frame for the image with Spellbinders Labels Four dies.  Pretty simple.  I really wanted the little image to be the focal point on my card.  Sometimes, less is more.

What do you have planned for the day?  I hope it will be a good one for you!  I will be puttering most of the day with a little fun time in between!  So no matter what you get into try and take a moment and "Breathe"!

Be sure and check us out because this month's release is spectacular!

Now back to my card!  I wanted to do another Christmas card this week and this is what I came up with.  I just love the look.  It is clean and simple, but at the same time I think it packs a punch!  What do you think?

For all the products used and the instructions for this card, just pop over to the Heartfelt Creations blog and check it out.  You can also see all the creations from the new design team!  There will be lots of gorgeous pictures to make your mouth water!  I can't wait to visit the blogs of the design team and see what all they have going on!  You can visit them by clicking on their names on the right hand side of my blog.  Leave them a comment so they will know you visited...we all love hearing from you!

Well that is about it for me this morning.  My quest for a clean house continues!  No matter where you are or what you are doing take a moment and "Breathe"!  I need to practice what I preach!

Holiday Side Step Card....

Good morning everyone!  Happy Monday!  This morning I want to share a side step card I have made.  My very first, actually.  I loved the look and decided to make one of my very own.  I cut the card using burgundy card stock and then added some pretty paper.  I just started adding items I love and first thing you know it was finished.  The birdhouse and snowflake are Spellbinders dies, the leaves were from a punch I have and the little image was sent to me by a special friend.  I colored with distress ink re-inkers and then cut out and added to the card.  The tree is a Heartfelt Creations stamp that I stamped and cut out; then I added glitter to the branches before adding to the card.  You could add anything you like to yours.  Just load it up and give it for the holidays!  It's almost a gift in itself!
I almost forgot, the little bird is just from a package I purchased at Hobby Lobby and I thought he would look cute sitting by the bird house.

I'm still doing some deep cleaning of my house.  It's not that I'm doing that much....it just takes me a long time.  Today it's the living room!  New blinds and clean curtains and before I put them all back, some clean windows!  Just in time for the Holidays too!  I always like everything clean before we put the tree up.  Call me old fashioned, but I just love everything to look nice as our kids will be running in and out.  I always seem to get so busy and don't like to do a lot of cleaning when I could be playing!

Have a great day and no matter where you are or what you are doing.....take a moment and just "Breathe".

A Thanksgiving Card.....

Good Friday morning everyone!  I hope you are getting ready for the weekend!  This morning is the coldest one we have had all year and it has definitely put a little spring in my step!  We are in the lower 30's this morning.  With that being said, I have definitely turned my attentions toward Thanksgiving and Christmas!

This morning I'm sharing a card I did for Heartfelt Creations and you can find all the specifics listed with it on the Heartfelt Creations blog this week.  I do want to say that I stamped the leaves and then dipped them into melted UTEE to make them look like glass.  I just love the way they turned out.  Once they had cooled, I used my heat gun and re-heated them to be able to shape them a little.  I just added a little curl to them to make them have dimension and not lay flat.  But you have to be really careful or you will definitely burn your fingers!  That is the voice of experience talking there!

Well I hope you have a wonderful weekend planned.  As for me....no big plans, just the usual.  When you get to be my age, you just go with the flow!   Take care and remember to take a moment out of your busy lives and "Breathe"!

Welcome to Heartfelt Creations Wednesday...

Good morning everyone and welcome to Heartfelt Creations Wednesday!  I just love Wednesdays because I get to share another card I made for Heartfelt Creations!  For my card today I chose a Christmas theme and the Heartfelt Creations Products I used are:  HCPC 3415 Petite Poinsettia PreCut Set, HCPC 3421 Dove of Peace PreCut Set and HCD 712 Bella Rose Die.  For all the particulars of my card and all the supplies used just go on over to the Heartfelt Creations blog and they will have everything listed there.  I can't wait to visit this morning and see what the other design team members have created this week!  As usual, they will all be listed there for you to see, but you might also want to visit the individual blogs of the designers and have a look around.  You can visit them by clicking on their names in the right hand column of my blog.  Leave them an encouraging comment while you are there.  We all love hearing from you!  I have to tell you this team is jam packed with talent and you will not be disappointed!  These girls are serious about this and it shows in each of their creations!  I am so pleased to be a part of this team and look forward to learning from these ladies!

Well, this is short and sweet this morning....I have a gazillion things to do today and I need to get cracking.  I hope you have a wonderful day and no matter where you go, or whatever you do, just remember to "Breathe"!

Sleigh Ride....

Good morning everyone.  Well the holidays are slipping up on us and I decided I needed to get cracking on my projects.  This morning I want to share a little tag I made.  Tags have so many wonderful uses and I just love to make them.  This one will slip down inside a little gift bag for one of my neighbors.  I used a sentiment from Heartfelt Creations and mounted it onto a Spellbinders tag and then my little sleigh is a discontinued die from Spellbinders.  I've had this die for several years and I know it's not fair to show you when you can't really purchase these anymore, but I just love the sleigh and so I decided to use it here.  I made a charm from a jingle bell and used glossy accents to adhere it to the sleigh.  I used another die to cut around the bottom.  White ribbon through the top and it is all finished.  I hope this inspires you to use the things you already have.  In today's economy it is a necessary evil!

Well I'm off to do my chores for the day.  More cleaning.  We are either the most dirty or the cleanest people I know.  It seems like I can find dust bunnies without even trying!

Have a wonderful day and don't overdo...And remember to breathe!

Christmas Box for Challenge at Joan's Gardens

Good morning everyone!  It's Friday and raining cats and dogs here this morning.  It's OK, cause all I got is housework today!

This morning I'm running a little late because I was frantically trying to finish this little box for the Challenge over at Joan's Gardens!  I made the box last night, but wanted to finish the band to go over the box.  This week the challenge requires:

Well I think I have all the bases covered this week.  Why don't you play along...Joan's challenges are always a lot of fun and they make you think outside the box a little...kinda keeps you on your toes.  While you are visiting Joan's site, look around at her store...she has some wonderful supplies at very reasonable prices and she is a class act when it comes to customer service and shipping!

My box is made with Christmas paper and the band is made using the HCD 713 Lace Border die from Heartfelt Creations.  The flower is from HCPC 3415 Petite Poinsettia PreCut Set.  I added some leaves from a couple of punches and made a stick pin too and then I added a little jingle bell charm.  Not too complicated just a lot of fun.

I hope I have inspired you to try one of these little boxes...and maybe enter it into Joan's Challenge!  Have a good Friday and a wonderful weekend!  Remember to "Breathe"!

Winding Down.....

Most of you are counting the days till the weekend; me too!  It is just around the corner!

This morning I'm here to share another card I made for Heartfelt Creations and it is featured on the Heartfelt Creations blog this week; along with several other cards made by the design team.  I was so excited to see the new team members cards there yesterday morning, but I have to tell you, I'm going to have to step it up a notch to keep up!  Loads of talent featured over there!  My card uses HCPC 3419 Holiday Poinsettia Candle PreCut Set.  I used a Aged Mahogany Distress Ink and stamped the sentiment onto watercolor paper.  I cut it out using Spellbinders beaded ovals and layered this onto a piece of watercolor paper that had been run through a Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.  This was then mounted onto the card base which is 4 1/4" X 5 1/2".  I made the bow out of seam binding and made a homemade stick pin to go through the bow.  The little pretty under the sentiment is a Prima element.

Please forgive my photography skills, I think I'm getting worse instead of better.  One of these days all my photos will look gorgeous and I will probably faint dead away!

Well ladies, that about does it for me this morning.  Lots of chores to do today, so I need to get cracking!
Have a great day and I look forward to hearing what you think of my card.  Like it or not Christmas is just around the corner!

Happy November and Welcome to Heartfelt Creations Wednesday!

Today over on the Heartfelt Creations blog, Linda and Emma Lou will be sharing some of the projects made by the new design team members, as well as the remaining team members.  I am so anxious to get to see these projects and I know they are going to be a feast for our eyes.  So plan to go over and check it out!

My card this morning features a classic Christmas Bell with a Heartfelt Creations twist!  I just love the beautiful poinsettia flowers on this bell!

Heartfelt Creations Products Used HCPC 3422 Poinsettia Cheer Bells PreCut Set

Other Supplies: Spellbinders Grand Labels 4 and Parisian Accents dies, Grand Calibur, sewing machine, cream card stock, turquoise card stock, Canson watercolor paper, Prisma pencils, Copic marker, Memento Tuxedo Black ink, blending stumps, gamsol, Scor-Tape, glue

Instructions: My card size is 5 X 7.  Make card base out of watercolor paper.  Some of you have asked why I use so much watercolor paper on my cards even though parts are not water colored.  The reason for this is I love the stability I achieve with the heavy watercolor paper.  A card base made of this can stand up to almost anything you can load onto it.  I cut my layers 1/4" smaller than the base and stitched around the edges, then attached to card base.  Stamp image onto cream card stock and color with Prisma pencils and then I used gamsol and a blending stump to help with the blending and shading.  Cut out with the die and then I used the same die, placed it onto a different piece of card stock and traced around the outside edges of the die.  I cut it out and used it for a layering piece for the image.  Attach this to the card.  Cut out the accent pieces and glue to the card front.  There you have it!

Now be sure and visit the Heartfelt Creations blog and have a look around at the new designer creations.  That is where I'm going right now!  See you there....Oh yes, you can also visit the blogs of the designers by clicking on their names on the right hand side of my blog.  Go visit and leave them a comment...they will be so happy to hear from you!

That's it for me this morning; come back and visit tomorrow as I will be posting another one of my cards for Heartfelt Creations.  I hope you have a wonderful day and that it is filled with sunshine!  Take care and remember to "Breathe"!

Getting Ready for Christmas Mailings.....

Good morning everyone!  I realize that it is only Halloween, but about this time every year, I start to panic!  There are always so many projects I want to do before the Holidays arrive....so many projects....so little time!  This happens every year so I don't know why I am so surprised by it!

This is another card for my stash!  Don't you just love the little carolers?  They are Mo Manning images and I just adore the street lamp!  I printed off  my images and used the heat gun to set the ink so it wouldn't run when I colored it with distress ink re-inkers.  This works pretty good, but sometimes I think the heat also changes the fibers in the watercolor paper and makes the painting difficult.  I don't know any other way to set the ink....do you have any suggestions?  So I colored the singers and then cut them out and placed them around the lamp.  I still can't merge images and probably never will be able to.  It just seems like too many steps and too time consuming when I can just cut them out and go from there...Now that sounds like an old lady talking!  I used some pretty Christmas papers to mat the image and a couple of Spellbinders dies to set up the sentiment.  Pretty simple really...not much fuss .... I wanted the images to be the focal point of this card.  I think it has kind of an old world feel to it and I really like that.  The card size is 5 X 7 and it can be mailed without much expense, which is a good thing at Christmas time.

Well this is about it for me this morning!  I have lots of chores to do today; but plan to play a little this afternoon!  What do you have going on today?  Whatever it is I hope you can take a little time and just "Breathe"!

Christmas Card....

Good morning everyone!  Can you believe the month of October is almost over?  Whew, where has the time gone?  This morning I would like to share another card I made for Heartfelt Creations using their HCPC 3432 Magnificent Spruce Trees PreCut Set.  This set is going to be one of my favorites as I can think of so many uses throughout the year.  My card is a clean and simple design without a lot of "fussy" to take away from the image.  If you want all the specifics on this one just go over to the Heartfelt Creations blog and check it out.  Just a few layers, a little glitter and a bow and it is ready to go!

I think that is about it for me this morning.  Kinda short and sweet.  I hope you have a good weekend planned and that you get to spend time with those you love.  As for me....well I plan to take a little time and just Breathe!

What a freaking mess!  I have been trying to straighten my ribbon so I can fit it all in one drawer and I have to tell you,  it is a bigger job than I expected!  This is only a small portion of my ribbon, I'm ashamed to say and I have been trying to sort through the mess and tie up loose ends.  I have worked on this for a couple of days and I'm getting close to giving up!  It is overwhelming!!  The reason I have so much is I inherited my Mom's ribbon from all her craft projects and I received a bunch from an online store I used to purchase from often.  That was back when I was working.  She would send a piece of ribbon with each purchase and they came in a little plastic bag all nice and neat.  Well those plastic bags just do not store well for me.  They slip and slide and so you never know what you have.  If anyone has any suggestions for storing ribbon, please let me know!  I'm at my wits end with this mess!

Well that is what is on my workdesk this morning!  Please forgive the mess!  It has begun to slid off into the floor and I have had to go crawling after several little spools.  This old lady is way to old to be down on her hands and knees chasing spools of ribbon!

Have a wonderful day!  And remember to breathe!  In and Out....that's it!  It can be a very calming thing and Lord knows I need to be calm today!

"Struttin My Stuff"

Don't be confused by my title!  All I mean, is this is my second post of the day, which is very unusual for me!  I have a very busy week this week and I really wanted to get this card finished and posted because it is for Joan's Gardens challenge of the week.  As many of you know I'm a huge fan of Joan's Gardens and Joan and Selma always come up with the best challenges.  I love playing along each week when I can get the free time to do so.  So hence my hurry to get this card posted.  I think I covered all the bases and if I missed any, please forgive this old lady.

Well ladies, I'm off to visit the big city, as I have numerous errands to run.  Seems like I'm always in a hurry to get things done.  How in the world did I ever find time to work all those years!

Paper Bag Mini Album.....

Good Morning everyone!  This morning I want to share some pictures of the paper bag mini album I made for my sister "The Enabler".  She is always doing something super  nice for me and seems like there is so little I get to do for her.  This is my first mini album and probably my last.  Although I had a great time doing it; they are very time consuming and since I am one of those people who likes doing quick projects, I can't imagine me doing more.

Each page is covered with design paper and then some sort of embellishment and I made tags to slip down into the bags.  Some of the pictures I saw online were absolutely gorgeous.  Since I have  never confessed to being a scrapbooker, this was truly a labor of love for my dear sister!
This picture was colored with distress inks and framed with a Spellbinders frame and then I used flowers and pearls out of my stash colored to match the papers.

Like I said, I cannot imagine me doing more, though I had wanted to do a couple for Christmas gifts.  We will see.  I'm more about quick projects like the cards that I make.  Have you made these before?  What are your thoughts on them?

Well  this is all for me today.  I hope you have a great day and have a few moments to be creative.  And as always,  remember to "Breathe"!
