Anything Goes Embossing with a Twist of Easter...

Good Friday Morning everyone and welcome!  I've been working on a few Easter cards the last few days and I think this one would be a good one to enter in the Can You Handle the Pressure Challenge. Here is my card.

I used Heartfelt Creations Doves and Dogwoods from a retired collection and the die is called Decorative Circle Frames.  The embossing folder is Pretty Florals from Crafters Companion.  I used Archival French Ultramarine ink to color the embossing folder so it transferred to the paper.  This made a very quick and easy 5" X 7" card as I already had the flowers and doves ready to go.  I like to have flowers and other elements to decorate cards ready to go when I know there is a need coming in the near future.

You can check out this challenge here:  Can You Handle The Pressure Challenge  I have really enjoyed these challenges as I'm getting to play with some of my embossing folders.

Inspiration Wednesday with Heartfelt Creations...

Good morning my friends and welcome.  Another week has rolled around and I am here once again to share another card with you.  You can find my card and all the details for it in the Heartfelt Creations Gallery.  I used the Garden Lily Collection for the pretty papers and the flower on the front of the card.

I made a fun fold card this week and it has a front fold over as a closure.  The following photo is made with it all open.  There is even a small area for writing a message to the person receiving the card.  I just love the soft colors of this paper collection.

My finished card size is 4 1/4" X 5 1/2".  It is a fun fold card with a front closing flap.  Make card base by cutting a piece of cream cardstock 7 1/4" X 5 1/2" and score at 3".  Cut a piece of cream cardstock 4 1/4" X 4 1/4" and score at 1".  Attach the 1" fold to the card base making sure it is mid way up the 5 1/2" side of the card.  I just eye balled it.  This piece forms the closing flap.

Next cut a piece of Sheet 11A and cover the inside portion of the card.  I then cut a piece of cream cardstock 2 1/2" X 5" and glue to the inside of the card.  This will fit behind the front of the card and supplies a place to to a message to the person receiving the card.  Cut two pieces of Sheet 6A to fit the closing flap front and back and glue down.  Next I chose to use pieces of Sheet 5A of the paper collection to cover the front and inside of the card front.

Now stamp the sentiment onto a piece of Sheet 6A and mat with a piece of the cream cardstock.  This finished piece will measure 1/2" X 3".  Glue to the front closing flap.

Stamp the flower petals and filler pieces onto the Deluxe Flower Shaping paper. The flower petals were stamped with Sap Green and the filler pieces were stamped with Leaf Green.  Color the filler pieces with Leaf Green.  I left the flower petals without additional color to make the look like a white flower.  Cut out all pieces with coordinating dies.  Lay the flowers onto the Mold, spritz with water and run through the die cut machine.  Lay out to dry.  Once dry, poke a hole in the center using the Golf Tool and feed through the stamens.  I used hot glue to anchor the stamens and I used two petals to create the flower.

Decide on placement and hot glue down.  The card is finished.

Inspiration Wednesday with Heartfelt Creations ... A Floral Remembrance

Good morning friends and welcome!  I'm here to share another card I made using the Feathery Florals collection from Heartfelt Creations.  You can find my card in the Heartfelt Creations Gallery along with all products used to make it.

My finished card size is 4 1/4" X 5 1/2".  Cut white cardstock 4 1/4" X 11" and score at 5 1/2".  This makes a tent fold card.  On the front side of the card measure down 2 1/2" and cut.  Cut this piece down to a 3" X 3" piece of cardstock and set aside.

Cover the inside and the front flap of the card with pieces of Sheet 2B of the paper collection.  Then cover the 3" square piece of cardstock with a piece of Sheet 5A of the paper collection.

Stamp the feather using Leaf Green ink and color using various Prismacolor pencils. I used various shades of violet and green but you can use your imagination and color however you like.  Use coordinating die to cut out the feather.  Add glitter using a sponge with adhesive on it then sprinkle the glitter over.  Allow to dry.

Stamp the flowers in Cactus Flower ink and color the edges with same.  Use coordinating die to cut out.  Lay onto mold, spritz with water and run through the die cut machine.  Turn out onto the desk to dry.  Once dry add some glitter using the same sponge and adhesive.  Also add Prills to the center of the flowers and allow everything to dry.

Decide on placement of flowers and feather and glue down onto the 3" X 3" square piece.  Glue the 3" piece to the flap and allow to dry.

Cut out one of the sentiments from Sheet 6A and mat with a piece of white cardstock.  Glue this to the bottom of the card and it is ready to go.

This makes a quick and easy card with lots of interest and it will become a favorite I'm sure.

Inspiration Wednesday with Heartfelt Creations...

Good morning friends and welcome!  I'm here this morning to share with you another project featuring the Feathery Florals Collection from Heartfelt Creations!  You can find my card and all information about this project in the Heartfelt Creations Gallery.

My finished card is 4 X 9.  Make card base and cover with a piece of 12B of the paper collection.  Using the Slim Elegant Rectangle die, cut out one in white and one in gold.  Then cut out one of the other dies in the set to go in the center to serve as a medallion. I used a piece of sheet 2B for this.  I also cut one of these out of white cardstock and glued them together to give it a bit more strength.  I adhered with dimensional tape to the center of the card front.

Stamp the flower and the feathery piece using Toffee Crunch ink and color with pencils and odorless mineral spirits.  Cut out using coordinating dies.  I cut apart the flower piece and then glued it to the feather.  Add glitter to both and then I added gold Gala Glitz and allow to dry.

The card is finished.

Debuting the Feathery Florals Collection with Heartfelt Creations...

Good morning my friends and welcome!  I'm here this morning to introduce to you the brand new collection from Heartfelt Creations - Feathery Florals!  I have made a card to celebrate and you can find it in the Heartfelt Creations Gallery here

My finished card is 5" X 7".  I used the Deluxe Flower Shaping paper to make card base.  Cover with a piece of Sheet 8B of the paper collection that has been distressed around the edges.

Use the Simply Oval Classic Frames dies to cut a piece of white cardstock and one out of the Luxe Gold cardstock.  Glue these two together off setting each other so the gold peeps out from behind the white.  Next I cut an oval from a piece of Sheet 5A of the paper collection and glue it behind the white and gold die cuts. I used dimensional tape to adhere to card front.

Stamp the the Floral image from the Feathery Florals Cling Set using Toffee Crunch ink and die cut with coordinating dies.  Also stamp the butterfly from the Petite Feathery Florals Cling Stamp using Toffee Crunch and die cut with coordinating die.  Color with Prismacolor pencils and glue onto the card front. At this point I added glue to the center of the flowers and added Heart of Gold Prills and allow to dry.  Add glitter and set aside to dry.

Once everything is dry, the card is ready to go.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  You can check out more projects at Heartfelt Creations

Can You Handle the Pressure...Things with Wings

Good morning everyone and welcome. I have really been enjoying the Can You Handle the Pressure Challenge so I'm back to share another card made using an embossing folder and this time there is a twist to the challenge ... Things with Wings!  Those of you who know me, know I love birds but I also have a thing for dragonflies.  This little dragonfly is stealing the show this morning.

The embossing folder is from Crafters Companion and it's called Pretty Florals.  I think it is quite elegant!  The sweet little dragonfly is from Heartfelt Creations and it's made by stamping once onto Vellum and once onto cardstock and embossing in gold embossing powder then coloring with inks.  I used Archival Inks Cactus Flower and Forget me Not.  It looks like it might just fly off my card!

I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed making it!  Head on over to the Can You Handle the Pressure blog and check out the challenge.  Come play along.  It's lots of fun!

Inspiration Wednesday with Heartfelt Creations...The Colors of Spring...

Good morning friends and welcome.  This morning I'm here to share another card made using lovely products from Heartfelt Creations. You can find my card in the Heartfelt Creations Gallery with a listing of all products used.

This is a fun fold card made with a flap on the front of the card:

This is how the card looks when it is opened with a place for writing a message to the person receiving.

My finished card size is 4 1/4" X 5 1/2".  It is a fun fold card called a Flap Fold card.  Make a regular sized card 4 1/4" X 5 1/2.  Cut a piece of white cardstock 3 1/4" X 5 1/2" and score at 1/2".  Glue this piece to the back of the card centering it.  This piece is meant to fold over to the front of the card and to hold the card closed.  I like to use magnets on flaps so they don't come open.  Decide on placement of the magnets and glue down.  Cover the flap with a piece of Sheet 12B of the paper collection.  I picked out a sentiment from Sheet 3A of the paper collection and cut it out.  I cut each end of the sentiment so that it looks like a banner.  I just eye balled it and then I used dimensional tape to adhere it to the card front.  It also covers where the magnet is so that is hidden.

Cover the card front with a piece of Sheet 8B of the paper collection and then I chose a card front from Sheet #9A of the paper  collection and cut it down so it would fit behind the flap.  This piece just adds a bit more interest to the card and you could stamp a sentiment on it if you wanted.

I covered the inside of the card with a piece of Sheet 12B of the paper collection and cut a layering piece of white cardstock to go on top of that.  Next cut a strip of Sheet 8B and glue to the piece of white cardstock.  This was just a scrap piece of paper I didn't measure it at all.

Stamp the flower petals onto Deluxe Flower Shaping Paper using Magenta Hue ink and color the flowers with that as well. Use Buttercup for the centers of the flowers and then cut out with coordinating dies.  Layer onto mold, spritz with water and run through the die cut machine.  Allow to dry then add the Prills to the centers of the flowers.
