Just So You Know.....

I have just finished a week in the dark and it has not been fun!  My computer crashed and burned and I have had to wait to receive a new tower and get started again!  I had no idea how much I relied on the Internet as my window to the world until this past week.  Since I'm technically challenged with no fancy phone or laptop or any other device that I could use to get to the Internet, I've been sitting here in the dark thinking about all my blogging friends and how very much I miss everyone!

Well, the new computer has arrived and I vow to never be left like this again.  I'm having my old tower repaired and if it cannot be fixed, then I will have something else to help me along!  Bear with me as I get programs installed and up and running.  I lost several pictures and some information folders because I didn't do a back-up when I should have, so this might take a little bit!

So please don't give up on me and move on!  I'm still here....just a little battered at this point!

GLENDA I wish you good luck! This iron machine can make us crazy if it is broken or so. Once I had the same - I lost all my folds and I was unhappy and I thought better I would die ... But the life must go on..
I hope you are OK!

Hey Glenda...had wondered why you hadn't posted anything, lol! I become frantic if anything happens to my 'puter or the internet goes down. I bought a laptop a couple of years ago so that I can stay connected, lol....I even have to have it when we go on vacation!

Glad to hear it was your computer, I was getting worried. You have my Sympathy!! It is a BIG mess to remake all the info...Best Wishes on regrouping. Try to have a fun weekend. Weather is in our favor to be in the 40's again. Maybe add some flavoring to that coffee.

I'm happy to hear you are on the road to recovery with your computer. Joan told me what happened or I would have been worried about you too. Good Luck with getting it all set up again. We look forward to having you back.

Sorry to hear you've had such horrible computer problems. It is really is a "necessity" these days! Hope you'll be up and running soon -- we'll still be here!

I live in dread of this happening to me. I know I have not done as much backing up as I should. I hope your get back on your feet quickly. Happy to have your back.

I am so sorry this happened to you, Glenda! It is absolutely the pits to lose your computer and link to the internet (I had two crashes last year). I hope you can get most everything back quickly. Now I save everything on an external drive, just in case. Good luck with everything.

Glad it was just the computer! You're like a long distance friend, Glenda! I think we've all had that happen to us. It is truly no fun! I too back up to an external drive. They're relatively inexpensive and will do the back up automatically! Makes you wonder how people got by with none of these modern electronics?! Hang in there girl we aren't going anywhere!

Oh, I'd never give up on you just for disappearing for a while. I do that on a monthly basis, and my internet isn't even down (knock on wood!)! Glad you're getting back up and running. Hope things go smoothly--I'll keep checking in to see how it's going!

Hi Glenda,

I've wondered about losing everything I have too... I download my photos onto my netbook (my only computer) and if something happened to it I don't know what I'd do.

Did you happen to make it over to my blog Thursday? I passed on an award to you -- go take a peek.

Hugs,
Kay

It is amazing how dependent we are on the internet nowadays and how much piles up in the inbox when we're not online for a few days. I know what it's like to lose precious pictures... I once accidentally erased a whole SD card of vacation photos and I was devastated. I was just trying to set the date on the camera!! I have since been able to find pics on the internet of the places we visited... only we're not in them. haha But it's okay cause it's just the 2 of us and most of the time I take just the scenery shots. Maybe you can find pics of things you lost on the internet. At least any recent cards will be on your blog or HC's site. Good luck and have fun with the new computer!
