Sunrise Lily Shaped Card....

A few days ago while I was shaping Sunrise Lilies for my folio, I made a few extra for another project.  I always do this and I have a large jar on my shelf that is home to many different flowers.  They wait patiently for a card or other project and when they are needed they come to the rescue!

I do love these flowers and these are sitting on a beautiful die cut that is Heartfelt Creations Festive Holiday die.  The card shape is from the Album Tags and Die set and I think it makes a lovely card base.  I hope you enjoy this as much as I have loved making it and of course It's another Birthday card for my stash.

Because these stamps and dies for the flowers are about a year and a half old I think they quality for the challenge over at  Retro Rubber Challenge Blog.  Anything goes, just use stamps over a year old. I hope you have a wonderful week and try and find time to be creative!

Instructions: To see more of this album, click here. Using the instructions for size for paper and magnets, cut a piece of the paper collection and glue to the front of the album. Also cut a piece for the fold over piece of the cover. Stamp, color and cut out the flower, leaves and the little birds. Run them through the Cherry Blossom 3D Mold after you spritz with water and lay aside to dry. Add Prills to the center of the flower (I colored some of the Minnie Pearl Prills to match my petals using Magenta Hue Archival Ink). Add glitter to the edge of the flowers and the little birds and set aside to dry. Once dry, you have pieces to scatter throughout the album. I added little birds, flowers and leaves all across the front of the album and glued the string of pearls down the side. I secured the ribbon to the back of the album using score tape. This is just for a bit of added security and it is also a decorative piece.
Page 2: Using the sizes for cutting the paper to fit the page that is printed on the album, cut a piece of the paper to fit the page. Decide where you would like to add the decorative pocket and cut out the slit in the paper. Next run the die through the Vagabond machine with white cardstock. Glue this decorative piece over the slit and then using hot glue, add the bling on a string. Cut out the tag using white card stock and cover it with a piece of the paper collection. Tie the seam binding through the hole and slid the tag down into the slot. Next cut the Decorative die that fits along the bottom of the page and just glue the edges leaving the center open for tags. Glue Bling on a string being careful not to let the hot glue seal the opening. Cut out tags from the paper collection and tie string in the holes for decoration.
Page 3: Using the sizes printed on the album for paper sizes, cut a piece of paper to cover the page and glue down. Next cut out the die and glue it to the page. This makes a lovely backdrop for a photo. These dies with this release are stunning and make it so easy to decorate the album and showcase all your lovely photos.

What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday 516....

Good morning like minded crafters and welcome to my desk this Wednesday morning.  This week has been a busy one here and yet I have accomplished so little!  It's just like that some days I guess.  If you are wondering about why I'm showing you my mess this morning, it is Julia's fault!  You can go to her blog here and have a look around.  We get together on Wednesday and show our desks then after we link up we can visit each other.  I love being able to see desks from all over the world and have a look at what everyone is doing!  So if you would like to join us we would love to have you.  Julia has all the details on her blog (Stamping Ground) so just head over and become one of us!

I'm working on a new folio using Heartfelt Creations Lush Lilac collection.  I love the soft purples on this paper and use it often.  Can't wait to get on with this project!

Well that does it for me.  I'm off to link up and visit as many of the ladies as I can.  I have to leave the house this morning to run some errands!

Sunrise Lily Folio.....

Good morning friends.  It's Monday and we are supposed to be on a high part of the roller coaster ride as the temperatures are on the rebound from the 40's back into the upper 70's.  Also pollen is raging right now.  I awoke with a sore throat and a stuffy nose this morning, oh happy day!

I have been revisiting some of the flowers from Heartfelt Creations over the last couple of weeks and this one I love.  It's the Sunrise Lily and sadly, it was discontinued.  I decided to dig it out and use it again and I have to admit it has made me smile!  I made a folio learned from Kathy Clement and I used a little honey stick and a tea bag inside the pocket.

Here is the inside of the Folio with more beautiful Lily flowers!

I hope you like this as much as I do!  I'm smitten with the little honey sticks and the Folio ideas from Kathy!  This one will be hard to part with!

My last Easter Card.....

Good morning friends!  I hope you are looking forward to this holiday season.  I love the Easter season and it welcomes Spring to East Tennessee.  This morning we rain, tomorrow cold again and then on Easter Sunday another warming trend!  Whew it's a roller coaster ride for sure!

I am here this morning to share my last Easter card for this year.  I finished it last week and got it in the mail and then put away my stamps and papers.  I used Heartfelt Creations products for this card of course as I am a hard core follower!

I just love these dogwood flowers and that sweet little dove.  Of course everything has a a sprinkling of glitter and it just makes me happy!

Well that does it for me this morning.  Hope your holiday is a good one and that you get to spend it with loved ones.

Instructions: My card size is 4 1/2 x 6". Make card base and cover with a piece of the paper collection. Cut out the Diamond die and glue to card front.
Stamp the cupcake twice, once with Magenta Hue and once with Sap Green ink. Using coordinating die cut out both cupcakes and then cut out the bottom piece with scissors and glue to bottom of the cupcake. Stamp the tie and bow and cut out using coordinating die. I used Vibrant Fuchsia ink and a Fantastix Blending Tool to color the dots on this piece. Glue it to the bottom of the cupcake. Now add the Prills to the icing of the cupcake and allow to dry. Use dimensional tape to adhere to card front placing it over the Diamond.
I stamped the candles, heart and cherry with Vibrant Fuchsia ink and using the coordinating dies, cut them out. I colored using ink and the Fantastix Blending Tool. Glue these pieces to the card front and allow to dry.
Find a sentiment tag on the paper collection and using the coordinating die cut out and glue to card front. Glue down the half pearl and once it is dry, the card is ready to go. Quick and easy!

What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday 515

Good morning fellow crafters and welcome to WOYWW #515.  I'm so happy to be back among all the people participating in the little bit of madness.  Miss Julia at Stamping Ground is the creator of this and you can find her blog here.  You can go there and check out all the other crafters participating and check out their desks and see what they have going on.  I love this as I get to be nosy and have a look around all the other ladies desks.

Here is what is on my desk this morning.  Yes more flowers.  I hope you are not getting bored with seeing them yet as I love making them for all kinds of projects.  Whenever I make flowers I always make more than required and then I have extra's for other projects down the road.

These Sunrise Lilies are some of my favorites but they are discontinued with Heartfelt Creations.  I decided I wasn't finished with these lovely flowers and decided to drag out the stamps and dies and have another go at them. I will be making a Folio in the coming days and then I see a card in the future of part of these.

Well I'm off to visit as many of the other bloggers as I can this morning.  Hope you have a wonderful day and that you get the chance to be creative today!

Sunflower Folio.....

Happy Monday morning my friends!  I'm here to show you a folio I made inspired by the talented Kathy Clement.  This is a link to her youtube channel!  I have loved checking out her videos!  Remember seeing the sunflowers I had lying on my desk last week?  Well this is what I used part of them on!  I totally enjoyed learning how to make these and will be using this design for so much in the coming days.  I have so many ideas and think this design would make a lovely gift for family and friends!

This is the outside cover of my folio.  It is 5 X 7 and just perfect for a stand alone gift or as a wonderful addition down inside a gift bag!  Most all of the products used here are Heartfelt Creations but I did use a Martha Stewart punch for the side decoration.  The centers of my flowers are a dukes mixture of Prills, Glitter, Redlands, seed beads and I think that is all.  I just mixed it all up and put in it's own special jar, just for sunflower centers.

Here I made a pocket with a couple of tags and thought how it could hold a gift card, a tea bag, or any number of other little goodies that you would want to send along to someone special.  How about a handwritten note to a family member or someone sick.  Candy for a little gift...and the ideas just keep rolling.

This pocket has a little piece i made by just folding a piece of cardstock and covering with a piece of the paper and when opened up it has two blank areas where you could write a bit inside.

Well that's it for me.  I hope you have enjoyed my first of many folio ideas and thanks Kathy Clement
for all the inspiration!

Instructions: My card size is 5 x 7". Make card base and then cut out the frame and glue it down to card front.
Stamp the cart in Lilac Posies ink and stamp the extra wheel out of Teal Zeal ink. Using coordinating dies cut out and color using the Dove Blender pen and ink. Glue the extra wheel on and use Hot Mama Prills in the center of the wheel. I cut out the border die using a piece of yellow paper and then cut pieces to fit along the front of the cart. Glue into place and allow to dry.
Stamp the different elements using Tuxedo Black Memento ink and cut out using the coordinating dies. Color using various inks and the dove blender pen. I also used the stack and store daubers to color some of the pieces. Next, add glitter and the Prills and set aside to dry.
When everything is dry, add dimensional tape to the cart and glue to card front. Add all the elements and then pick out a tag from the paper and use dimensional tape to adhere to the card front.

What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday 514.....

Good morning friends and welcome to my desk!  I woke early....way too early to do much other than participate in this lovely tradition.  If you are wondering about this post, a group of crafters get together each and every Wednesday and post a picture of their work desk and then share on our blogs.  Link your blog to Julia's blog here:  Stamping Ground  I did take this photo two days ago as I was finishing up this twisted easel card.

This is my first attempt at this design and I have to admit I do love it.  I see more of these in my future.  You can also see an Easter card in the background.  All Easter cards are finished and ready to be mailed.

I thought you might like to see a photo of the finished product:

Ok, I'm off to visit other deskers this morning and have a little snoop around their desks.  I love being able to see what people all over the world have on their desks!

Sunny Sunflowers.....

Good morning friends!  It's raining again this Monday morning and it has rained most of the weekend!  Now I know it is Spring and these are "Spring" showers but when I look out my window, all I see is weeds growing in my yard.  It's past the Daffodils and before the Iris blooming so I have room for some sunny sunflowers!

When I was a child, I was in a school play cast as a sunny sunflower!  My talented Mom sewed me a green crepe paper dress and cut yellow poster board in the shape of a sunflower with a place for my face to shine through.  That was the hi-light of the 6th. grade for me!  Well, this morning there are sunflowers in the house!  I love these flowers and find making them always cheers me up and makes me smile.

At least the sun is shining here!  These will be used on a project I have brewing in my brain!  Stay tuned...

Inspiration Wednesday with Heartfelt Creations

Good morning friends!  I'm here this morning sharing another card I made using the Heartfelt Creations Cherry Blossom Retreat Collection.  It has become a favorite with the sweet little birds and the Cherry Blossoms and It will be used with much love in my craft room!  There is just something about these sweet little blue birds with their rosy bellies that makes me smile!

Other Products: White Cardstock, Dimensional Tape, Sizzix Vagabond 2
For more tips on creating with the Cherry Blossom Retreat collection, watch the tutorial at https://youtu.be/OaA2da5H-E0.
Instructions: My card size is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2". Make card base and cover it with a piece of the paper collection.
Using white cardstock cut out the Lacy Diamond Die. Cut a coordinating piece of cardstock to fit the center of the diamond and glue it to the back. Glue this piece down onto the card front.
Stamp the limb onto white cardstock using Jet Black Archival Ink. Use the Dove Blender Pen and ink to color this piece. Glue to the center of the diamond medallion and set the card aside.
Stamp, color and cut out the flower petals, leaves and little birds using coordinating stamps and dies. I used Magenta Hue Archival ink to stamp the flower petals. I stamped the little birds using Jet Black Archival Ink and then colored with ink and the Dove Blender Pen. When I did the bellies of the little birds I used the fantastix and the Magenta Hue ink to color. Layer the birds, leaves and flower petals into the mold, spritz with water and run through the Vagabond 2 then lay aside to dry. When dry layer the flower petals and add the Prills to the centers. Add glitter and set aside to dry. Glitter the little birds and set aside to dry. Once everything is dry, decide on the placement and glue to card front.
Find a sentiment on the paper collection and cut out. Layer with dimensional tape and adhere to card front. Glue a leaf and a little bird to the corner of the sentiment and the card is finished.

Red Bud Winter....

Good morning everyone!  It is a chilly Monday morning here in East Tennessee.  We are under a freeze warning and the temps are steadily dropping!  Here in the South, after Spring begins, we experience "little winters" where the temps drop and there is once again a chill in the air.  There is Red Bud Winter, which this is, and Dogwood Winter, and Blackberry Winter.  Now these little winters are when these trees are in bloom.  Then there is Whippoorwill Winter (I'm not sure if this is the correct spelling but it is for the bird).  And I can't remember when this one is.  My grandmother often spoke of these winters and she would tell us about them.  So Red Bud Winter it is this morning!

I'm still working on my cards for Easter and this easel card is inspired by Kathy Clement.  You can follow this link for many of her creations.

I only have a couple of Easter cards to go and I will be finished.  These little doves and Dogwood blossoms have been a big help in my creations!

Well this does it for me this morning.  Oh I just realized it's April 1st. Happy April Fools Day!
