WOYWW #529

Good morning friends!  We have landed on a Wednesday once again and I'm here sharing my desk with you!  If you are wondering why I'm blogging about a photograph of my desk, just head over to Julia's blog (she is the creator of this little bit of madness).  Julia has all the information listed along the top of her blog.

My desk is almost bare this morning. This is the bare bones of a Folio that I will be working on later.  I haven't been making cards or flowers this week.  Just hanging out and trying to stay cool.  The Southern US has been experiencing hot humid Dog Days of Summer weather and we are all suffering and longing for Fall!

Here are some of my flowers this year.  I spend a bit of time each morning before breakfast watering so that everything doesn't die.  Thankfully, they are all thriving for now!  I have been walking my little yorkies early as well or they don't get any exercise outdoors.

These are my beloved ferns!  Every year I buy 4 for this porch.  I have no idea why they flourish here as they receive the hot, hot, hot evening sun but they seem to love it here and I'm so thankful as I love them.  Of course they receive lots of water and the fronds also get water on them as well.  We have just experienced a cold front and this morning we are about 20 degrees cooler and we had a day of rain.  This woman is so happy that the temps are more normal for a bit!

Well that's it for me.  I'm off to visit as many of you guys as I can.

It's rather hot in the UK at the moment and of course we aren't really used to it. You have some gorgeous plants Glenda. Hope it stays cooler for you. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #10

Hi Glenda, love those ferns too. How beautiful. Very hot here, at least for us. Mid to high 30's is almost unheard of! Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #4 X

I have porch envy, lol!! How lovely to have a space like that for sitting out and admiring your ferns, they do look very happy there! It is unbearably hot in the UK too but at least we have the sea breezes here to help things a bit. The folder looks interesting, you'll have to show us how you get on!

Hi Glenda, we don't have a porch, but if we did I would want one just like yours! We have a summer house at the bottom of our garden where we can sit out in the evening. I'd love some ferns like yours, they are gorgeous! Have a lovely week Heather xx #9

Thanks for sharing your outdoors..Beautiful ferns and porch. That is something I really miss had a big wrap around with a swing and lots of hanging baskets. Here in the country the wind would destroy the hanging baskets. I miss my brick home so much. Thanks for the visit. Yes the cool down was a God send and I am enjoying it also. Have a great week Glenda.

What a gorgeous place you've got, Glenda! The ferns are so beautiful, and I am sure they provide much needed shade in the house when it's hot. Very pretty flowers, too. My hubby does the garden for us, and I'm responsible for the inside - although these days I tend to be in an advisory capacity only, making decisions and getting other people to implement them!! Thank you for your visit, and I'm so glad you like our new decorations. I wanted a bit of fun in that room that used to be so horrible.

Hi Glenda, it's hot here in Lincoln too (UK). I am very jealous that you always have such gorgeous porches over there and the ferns make it look even better. Hoping for cooler weather and wishing you a very happy woyww, Angela x13x

It's probably even been too hot to sit on that beautiful porch of yours. I'm not good with a humid heat. So glad to hear it's cooled off a little bit for you! Your ferns make your house look almost like a tropical setting. As you know, I'm sure, we're almost overrun with ferns here. They do well in sun or shade, wet or dry. Love them!

What a beautiful porch Glenda, I can imagine many a happy hour spent there having breakfast or enjoying watching the sun go down. Glad the weather has cooled down for you, in the UK the heat is set to rise even higher today..!
Look forward to seeing how your folio progresses.

I'm always impressed with your cards and now I'm impressed with your beautiful home and lovely flowers! YOU GO GIRL!! Yes we had those high 90s last week and I stayed hiding in my cave but this week is much better so have been able to spend a little time outside during the day vs wee hours of morning and late evening. Thanks for sharing ... was so nice to visit you today!

Hello Glenda! We have been experiencing the same weather here I am in the Northeast and yesterday and today finally feel so much better. The heat and humidity was brutal over the weekend. I have a flower and vegetable garden and kept thinking everything will die. Luckily they didn't but they took a beating for sure. Your plants look great. Thank you for stopping by yesterday. Let's enjoy this respite for I believe the heat is returning this weekend here.
