Valentine.......

As we are half way through January and closing in on February, I have begun to think about Valentines Day.  I need to make several cards and this is probably only my second one.  I love the Grand Madison Window die from Poppystamps.  I purchased this one from Joan's Gardens.  Joan carries lots of wonderful dies in her shop and she would welcome your dropping by.  I love to go browse through and almost always come up with something I just can't live without.

I cut the window out of white card stock and just adhered it to the center of my card.  Some pretty paper a few flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts a Spellbinders heart die and of course a sentiment from Heartfelt Creations.  Oh I almost forgot about my new butterfly die!  I love, love, love it!  It is the Vivienne Butterfly from Memory Box.  I cut it out of white card stock and added a little glitter to it...actually a lot of glitter...As far as I'm concerned all butterflies must be glittered!

So what do you think?  Do you think this might do for a manly Valentine?  Something about the dark paper just makes me think male.

OK that's all I have this morning.  I'm going for a good hot cup of coffee and then I'm going to visit some of my blogging friends.  Have a great day and remember to "Breathe".

A New Toy!

Good morning everyone!  I just a little excited this morning because I received a new toy yesterday to add to my crafting world!  I purchased the Tim Holtz Alterations Movers and Shapers Die (Tag and Bookplates) and it came in the box yesterday!  Well I just had to give it a try and it works beautifully!  You gotta love it when a plan comes together!

Please forgive my terrible picture; sometimes it just doesn't work for me!  I made the tag using the new die and one of the bookplates on the die!  I glued some design paper to the front of the diecut and taped down some lace and a ribbon.  I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of cardstock and cut out with scissors and glued to the back of the bookplate.  I love this piece...it looks so shabby chic to me (the bookplate that is).
Next I added a flower from wild Orchid Crafts and a couple of rosebuds and some stamen just because.  Now I have another wonderful tag to put away for just the right time when I need it!  How easy was that!  Now I don't have to go out and shop for tags anymore!  I love it!!

Another Tag for My Stash......

I was into making tags when Joan over at joanscreations.blogspot.com was having the weekly tag challenge on her blog.  I love the idea of having a little extra gift to slip down into a gift bag just for that special someone!  So this morning I have a tag to share with you.

I just love this image of the little boy and girl and they are stamped onto watercolor paper and colored with Ranger Distress Inks.  I cut out the image using a Spellbinders Oval die and added a Spellbinder edge along the right side of the tag.  The tag and decorative edge had been colored with Distress Inks and then sprayed with Pearl Ex Spray.  It gives the tag a sort of aged shimmery look and feel.  I added little flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts that have been colored with Inks and sprayed with the shimmer spray also.

Now this little number will be waiting in my cabinet for just the right time and I will slip it down into a bag to go along to someone special.  I love having cards and gift tags stored up and ready to go.  It seems like that is the only thing I have under control these days.  Life has been tedious at best lately.  It is so hot you can't be outside for any length of time and I'm beginning to feel shut in...Cabin Fever...  The problem is, August is next before we have any sort of cool down.  I checked my flower beds this morning and they are overgrown with weeds!  I spent an hour pulling weeds and I have several more hours of work before they will look normal again.  So I will have to get out early and work a little each day for a few days.  (Not my favorite chore)  Nothing like standing with your butt stuck up in the air for all the neighbors to see...Oh well, maybe they will all sleep in for a few days!

I'm posting early, and I'm off for a second cup of coffee so I can face the day!  Have a great day and if you find yourself outside, with your butt stuck up in the air, just remember to Breathe!

For He loves us with unfailing love........

Good morning bloggers!  I hope you are doing well, it's all good here.  This morning I want to share another card I made using this little Magnolia Stamp and some flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts!  I think this little dear is so cute standing there holding her little flower (I made it a sunflower).  I colored the image with Distress Inks and sprayed the white flowers with some of my homemade Pearl Ex spray.  The sentiment is from Heartfelt Creations and the design paper and card stock are from Hobby Lobby.  I think this would make a wonderful "Encouragement" card and plan to add to my stash so it will be ready when I need it!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend planned and that your weather is good.  We don't have any special plans; just going with the flow...that's what old people do!  So wherever you are and whatever you are doing, find a moment and just "Breathe"!
