What's On Your Workdesk? Week #544...

Well another week has come and gone since I last visited with you but we have come to the middle of the week again!  I'm always happy to get to visit with you and spend time pilfering around your craft space!  I'm just a snoop at heart.  If you would like to join us just head over the Julia's blog and have a look around.  She has instructions for linking to her blog so you can become part of the blog hop.

Although my desk is kind of messy, there isn't a lot going on...just working on another tissue box cover for the nursing home.  I need to make several more.  I have been sort of slow to getting these done but I've been doing some winterizing and I spread some grass seed to help my front yard.  We had a wind storm come through several days ago and I had lots of limbs down in the back so I had to get those to the street for pick up.  I've been moving outside cushions to the basement for winter storage and just getting ready for cold temps.

The kleenex box cover here will be for a man so no flowers for it.  I would rather work on boxes for ladies so I can add flowers but the guys have to blow too! LOL...

Well ladies that does it for me this week.  I'm off to link up and visit as many of you as I can!

Hello Glenda. Yes, I guess all of us up here in the Northern hemisphere are preparing for winter - Snowdon has had its first snow already! Loving the gift of tissue box covers - they can be such boring items without covers, can't they?!
Take care. God bless.

Very nice to make pretty boxes to cover tissues!
We're winterizing too. Our heater guy is here right now checking it out and making sure it is safe and working properly.
Have a great week!

They always look so nice when covered in designer covers, I made both Mum's one a few years ago and they use them every day. Good luck with the garden clean up for Winter, ours is now on hold until spring now as the rains have put our plans aside sadly. Have fun with those box covers & happy WoywW Tracey #11

We’ve got the cold weather here Glenda. The heating is on and so are my thick tights and boots.
I like your tissue box covers. What a great gift

Sounds like it's not just me that finds stuff for men difficult to do. I hate having to do the usual football, gardening, you know the masculine style cards and try to come up with something different but don't find it easy. Loving the boxes though they are a great idea for a gift. Thanks for the visit to mine and happy woyww, Angela x11x

I'm playing catch up with my WOYWW visits before my first customer arrives this morning. It was a busy day for me yesterday!
Thank you for visiting me and for your lovely comment.
I will look forward to seeing what you do for the men.
Hugs,

Sounds like you're doing the same thing I've been doing! We too had that terrible wind last week (kinda scary actually) ... blew my grill half way across the deck. Spent yesterday getting the outside furniture all hauled to the basement for another year so I think we are pretty well set now!
I love making these tissue box covers and sell a LOT of them ... everyone thinks they are a very clever idea since they will fold down and can be stored away. I'm sure the folks at the nursing home will love having these pretty boxes at their bedside. I have found the guys like the plaids & nautical themed boxes the best. Have a great day and thanks for always sharing such wonderful inspiration!!

Hope your winter preparations are nearly complete Glenda. A good excuse to hunker down in our craft rooms though. I like the tissue box (even without flowers). Happy belated WOYWW. Sarah #5

Sorry I’m late lovely Glenda. How nice that you’re making more tissue box covers...such a nice idea for the home. How great that you can put fallen limbs out for kerb side collection, not an option here. Having said that, we probably dont suffer similar wind trauma so often! YOu asked about the moulds I was using - I bought them from a cake decorating ‘shop’ on eBay. They are grey soft silicone and very detailed. I was a bit dubious but the foam clay picks up all the detail with absolutely no effort at all!

It's kind of you to do these tissue box covers for the folks at the nursing home. Yes, even the guys have to blow! It sure is a lot of work getting ready for winter. Same with spring, though, when you bring it all back out and get the garden ready.
