WOYWW #533

Good morning all!  It's Wednesday and once again time to share my desk with you.  If you are new here and wondering why I'm showing a photo of my desk, head over to Julia's Blog and have a look around.  She has all the details there at the top of her blog.  This is a world wide blog hop that has been happening each Wednesday and we just link our desk to Julia's blog and then we can have a snoop around each other's desk.  It is so much fun and gives us a break in our routine each and every Wednesday.  So come join us; we are harmless and friendly and always welcoming to new folks!

I took the time yesterday to clean off my desk so there isn't much going on here right now.  I had a few errands to run so my time at home was limited and so it remained clean.  I did this shaker piece for an upcoming Christmas card but haven't gone any further with it.  So it sits waiting for me get motivated again.

We have been so very hot here in East Tennessee so about all I want to do is sit under the air conditioner and veg out.  I do have to get outdoors and fill the bird baths and water my flowers but that is about it for my outdoor activities.  The poor birds are struggling with the heat too so I try and put fresh water in the birdbaths twice a day for them.  A nice cool splash sure feels good for them!  As for the flowers, they are really taking a hit and I don't know if they will pull through but the season is closing so it will be ok.

Morning Glenda. I love the picture which will become a shaker card. Your desk is so very neat and tidy - I must just finish a couple of commissions then I can do the same - hit it hard with a duster and polish!
It got really hot here for a couple of weeks, but has cooled off considerably now. I admit that, as a red head, I really don't cope well with the heat - I feel for the birds - well done on the water in the bird bath - I have a pond they can use.
Take care. God bless.

I am so thankful for people like you who look after our feathered friends. That is so kind and thoughtful of you to change the water for them as you do. Hope it starts to cool off for you all.
Lovely Christmas piece that will look striking on the finished card and I hope we get to see it.
Hugs, Neet 10 xx

It really doesn't take much to look after all the creatures, does it? And water is so important especially in the temperatures you've been enduring. I didn't realise that bees have to drink quite a bit as well, so we've put out a shallow dish with water for them, with large pebbles so they don't drown. That shaker topper is really pretty, perfect for a C card!

That's some neat desk Glenda! And aaww, poor girl.. heath is something I cannot cope with. So sweet of you to care for the birds, I hope it cools down soon so you can get creative again. I'm so happy that we have 'normal' sunny and nice weather here in the Netherlands, I couldn't stand the heat wave back in July . Happy woyww and a big hug from Holland! Marit #17

So important to give the little birdies water to bath in during the hot weather, Glenda! Well done you. My hubby fills our bird bath too, but then Lily, one of our kitties, always jumps up and pats at the water with her paw - she's fascinated by the bird bath - and of course the birdies won't come when she's around! Sorry it's been so hot where you are. We've had some pleasant sunny days lately but not too hot thank goodness, because I can't bear being too hot!!

Thank you for your visit and I'm glad you enjoyed reading about my flour sack towels project. I do hope you will do it too. I'm so thrilled with them and enjoy using them - the system seems to be working very well.

Happy WOYWW,

Hi Glenda.
Thanks for stopping by. Your lovely tidy workdesk looks so inviting. Your work is exquisite - the beautiful Pansey cardin your previous post brought back memories of my Granny - they were her favourite flowers, and I once did an embroidery for her that was very similar in design.
Hope you get a break in the hot weather soon.

Well I'm not sure what this will turn into at the end, but one thing I know for sure is that it's going to be AMAZING! Your coloring on this panel is perfect and I can't wait to see the final product! I'm very intrigued with this one! LOL Happy Day!!
