New Year's Eve.....

As this year is winding down, I want to take a moment and tell you how very much you mean to me!  This has been a very hard year for me in a lot of ways, with lots of changes in my life.  But it has also been a good year too.  I have learned some good lessons along the way and feel that I have grown as a person.  We just never know what curve balls life is going to throw our way but I guess the key is to just keep moving.  I've always felt lthat a moving target is harder to hit!  My goal for the new year is to try and be more creative and to practice what I preach.  I'm always telling you to "Breathe" and this year I want to give that a try .

I appreciate each and every one of my followers and your faithful visits mean so much.  Your comments are so dear to me.  Thank you again for being there.

Now I want to share a box I altered for a Christmas gift to my daughter.

I found this jewelry box on clearance with a big scratch along the back.  I loved the shape of the box and the fact there was a window top to it.  Other than the scratch, the box was perfect; so I just had to have it.  So I made flowers to cover the scratch and it made a wonderful gift for my daughter for Christmas.

That's it for me this morning.  I'm still trying to get my house back in shape after the holiday rush.
I hope you have wonderful New Year's Eve plans and that your holiday is a safe one.  Be sure and come back to visit on Wednesday as it will be Heartfelt Creations Wednesday!

Welcome to Heartfelt Creations Wednesday!

It is the day after Christmas and we are all winding down trying to get back on track.  The packages are gone from under the tree and the house is quiet once again.  I woke to wind and rain as a cold front is moving through.  So many people all around us are having severe weather, and I feel very lucky to live where I do and to just have the rain....people to the South of me are experiencing severe storms and to the North of me, there is snow.

So I'm here to share with you a card I have made for Heartfelt Creations

Heartfelt Creations Products Used:
HCPC 3497 Script Aster Background PreCut Set
HCPC 3494 Delicate Asters PreCut Set
HCD 726 Delicate Asters Die
Other Supplies: Spellbinders dies (Floral Ovals, Romantic Rectangles, Fancy Lattice, Venetian Motifs), glue, glitter, clear acrylic spray, Paper Blossoms tool kit, Canson watercolor paper, Memento Ink, Paper Studios  Sticky Doos
Instructions:  Card Size 4 1/4" X 5 1/2"
Make card base and then cut out the rectangle die and glue to the card base.  Next I stamped and cut out the leaves and swirls and also cut out the lattice; I applied glue to these items and then sprinkled glitter over them and allowed to dry.  When dry, I sprayed with the acrylic to keep the glitter from coming off my project.  Next I stamped and cut out the flower petals and shaped them the way I wanted them to look and glued them together.  Now I glue the lattice piece to my card base.  I stamped the sentiment and cut out using the ovals die and attached it with sticky doos over the lattice. Now comes the fun part; decide where you want the flowers and leaves and swirls to go and glue them down.  Your card is now finished.
Today there are some beautiful creations featured over on the Heartfelt Creations blog.  You should go have a little visit and look around.  And as always, you can visit each of the designer's blogs by clicking on their names on the right hand side of my blog.  We all love hearing from you so if you visit, leave us a comment!
Well that's it for me today; I hope your day is a good one and that you find a little joy in it!

WOYWW #186

Suddenly it is the day after Christmas and time once again for WOYWW!  If you don't know what I'm talking about just head over to Julia's blog and have a look around.  Those of us who participate take a picture of our work desk and post it to our blog then we link it over on Julia's blog so that we can visit each other and see what is going on all over the world.  So here is my desk....

I've been working on some cards and this is the left over mess.  My lighter seems to be always in the foreground as I use it to light candles and to burn off ends of edgings.  My glitter glue, a spray bottle with shimmer spray inside, some ink a glass of water I use to clean my brushes with when I color with distress inks.  Just the usual mix match of products lying about waiting to be put away so I can start my next session.  So there you have it.  Hope your day is a good one.  Now I'm off to visit the rest of the WOYWW group!

From My House to Yours.....Merry Christmas!

This is Abby one of my fur babies...Maggie was asleep in her brand new bed!

I have been missing in action a lot lately.  I've been nursing a smashed thumb and it has been so hard to create.  It is slowly beginning to come round but I'm slow in all I do.  This is a picture of one end of my living room with my tree.

So from my house to yours, I want to wish you a very merry Christmas!  I hope you all have a joyous holiday and get to spend good times with family and friends!

Birthday Card.....

Good morning everyone and welcome to a brand new week.  We are getting very close to the Christmas Holiday and everyone is getting a little frantic.  I'm trying to finish everything as I have been out of commission for about a week.  I slammed my right thumb in the car door one day last week and I've been nursing it trying to get it back to some sort of normal motion and it is finally beginning to come around.  It is still very swollen and I can't do delicate work on my cards yet and I really needed to be able to finish my tags and things before the holiday.  Everything looks a little plain because I just can't shape flowers or tie bows.  I'm hoping that will come back soon.  So, that being said, here is a birthday card I needed for an upcoming birthday and to me it is just lacking a bow or some festive flowers, but it is what it is.

I  used some pretty Heartfelt Creations papers from the Delicate Asters Collection, some Spellbinders dies and a sentiment from Heartfelt Creations as well.

Well that is it for me...I'm off to put my thumb on ice and try and get some swelling down.  Hope your day is good one and that you take a moment and "Breathe".

The Everlasting Light

Good Morning fellow bloggers!  I hope you have had a good weekend and are ready to face the coming week!  As we continue the mad dash to Christmas, I'm here to share another tag I have made for the season.  I am actually sending some tags in the mail instead of Christmas cards.  This one is for a special friend just to let them know I'm thinking of them.  I love tags and they can be used in so many ways and this one will actually become a Christmas card.

There is some bling on all the embossing and around the sentiment, but my photo just didn't pick up that.  Sometimes shine can be quite difficult to capture.  I added some glitter to clear embossing powder and then embossed the raised edges of the embossing and the edges of the sentiment.   My poinsettia and the sentiment are from Heartfelt Creations.  I used HCPC 3431 Nativity Scene PreCut Set for the sentiment and HCPC 3415 Petite Poinsettia PreCut Set for the flower.

Well that does it for me this morning.  I hope you have a wonderful day and that you take a moment just for you and "Breathe"!

The Wonder of the Season

Good Friday morning to everyone!  We have almost made it through another week.  It seems time is just flying by and before you know it, we will be heading into a new year.  We have been blessed with wonderful weather here in East Tennessee but a little snow would be welcomed by this old lady.  There is nothing like a White Christams.

This morning I'm here to share a tag I made for Heartfelt Creations.

Heartfelt Creations Products Used:
HCPC 3415 Petite Poinsettia PreCut Set
HCPC 3421 Dove of Peace PreCut Set

HCDP1 225 Frosty Blanket Paper Collection
Other Supplies: tag, Spellbinders Antique Frames and Accents, glue, lace, Memento Ink, seam binding, Scor-Tape, Canson watercolor paper, Gala Glitz

Instructions: Cut a piece of designer paper to fit the tag and glue it to the face of the tag.  Next I adhered a piece of lace to the bottom of the tag.  I stamped the sentiment on a piece of watercolor paper and cut out using the die.  Next I glued this to the top of my tag.  Then I stamped and embossed the flower onto a piece of the designer paper.  I used gold embossing powder.  I glued  the petals together and then glued to the bottom of the tag, positioning it where I wanted it over the lace.    Next I added the Gala Glitz to the center of the flower.  Cut a piece of seam binding and thread it through the hole in the top of the tag and the tag is ready to be tucked down into a gift bag.
Well this does it for me this morning.  Have a wonderful day and try and take a moment just for you and "Breathe"!

WOYWW #182

Where in the world have you guys been?  I've missed you so much.....Just kidding.  I have been missing in action these last several weeks, but I have been productive.  Getting started with a new design team does take me some time.  I'm a slow creator and don't do a card in an hour....sometimes it takes me 3 or 4 hours and I will lay it aside and come back to it later and that 3 or 4 hours can span a couple of days.  Anyway I'm back and I have missed you guys so very much!  I'm hoping to be around more in the coming weeks as I still find I'm totally addicted to WOYWW!  Now if you are new to my blog and don't know what I'm talking about, each week those of us who participate, take a picture of our work desk and post it to our blog as I'm doing now and then link the post to Julia Dunnit's blog.  That way we can visit each other and see what is going on with us.  So go on over to Julia's blog and have a look around.  We might just get you addicted too!

Not too messy...right?  Well I have been working on a couple of projects for the design team that I couldn't show.  Sorry!  But, as you can see, I really don't have a large space, so I have to try and keep it tidy or I can't find anything.  And isn't this a big advertisement for Coke?  I just needed a shot of caffeine an grabbed the first thing I saw.

Well that's it for me this morning.   Come back a little later and I will have a post for Heartfelt Creations to show you!  Now I'm off to visit as many people as I can and play catch up!

My card is done on parchment paper and I stamped and embossed the image with embossing powder, and then embossed it with an embossing tool.

OK that's it for me this morning.  I have a lot going on today.  I'm mid-way putting up my tree and need to get moving or it will still be naked come tomorrow!  Have a wonderful day and no matter where you wind up or what you are doing, take a moment just for you and Breathe!

Welcome to Heartfelt Creations Wednesday!!

I think my title says it all!  This is my first post for my third term with the Heartfelt Creations design team and I am super excited to be back among friends!  As you know I love this company and believe in what they are doing.  Their stamps are top quality and such beautiful images and dies and the flowers stamps and dies are simply amazing.  Can you tell I'm  happy to be back?

That being said, here is my first card:

Faith Is:
Heartfelt Creations Products Used:
HCPC 3500 Open Vintage Floret PreCut Set
HCPC 3502 Mini Vintage Floret PreCut Set
HCPC 3309 Faith Heb.11:1 PreCut Set
HCPC 3494 Delicate Asters PreCut Set
HCD 727 Vintage Floret Die
HCD 726 Delicate Asters die
HCDP1-226 Delicate Asters Collection Paper

Other Supplies: Canson watercolor paper, white card stock, Spellbinders dies (Std. Circles Large, Lacey Circles and Venetian Motifs) Ranger Distress Inks in Scattered Straw, Forest Moss  and Victorian Velvet, glue, Shimmer Spray, Scor-Tape, Wooden Skewer, Paper Blossoms Tool Kit, piercing mat, Memento Ink in brown and black
Instructions: Card Size 6” X 6”
Make card base out of watercolor paper, I use this for added stability.  Next I cut a piece of the design paper in a 6” X 6” size.  I sprayed this with the shimmer spray and left to dry.  Once dry, I adhered it to the card base.  Next I stamped my sentiment on a piece of watercolor paper and cut out using the Lacey die.  I created a frame using two of the circle dies and a piece of the paper from the stack.  I edged the frame with distress ink. Glue this frame to the sentiment piece and then adhere it to the card base.  Now it is time to work on the flowers.  I stamped and cut out the flowers from white card stock; then I used the distress inks to color the petals.  I sprayed the petals with shimmer spray and wound them around a skewer and then I pinched the petals to give them a more natural look.  As the petals began to dry I added more of the darker color of ink to the edges of the petals because the spray caused the ink to run and blend a little and I wanted the darker tones.  When the petals are all dry I use the spongy piercing mat and the embossing tools to shape them a little more.  Glue them together and set aside to dry.  While your flowers are drying stamp the leaves and cut them out as well as the swirls.  Position the flowers and the leaves and swirls where you like them and glue down.  I think the papers and the flowers give this card a soft elegant feel.

You can head over to the Heartfelt Creations blog for more beautiful creations and loads of creative ideas.  Also you can click on the design team names to the right on my blog to visit each members blog.  Go visit and leave a comment...we love hearing from you.

A Quick and Easy Tag.....

Good morning everyone!  I'm here to share a quick and simple tag I have made to go along with a Christmas gift.  Tags are so wonderful, I think, as they can go along with a gift or be tucked down inside a gift bag or they can just be a gift all on their own.  I just added some Distress inks and spritzed the tag with shimmer spray.  Once it was dry I cut out some Spellbinders dies and stamped the sentiment and a little ribbon and it is ready to go.  How easy is that?

Well that's it for me this morning.  I will be back on Wednesday with my first official post with the Heartfelt Creations Design Team.  Come back and visit, we'll do coffee!

Holiday Card.....

A few weeks ago, we were creating these wonderful creations using egg shells and Alcohol Inks and while I was playing with this technique I made two different colorings.  I posted one window and saved this one for later.  It laid here and I moved it here and there trying to keep it out of my way but not out of my sight.  I kept wondering if I would get the opportunity to use this piece or not.  Well Joan's Gardens challenge this week calls for you to use the colors White, Red and Green.  Now how cool is that?  This piece just fit right in.  I added the christmas papers and glued down my window and away we go.

Now I know I usually post on Friday mornings and here it is late afternoon, but I have just been playing some today and before you know it, it was getting late and I knew if I was going to do this today I better get cracking.

So this is it for me today.  I'm hoping to see you again on Monday morning.  Have a wonderful weekend.

Monday, November 5, 2012

Good morning everyone!  This is my second post this morning but I really wanted to show you this card I made for Heartfelt Creations   This was one of the projects I submitted for the final round of competition for the design team.

Heartfelt Creations Products Used:
HCPC 3468 Tattered Blossoms PreCut Set
HCD 722 Tattered Blossoms Die
HCPC 340l Bella Rose Scroll PreCut Set
HCPC 3405 Leaf Medley PreCut Set
October Paper Pack

Other Supplies Used: Spellbinders dies (Squares Large, Lace Doily Motifs) glitter, Memento Ink, shimmer sprays, Ranger Distress Inks, glue, Scor-Tape, Canson Watercolor Paper, dimensional tape, green card stock, white card stock, Paper Blossoms Tool Kit

Instructions:  Card Size 6” X 6”
I used watercolor paper for the card base for stability.  Cut a piece of design paper just a little smaller and adhere to the card base.  Next I cut out the motifs using watercolor paper and set aside.  I stamped the sentiment on a piece of watercolor paper and cut out using one of the square dies.  Next I created a frame for the sentiment using two of the square dies.  I placed one inside the other and cut them out of watercolor paper.  I put some dimensional tape behind the frame and adhered it to the stamped piece and then glued that to the square motif.  Mount the square motif to the center of the card base and position the decorative pieces around the square and glue them down.  I then stamped and cut the leaves using the green card stock and some ink was added to the edges.  I sprayed these with the shimmer spray and while damp I used the tool kit to shape the leaves until I was happy with the look.  Next I stamped the flowers onto plain white card stock and used distress inks to color.  I used water to dampen the petals and shaped them and then laid them aside to dry.  Once dry I glued the layers together and added some glitter to the center of the flowers.  I positioned the flowers and leaves around the square motif until I was happy with the look and then I glued them down.

Ornament.....

Good morning everyone and happy Monday!  This morning I have made an ornament for my
tree and I wanted to share.  This is not a new technique and for the life of me I cannot remember where I saw this...it might have been Pinterest, but I'm not sure.  So sorry.  Anyway I cut out a shape and and ran it through my Cuttlebug with an embossing folder.  Actually I did two and glued them together so the front and back of the ornament are pretty.   Next you use a sponge and start laying down color, some blues and greens and then a brown until you achieve an antiqued look.  Mine really needed some more green, but I sort of liked the look of it anyway.  Once your color suites you, you rub an embossing pad over the raised edges and sprinkle some embossing powder over that just here and there.  Then emboss!  My photo, of course, does not show the pretty glittery gold embossing that I can see in person.  You can choose your own colors, use three or four and then just some pretty silver, gold, or bronze embossing powder.  Let your imagination just run all over the place.  Each year I try several ornaments and add one or two for my own tree and give a couple as gifts.  They make lovely keepsakes and are not expensive at all!

Well that's it for me this morning!  I hope your day is a good one and that you find some joy in it!  No matter where you are or what you are doing, try and take a moment to "Breathe"!

A Little Sparkle.....

Good morning everyone!  We are slipping into another weekend and I'm here to share another card I made this week.  I just love this little image and think she will make a cute Christmas card to send or maybe she will be going to the nursing home patients.  I haven't decided just yet on this one.  I sparkled her little antlers and necklace but the sparkle just didn't show up in the picture.  Trust me it's there.  I love how you can take a little card stock, some inks, a few dies and lots of glitter and come up with a sweet holiday card.  Now how easy was that!

Well, that's it for me this morning.  Have a wonderful day and no matter where you are or what you are doing, I hope you can find a little time to "Breathe".  My wish for you today is that you can find a little joy in your day.

A Sympathy Card.....

I usually try and keep a few sympathy cards on hand...we all need them now and then.  I love lots of white when I do one of these cards with just a tiny bit of color.  To me it is just a quiet elegance that you need for such an occasion.  I used an embossing folder for the card base and then Spellbinders dies for all the layers.  I found these flowers at a scrapbook store I visited in Pigeon Forge and I just don't remember who the maker is.  I think they are just the pop of color this card needed.  The sentiment is from Heartfelt Creations.

Well people, it's Monday again and winter is visiting us here in the Tennessee Valley!  We are not scheduled for any of the snow, we scooted by again.  I understand the mountains here were scheduled to receive a foot of snow overnight!  I would love to see that!

Well that's all for me this morning!  Have a wonderful day and try and find time to be creative!

WOYWW #177

Oh my goodness, it is already Wednesday and time for another dead run through as many work spaces as I can before nightfall!  No, I have not totally gone over the edge...if that had been the case, trust me, I would have taken a few of you with me.  If you don't know what I'm talking about head on over to Julia's blog: http://stamping-ground.blogspot.com  and have a little look around.  Crafters come from all over the world to link their blog posts to this little lady's blog and then we can peek into craft areas and see what we all have going on.  I have to say, I have been doing this for over a year and I'm quite taken with the concept.  I have made new friends along the way and have watched this grow and grow.  I would be lost if Julia decided to stop this madness!  So now on to my desk this week.

The window is going to be a focal point on a card that I have in mind.  This is what happened with the egg shells from last week.  I made two windows using this technique and I love how they both turned out.  You can scroll down a couple of  entries and see the card I did using the smaller window.  This technique would be beautiful if you have any kind of scroll work die or use any dies to make some kind of frame.  I have also been working on a little Magnolia image.  I stamped this one and then scanned it into my computer and printed onto my water color paper.  I wanted to change the size to fit this oval to work with a card I have in mind.  She doesn't show up very well in my picture, but I have only just begun to color her in.  I'm hoping she turns out well.

Well I've gotten a little long winded but  I'm going to hush now and go check out some of the blogs this morning and see what you guys have been into this week.  Have a wonderful WOYWW Wednesday!

I'm on a Roll....

Good morning everyone.  I'm here to share another holiday card I have made using a Mo Manning digital image.  I colored her with distress inks and brushes and I really love how she turned out.  Some pretty elements and some holiday paper and she is all set to go.

Have you started your holiday cards yet?  I'm getting several made and of course some of mine will be sent to the nursing home.  I really like to hand deliver the ones I give away and that way I get a little visit too.

I hope you have a great day planned today.  We are experiencing some gorgeous Fall weather here in East Tennessee.  The trees are beginning to turn and there are pops of color everywhere.  Have a great day and remember to "Breathe"!

Stained Glass Technique ....

Good morning everyone.  If you visited me on Wednesday and saw the egg shells lying on my desk, this is what happened to them.  You start by cracking the eggs, then soak in a solution of dish washing liquid and bleach.  This also loosens the membrane so you can peel it out.  Once you do that you lay the egg shells out to dry over night.  Next you take a piece of card stock and put down a layer of Mod Podge and place egg shell pieces on that and gently press down into the Mod Podge.  this cracks the piece of egg shell and you have little spaces in and around the egg shell.  This is OK...just keep working around until you have covered  your piece of card stock.  Set it aside to dry.  Take your time this needs to dry out.  Next I added another layer of Mod Podge over the egg shells and let that dry.  Once the piece is dry, I sprayed with shimmer spray and dropped Alcohol Ink into the mix.  When you have it where you want  it you spray again with shimmer spray.  I was afraid my piece looked muddied and was not happy with it.  I thought the colors were too bold so I added a layer of
Windsor and Newton Iridescent Medium.  When this was dry, I still was not happy so I added a thin coat of Metallic Pearl White paint and then wiped some of it back off the piece.  I still wasn't happy with it but let it dry and cut out my window and placed it over the piece and suddenly it came alive.  I really love it now.  So then I punched out some green ferns and tied a bow and then cut out a Spellbinders label and stamped my sentiment, glued it all together you you have a pretty Holiday card.

I have two of these window dies, this one is the small one.  I also did a piece using the larger window and I will have a card coming soon.  I have to say the piece that was laid over the egg shells is what made it work for me.  So give this a try, it's not hard at all and the finished product can be quite beautiful.

WOYWW #176

I can hardly believe it is time once again for sharing my workspace with you.  If you don't know what the heck I'm talking about, just head over to Julia Dunnit's blog and have a look around.  We take a picture of our space and blog about it then link our blog at Julia's blog.  Then we can all go have a look around and visit each other's desks!  I'm totally addicted!  So now here we go!

Now I know it looks like I'm having my breakfast here but the egg shells are for a technique I'm going to be working on.  I got the idea from http://selmasstampingcorner.blogspot.com/2012/10/eggshell-mosaic.html
When you are finshed you wind up with a stained glass look.  I can't wait to try this technique and hope to be showing you some pretty projects soon.

I had a morning of shopping with my sister "The Enabler" and the things I purchased are still lying on my desk.  Also a cute  Mo Manning image I'm painting for a Christmas project.  Then of course I have the usual stuff lying about waiting to be used or put away.

Well that does it for me this morning.  I'm off to visit as many of you as I can before my time gets away from me.

Load the Sleigh.....

As we begin another week, I want to share with you  my latest Christmas Card.  The image is from a couple of years ago and it is a Just Rite stamp, but I can't for the life of me remember the name of the set.  I colored the sleigh and packages with distress inks and then cut out using Spellbinders Decorative Labels Eight.  I layered some pretty vintage looking papers and tied a green ribbon into a bow using my Bow Easy and it's all ready to go.  It was actually a pretty quick and easy card.  I just love these dies from Spellbinders.  I think they are so elegant and just make a gorgeous card.

Well that's it for me.  Short and sweet this morning.  I hope you find some joy in your day and take a moment and "Breathe"!

White on White Holiday Card....

Good morning everyone.  Here we are with again ready to jump into the weekend and I for one am ready!  We have had a few days of rain and cooler temps and now we are warming back into the 70's...very nice!  I love this time of year!

This morning I'm sharing another holiday card I made using the embossing paste and glitter and a brass stencil.  The glitter isn't showing that well, but it is there.  I stamped the sentiment onto white card stock and cut out the frame using a Spellbinders die.  A little white ribbon and it is finished.  This is much better in person.  Sometimes my camera just doesn't pick up everything the way I want it to.  It's not the camera...it's the camera operator I'm afraid.  My photography skills are greatly lacking.

Well I hope you have a wonderful weekend planned.  As for me, I plan to play as much as I can!  Most of my chores are done and I will have some quiet time just for me.  I think I'll "Breathe"!

WOYWW #175

Good morning everyone and welcome to WOYWW #175.  Fellow WOYWW participants all over the world gather on Wednesday and show you our work desks!  If you would like to become one of us just head over to Julia's blog and you can get all the details there.  Basically we all take a picture of our mess and post it to our blogs then we link that on Julia's blog, then we can visit each other.  I am totally addicted to this madness and when I have to miss a Wednesday, I feel a little lost.

So just look at the mess on my desk this week.  Lots of left over supplies that are waiting to be put away, but looking pretty good.  I actually like to keep my space neat because I function better that way.

So that's it for me this week.  Short and sweet and on to visit as many people as I can.  Have a great day and no  matter where you are or what you happen to be doing, take a moment for yourself and "Breathe"!

Winter Houses.....

Good morning everyone.  I'm here to share another card I made for my Holiday stash.  I have been trying to use some products that I have had for ages and this card uses some of those and an older technique.  I used Dreamweaver Translucent Embossing Paste and a stencil to create these cute little houses on black card stock.  While the paste was still wet I sprinkled glitter over it.  The image was then matted onto gold card stock after everything was dry.  I really like the look of this and think it worked into a pretty holiday card.

I have also been doing some of this on white card stock using the glitter.  It gives it an  icy feel and I think it is quite lovely.  Have you started  your holiday cards yet?

Well that's it for me this morning.  I hope you have a good Monday and that you take a moment for yourself and "Breathe"!

A CAS Holiday Card to Share....

Good morning everyone...we almost have another week under our belts and we are quickly moving into the Fall season and suddenly it will be Christmas!  In keeping with that, I wanted to do a clean and simple card that could go easily into the mail.  You know me, I love 6 x 6 cards holding all I can get on them and then some.  But when it comes to mailing them, we have to be realistic and scale it back a little.  So a little color, a few dies, some pretty paper and a little bling and it is off to a special friend.

I hope you have a great weekend planned.  As for me I plan to relax a little after the hectic week I have had.  Lots of chores that had to be done getting the outside ready for winter.  I'm going to put up my feet and play a little!  I hope you can do the same and have a little time just for you and remember to Breathe!

WOYWW #174

Happy WOYWW everyone!  It's time for another picture of my little corner of the world and a tiny mess today.  Every Wednesday we post a picture of our work desk and then link it to Julia's Blog.
Then we can visit each other's desks and see what is going on.  I can visit desks all over the world and see what kind of crafts everyone is into!  It's a wonderful addiction and I'm hooked!

I was thinking I needed to do some cleaning and pick up off my desk as I have been working on a couple of projects and so I took my messy picture for WOYWW.  Well when I uploaded it and had a good look at it, it actually looks pretty neat.  I just need to put a few things away before I start on my next project.  My usual cup of coffee, my phone, some Ranger Distress Inks, glue, shimmer spray and a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder...and everything is stacked together so it won't take long!  I really need to start taking a picture of it when it is really bad and save it to post on Wednesday.  Is that cheating?
It just seems like this time of the week, I'm in between projects and it's hard to have a mess because I always put things away from one project before I start another.

Well that's it for me this morning...short and sweet.  Now I'm off to visit as many desks as I can while I have my morning coffee!  Have a great day and no matter where you are or what you are into, take a moment and "Breathe"!

October 1........

Where in the world has this year gone?  Suddenly I look up and it's the beginning of October and everything will be in a flurry before you know it!

This morning I'm sharing a little image that has been made into a Christmas card.  We all need them and even though I no longer mail so many, I still need several.  This will go into my reserves and when the time grows nigh it will be sent to a family member or a friend.

So are you beginning to make your holiday cards?  What are your favorite colors to use?

That's it for me this morning.  Kinda short and sweet, but I have lots to do today and must get started.  I hope your Monday is a good one and that you take a moment to "Breathe"!

Fall Leaves....

Good morning everyone.  In case you forgot, it's Friday!  The weekend is just around the corner and all is right with my world!  This morning I'm here to share another card I have made.  I love making Fall cards and this little cutie is just perfect to grace the front of my card.

I colored her with Ranger distress inks and a brush and mounted her on a doily.  The rest is Spellbinders dies and designer paper.  The leaves began as plain white card stock from Wal Mart and I used the inks to color them.  Pretty easy once the image is colored.  This little cutie will be going to the nursing home so that patient can have a card to give when someone does them a kindness.

Well I hope you have wonderful plans for the weekend.  This old broad will be hanging out close to home doing her thing.  We are expecting rain so I will be playing indoors!  Not a bad thing.  Whatever you wind up doing and no matter where you are, take a moment and "Breathe"!

Cut card base out of water color paper for stability.  Cut a piece of white cardstock 3 ½” X 6” and run it through embossing machine with folder.  Adhere to the top of card base.  Cut out the lace border and adhere it with glue over the top of the embossed piece to cover the rest of the card base.   Cut two different sizes of the labels dies and use pop dots to adhere them together then use glue to adhere to card base.  Next I stamped the sentiment and used the die to cut it out and then I slid the tag across the edge of my desk to make it bow a little.  I then glued it to the bottom of the labels dies.  Next I cut out the foliage dies and swirls and added color where needed.  Just a soft touch because I wanted this to be basically all white.  I stamped the rose onto white card stock and cut out using scissors because I needed the center to be solid so I could glue it.  Shape the edges of the petals and glue the layers together to form the rose.  Position the foliage elements and swirls under the rose and glue everything to the card base.
