Peacocks.....

Good morning everyone.  I'm here this morning to share a card that I am entering in the Challenge over at Joan's Gardens .  Each week Joan has a challenge with a nice gift for the winner and I always love to play long because her challenges keep me on my toes.  This week the challenge calls for the following:

Use Pink and White
Use an Embossing Folder
Use a Die for an Opening on the Front of the Card
Use Leaves as Accents.

Of course I used Spellbinders Circles dies and the embossing folder is from Sizzix and is called Peacocks.  I used a punch to cut out the pink flowers with pearls for the centers and the leaves are Marianne designs Creatables.  I also used pearls for the eyes on the peacocks.  I used chalk to add a little color to the birds.  I hope you can see it, it doesn't show very well.

Well that is it for me this morning.  I hope your Monday is a good one!

Joan's Gardens Card Challenge #1

Good afternoon everyone!  I know it is rather late for me today, but better late than never.  I have had a couple of deadlines to meet and I really wanted to do this card so I could participate in Joan's Gardens' Challenge.

Here are the requirements for the challenge:

■Use two different Embossing Folders to create a background like in Selma's card. (Directions will be on Selma's blog)

■Use at least two different dies (preferably not layered dies - if you have them)
■Use a sentiment
■Use glitter and/or pearls

Once your card is finished you need to post it on your blog and then link it at Joan's Gardens blog.  When you get to her blog, there is a button at the top of the page; just click on the challenge button and then you can link your entry at the bottom of the page.

I think I have all the bases covered on this one and am so happy that Joan and Selma have decided to continue with their weekly challenges!  I always enjoy being a part of these.

Well this is short and sweet, I still have a couple of things that just have to happen today.  So I'm off to see if I can make it so!

Teal Flower...All the best..

Good morning everyone!  It's me again...can you believe it, two days in a row!  I think I'm on a roll these last few days.  I've been doing quite a bit of crafting and loving every minute of it!

I just want to share a card I made using HCPC 3399 Wedding Dove PreCut Set from Heartfelt Creations.heartfeltcreations.us.  These stamps from the new release are just so beautiful and I love the sentiments so much.  I made the flower using Spellbinders Dahlia Die and the embossing folder is from the Thank You Set from Sizzix.  The little butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch and of course I shimmered everything so it would shine.  I'm a shimmer kind of girl!

Well that is about it for me this morning.  I hope you have a great day and do something wonderful...!  And no matter where you are or what you are doing..... remember to Breathe!

A New Card To Share.....

Good morning my friends!  I hope you are ready to start a new week.  Father's Day has been celebrated in our household over the weekend and life is good.

I always have a difficult time doing sympathy cards and therefore I never have any on hand so I thought I would take this opportunity and do one to put back in my stash for when it is needed.  The card is made with watercolor paper as it is sturdy and I love the way it embosses and takes ink if you want to do that.  My card today is sort of clean and simple.  I used a Cuttlebug Folder, "Gracie's Frame" and then cut out an oval in the center of the frame.  I stamped my sentiment through the oval.  The sentiment I used is from a set of stamps from Heartfelt Creations.....HCPC 3377 Sympathy Sentiment PreCut Set.   I made a flower using the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals Die and some scraps of designer paper;  and the leaves are a Spellbinders Die (Foliage).  I sprayed different and various shimmer sprays to get the look I wanted to achieve, and manipulated the paper to have curls in it and hopefully make it look life like.

I think the card has a classy feel to it and will work well when needed.  The flower is quite dimensional and may pose a problem for mailing but I envision a mailing envelope with padding to protect it.

Well that is about it for me today.  I have lots of Suzi Homemaker chores to do but will be back soon with another card I made featuring another flower.  I'm going to try and pre-set this to post on it's own...if I can get that down pat, then I can post on Wednesday while I'm gone with my daughter.  If you are reading this...it worked.

Have a wonderful day and remember to "Breathe"!

JFF Color challenge #25...

I have to tell you, I just love these fall colors we have been working with and this week's colors are some of my favorites.  Orange, Olive and Rust just scream cooler temps to me.  Why don't you come play along with us...all you have to do is create a card or project using these colors and any JFF stamps you have.  If you don't have any yet, you can still play.  Then go to the JFF Blog : jffstamps.typepad.com/jffstamps/  and at the bottom of the post there will be a link button to link back to your card or project.   We love seeing what you come up with each week!  It is wonderful when you share!  And you have a chance to win a $50 Shopping Spree if you win!

For my card, I used E-3440  Fall Corn Swag and the sentiment is from the new set of sentiments (UMS7019) I just love these sentiments as they fit perfectly on the tags from Spellbinders.  You can get these stamps at the JFF website here:  jffstamps.com.

I stamped my image on watercolor paper and colored with Distress Inks from Ranger.   I added a little glitter to the acorn caps, but I don't think it shows very well.   I cut out the image using a Spellbinders Die and then a mat in dark olive with the same Dies just a little larger.  I cut out one of the tags from Spellbinders and ran ribbon through it for my sentiment.  The card base was embossed with a Sizzix embossing folder.
