What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday # 330

Good morning friends!  It's the middle of the week and time for me to show what is going on in my world!  Each week we take a photo of our desk and blog about it then link to Julia's blog.  I don't have a lot going on this week that I can show, so my desk looks pretty clean.

Hmmmm, I count 6 bottles of glue and three pairs of scissors!  Yes, I confess, I'm a hoarder of glue and never feel like I have all I need.  As for the scissors, I have one more pair that I use for cutting cloth and ribbon.  These black handled ones are for fussy cutting; the yellow handled ones are for general cutting and my Tim Holtz scissors are used for everything!  Love them!  The board to my right is my Envelope Punch Board by We Are Memory Keepers and I don't know if you can see it or not but that is sitting on my Big Shot.  My trusty Grand Calibur bit the dust two days ago.  It's one of those things that you use every day and never knew how much until it's gone!  The Big Shot is great but I find I have a difficult time trying to cut really intricate dies so I long for my Grand Calibur!

Well folks that is all for me this morning.  I'm off to link my blog and start the visits to everyone this morning.  I'm sure I'll find something to inspire me!

What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday#329

Hello friends and welcome to my Wednesday WOYWW post where a bunch of crafters get together and blog about what we are doing in our world.  Julia  is the owner and creator of this wonderful idea and I have to admit I am totally addicted to this Wednesday get together!  Just photograph your space and blog about it and then link your blog post to Julia's blog. You can visit as many of the crafters as you like by following their links and it becomes this wonderful blog hop!  Julia has all the details posted on her blog so you can follow the link above to find out all about it!

I thought this morning I would start showing you how I store my dies.  It's sort of messy right now and nothing is in order but I can put my hand on almost any die I want, so it is working for me.  I've used CD and video cases with a bit of magnet inside to hold the dies in place.  Some of the Home Stores here carry a magnetic sheet used to cover a metal vent when you don't want heat or air coming through. These work wonderfully and are only a fraction of the cost if  you purchase in the hobby store.

Below is my mess this morning.  I could barely find a place to set my coffee cup down this morning!  I'm working on a waterfall page for my mini album and for some reason I really struggled trying to get it to lay correctly.  There was a miss measurement somewhere and I went through a couple of pieces of cardstock before I finally wrapped my head around it and got it right!  Sometimes I just can't seem to focus.  I'm going to blame it on old age and move on!

As you can see I have ink, bling, glue...lots of glue, some glitter, lace and string of pearls.  Once I finish covering the black cardstock with some of the pretty papers then I also get to decorate.  That's the fun part!

I hope I'm not too long winded this morning.  It's best to keep this short and sweet.  I'm hoping next week when you visit, I have a cleaner desk to show. Now I'm off to visit as many of the participating bloggers as I can.  Come join us!

Halloween....

Good morning everyone!  I'm here to share with you another card I have made. Halloween is just around the corner, and those who celebrate love to send bright and colorful cards to friends and family.  I send a few; not quite like I used to.

This is a quick and easy card using some of the bits and pieces in my scrap box on my desk.  A couple of pieces of Graphic 45 "An Erie Tale" paper mounted on a black card stock, make a flat style card that will be easy to mail.  I will make a homemade envelope to go along with this and this will be on it's way.

WOYWW #328...

Good morning everyone and welcome to my little corner of the world.  I'm here to share my workdesk with you and like most other Wednesday's in my life now, I take a picture of my space and I  share it with you and then link it to Julia's blog.  Julia has all the details listed on her blog.  Come join in her world wide blog hop filled with lots of desks and all kinds of ideas to inspire you!
I have two photos to share with you this morning:

The first one shows my two new Sue Wilson dies; I'm in love with her dies and purchase them whenever I can afford them.  Also I've been making flowers.  Lots of Poppies to go in a mini-album I'm working on.  These three will go on the front of the album.  There is lots of glue out; are you like me and have all kinds of glue?  I seem to have hoarded it along the way and I'm trying to use it before I lose it.  There is even some glitter glue in purple, green and black there.  I just used the E6000 to glue metal onto my album.

The following photo shows my mini album in progress as well as the Heartfelt Creations papers and underneath it all sits some Graphic 45 Halloween papers that I've been using to make cards.  I'm jumping from one project to another lately.

That's it for me this morning.  I don't want to get too long winded.  I'm off to visit as many of the blogs as I can!

Poinsettia Card......

Hello from a chilly East Tennessee!  We are sitting at 46 degrees this morning and Fall is here for today at least!  After the heat we have endured this summer this is welcomed by me.

I'm here this morning to share a Christmas card I made this weekend.  I've been seeing Christmas everywhere and decided I needed to at least make some effort to begin.

I love how my flowers turned out and the sweet sentiment is one of my favorites. Of course the Sue Wilson die is just icing on the cake.  It's one of the Gemini Dies...Pavo.  I love it!  Everything is set on a  base card of white with a layer of gold under everything else.

What about you?  Have you begun the process of making your own Christmas cards yet?  If I continue, I might just have a shot at finishing before the Holidays!

Craft Hoarders Anonymous Hop......

Welcome to the September Craft Hoarders Anonymous Hop.  My goodness I have missed these girls and am so excited to welcome the new ladies that are just starting with us now!  You will find us to be a friendly bunch of ladies with a passion for crafting.  We offer up a plethora of differences and I'm sure all of you will find something to inspire you as we share.  We will be here each month on the 5th of the month so remember to check in on us to see what is going on in our worlds.

You should be coming here from Jacquie's blog  After visiting me, hop over to Amber's blog next.  To start at the beginning of the hop, and for the full list of Bloggers, go to Gloria's Blog!

I love how this turned out and those flowers just take my breath!  Hope you like them too.  Below is a close up of those flowers and leaves.

Of course it is a birthday card, cause everyone needs birthday cards.  Can you tell how much I love the color blue?  I sure hope none of my shades of blue clash! You'd tell me ... right?

I used some hoarded blue cardstock, some old oval dies and the sentiment stamp is from way back when I was on the Heartfelt Creations design team. The gala glitz in the center of the flowers is also a hoarded item!  So you see I am using things I've hidden away for a while.

So now you have had a little time to get your feet wet with the hop; how do you feel about what you are seeing?  Is anything making  you extra happy?  Keep going along the hop; there is so much more after me! Now go into your craft rooms and use up some of your Hoard!  You will feel so much better, I promise! It is good for your soul!  See you in a month!

Fun Halloween Banner...

Good morning everyone!  I'm here this morning to share another Halloween banner I have made using Graphic 45 papers and lots of cute embellishments.  I love Halloween but just the fun side of the holiday!  I don't like scary at all.

I used paper from the Graphic 45 An Eerie Tale collection from last year.  I'm afraid I hoarded it just a bit!  I made handmade black flowers with orange centers and put lots of glitter on them.  It doesn't show very much, but the spider webs across the top have purple glitter glue on them.  I hand dyed the seam binding and tied the bows to grace the top corners of the banner.  Lots of die cuts, ribbon and purple buttons are used and just look at those cute orange glitter clothes pins. I love this little banner and hope you like it too!

This one is available for sale in my Etsy Shop MagPie's Corner 39.   While you are there, have a look around!  You might find something you just can't live without!

WOYWW #326

Good morning everyone and welcome to another WOYWW!  My desk is a mess, as is every other surface in my space!  I definitely need to take a day or maybe two and clean my mess!

I have almost every inch of my desk top covered with "stuff".  I've been making flowers and the tools in the foreground are for shaping petals.  The blue die cut is the remnant from a Sue Wilson die that I didn't use.  Then I'm looking forward to Halloween and I have a few stickles and a "boo" die to use on a card or two.  The little jar sitting just above the "boo" is Gala Glitz and I use it for flower centers a lot.  The list just goes on and on and suddenly nothing actually goes together and needs to be put away before you start another project.  Actually my mojo has been slipping in and out but I keep trying to be creative.

Now if you would like to participate in this madness, just head over to Julia's blog and you can read all the rules and regulations.  We would love to have you join this huge blog hop and become one of us!  I'd love to be able to slip into your craft room and watch over your shoulder for a bit!

Well that does it for me this morning.  We are supposed to keep it short and sweet so nobody gets bogged down in our post.  I'm off to visit Julia's blog and start hopping around!

Dies R Us 'Back to School' Challenge

Good morning everyone and welcome to the next Dies R Us Challenge Blog challenge.  The theme is 'Back to School' and I have created a plaque to be displayed in a child's room.

I used the Creative Expressions Craft Dies by Sue Wilson.  It's named Classic Adorned Rectangles and I'm in love with this set of dies! There are 6 dies in this set so you have a lot of different choices as to how you use them.  The only other die I used is a circle from the Spellbinders Classic Circles Large.  I cut out the school image with that and then turned it over and drew the outline of the die on black cardstock and then fussy cut that.

Now get busy and create a project for this challenge and link to the Dies R Us Challenge Blog!  I can't wait to see what you create!

Here's a quick review of the rules:
  • ENTRY LIMIT:  3
  • MUST USE DIE CUTS on your creation.
  • DIRECT link to your creation, not your entire blog.
  • LINK BACK to our DRU Challenge Blog in your post.
  • NO BACKLINKING (no creation made prior to our challenge posting)
  • No limit to sharing with other challenges.
