Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge #9 - Fold It!

Good morning everyone and welcome to Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge #9 - Fold It!  Come join us for this challenge!  All you have to do is create a project with some sort of fun fold...you can make a fun fold card, an explosion box, or any other project that makes use of folded card stock or paper, or ribbon.

You can share some folding techniques that are perfect for scrapbook layouts or mixed media pieces. Create a mini album with a folded binding. Fold some ribbon to make pleats. De-hoard those supplies and show us your folds....paper folds that is!  You can find the challenge rules at the top of the page at Craft Hoarders Anonymous Blog.  Our sponsors for the month of June are Stencil Girl Stencils and World Win Papers.

This week I decided to make a tag.  I've been wanting to make one of the huge tags measuring 5" X 10 1/2".  I started out with the tag and it felt a little flimsy so I glued a piece of cardboard from some packaging I saved and then a piece of World Win Paper card stock to the base and got started.  I decided to use Graphic 45 By the Sea paper collection as well.  My Rosette is folded and the edges inked with Distress ink and then I found this old button cover in my hoard from long ago and decided it would work perfectly on top.  My little bird (sea gull) is made using a Stencil Girl Stencil and moulding paste.  While the paste was still wet I sprinkled on some glitter; you know me, I love me some glitter! I pulled out some cheesecloth (also from my hoard) and the lace is new.  Then I started fussy cutting the shells and signs and the sailor girl and I edged them all with distress ink as well.

This was my first time working with Stencil Girl Stencils and WorldWin Papers and I have to tell you the quality of all the items is super!  The card stock and papers are heavy weight and top notch and the stencils are perfect for using the moulding paste.  They are nice and thick and don't give a lot, making them wonderful to work with!  Below is a little tidbit about each company and they will be sponsoring us for the whole month of June!  Also I have added a photo of the prize for this challenge.

Stencil Girl Stencils are designed by artists for artists to use in mixed-media, encaustic, fiber arts, paper crafts and so much more!  The 7 mil mylar stencils are thick enough to be durable and long lasting, yet they are thin enough to provide a seamless look in your art.  Made in the USA.

WorldWinPapers offers extraordinary paper, card stock and envelopes for all paper crafting applications. We have teamed up with leading paper suppliers from around the world to bring some of the most colorful, elegant and sophisticated paper lines available to the craft market. All of our papers provide exceptional quality and design - perfect for scrapbooking, card making, rubber stamping and paper crafting.

The winner will receive a selection of WorldWin papers in 12 x 12 and 8 1/2 x 11, three Stencil Girl stencils, and a DVD.  This is an awesome prize!  Now you get busy and show us  your creative side. Make some folds!  You have until midnight PT, June 15 to link up!  I can't wait to see what you have up your sleeve!

What a wonderful retro feel - and I love that the rosette looks like a parasol that she's twirling between her fingers! Fab tag, and great folding inspiration, thank you.
