Christmas Tree Tag

Good morning everyone!  We are rushing face first into the weekend and let me just say it is going to be a beautiful one weather wise in our neck of the woods.  Highs in the upper 70's and lows in the 60's and the sunshine is just wonderful!

I'm here this morning to share with you a tag I made for Heartfelt Creations using the Season of Joy Collection!  I have had so much fun playing with these wonderful stamps, dies and papers and you know how much I love making tags!

Heartfelt Creations Products Used:
HCPC 3557 Christmas Poinsettia PreCut Set
HCD 739 Banner and Trees Die
HCDP1 Frosty Blanket Paper Collection
HCPC 3561 Christmas Sentiment Circles PreCut Set
HCD 713 Lace Border Die
#159723 Art Glitter Dries Clear Adhesive

Other Supplies:  white card stock, glitter, glue, clear acrylic spray, Memento Ink, Versamark Ink, white embossing powder, Ranger distress inks, tag, white ribbon

Instructions:
Cover a tag with a piece of the pretty paper that has been Mod Podged  and use the glue and glitter to go over part of the image in the paper.  Cut the lace border using a coordinating piece of the paper and glue it to the bottom of the tag.  Cut the tree and snowflake out of white cardstock and cover with glue; set aside to dry.  Stamp the sentiment circle onto a piece of white cardstock and I fussy cut it and glued it to the top of the tag.  Once the tree and snowflake are dry apply them to the tag.  Next I stamped and embossed the poinsettia and used distress inks on the back of the petals.  I glued these down on the tree and then I tied a piece of ribbon through the hole of the tag and it is finished.

OK that is it for me this morning!  I hope you have a wonderful day and that you take a moment and just "Breathe".

Welcome to Heartfelt Creations Wednesday.....

Good Wednesday morning everyone and welcome to Heartfelt Creations Wednesday.  I'm here this morning to share another card I have made using the wonderful stamps, dies and papers from the Season of Joy Collection.

I have really enjoyed playing with this collection and just know you would enjoy the whole set of dies, stamps and the beautiful paper.

If you would like a list of product used and the instructions for making this card, just head over to the HC blog and have a good look around.

While you are there, you can see the list of semi-finalists for the new design team and a place to vote for your favorites.  I look forward to visiting their blogs and seeing their talents.  You also have a place to vote for 5 of your favorite existing designers.  We all depend on your vote to make sure that we make this new team.  So please vote in both places and I thank you now for taking the time to do this.  We all appreciate you and if not for you we would not be here now!

OK, that's it for me this morning.  I'm off to visit the list of semi-finalists and see what they have going on.  I'm sure I'm in for some beautiful creations!  I really love this part when we get to see the new applicants and watch as you vote for your favorites.  Also it is nail biting time as I sweat bullets, hoping I get enough votes to continue forward.  It all depends on you!

Christmas Tag.....

Good Monday morning everyone!  I discovered I still had some embossing paste from Dreamweavers and I also went a purchased a jar of Liquitex Moulding Paste because it dries white; my other is translucent.  I found some old brass stencils in my stash and went to work playing with both of these mediums!

This morning I have made a square gift tag for the Christmas season.  I used the medium on watercolor paper to make sure it was thick enough to hold the paste.  I also used a glue pad to gently swipe across the package when it had dried and sprinkled glitter across to give it a pretty glow.  My sentiment stamp is from Heartfelt Creations HCPC 3429 Wisement Ornament PreCut Set.

I just noticed the paper had some places in the fiber where it is not totally white.  I will be more careful about picking out my scrap pieces for my next project.  I save all different sizes of this paper and try and use each and every bit.  In real life you don't even notice this difference, but the camera misses nothing it seems.

Well you get the idea here, and I will be doing more pieces using this medium...I think I like it very much!

I'm off to get my second cup of coffee.  Hope your day is a good one even though it is Monday.  It is 51 degrees here this morning.  It definitely feels like Fall!

HCPC 3557 Christmas Poinsettia PreCut Set
HCD 734 Sun Kissed Fleur Die
HCPC 3554 Love at Christmas PreCut Set

#119391036 Rose Metallic 3D Stamp Paint

Other Supplies:  Burgundy and black paper, green card stock, watercolor paper, Memento Ink, seam binding, Scor-Tape, glue, gold seed pearls, glue

Instructions:  Card size 5” X 7”
Make card base using watercolor paper for stability.  Cover with black paper and then a piece of the pretty paper from the paper pack that I taped twp pieces of seam binding to.  Next I matted a rectangle of the design paper onto black paper and attached to card front.  Next I made the banner piece, stamped with the sentiment and taped it to the rectangle.  Tie a knot in the seam binding and then I tied a bow and adhered it with tape to the ribbon.  Next I stamped and cut out the flowers and leaves and I used the Rose metallic paint on the petals, shaped them and glued together.  Then I added the gold seed pearls to the centers.  I shaped the holly leaves some and cut out pieces of burgundy paper to fit over the holy berries.   Decide where you want everything to be placed on the card front and glue down.

I hope you make one of these for your own Christmas Card Stash!  It is so rewarding and really not difficult at all!

Well this is it for me this morning.  I hope you take a little time out of your busy day and "Breathe".

Heartfelt Creations Wednesday....

Good morning everyone and welcome to Heartfelt Creations Wednesday.  We have once again come to the middle of the week and I feel like the camel in the insurance commercial that keeps asking everyone "Do you know what day it is?"  Well folks it's hump day of the most special kind.....Heartfelt Creations!

So here is my creation to share with you this morning.

I almost feel like I could take a big lick of these candy canes!  This stamp just says Christmas to me!  I remember as a child getting candy canes in my stocking and what a treat they were.

Heartfelt Creations Products Used:
HCPC 3558 Striped Candy Cane PreCut Set
HCPC 3557 Christmas Poinsettia PreCut Set
HCPC 3561 Christmas Sentiment Circles PreCut Set
HCDP1 225 Frosty Blanket Paper Collection
HCD 734 Sun Kissed Fleur Die

Other Supplies:  Spellbinders (Radiant Rectangles, Labels 8, Standard Circles Large and Small, Mix & Match Ornaments) Memento ink, colored pencils, mineral spirits, white card stock, green card stock, glue, glitter, dimensional tape, half pearls, seam binding, Pro Marker

Instructions:
Using white card stock, cut out the Radiant Rectangle, Ornament, and a Labels 8.  Stamp the image on the Labels 8 and use colored pencils to color the image.  Then on the white areas of the candy canes I used glitter.  Next I stamped and colored the flower petals with the Pro Marker, then I applied glitter all over the petals.  Once dry I used dimensional tape to pop the petals and put a half pearl in the center of the flower.  I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of the paper collection then I matted it in green and applied to the ornament.  Punch a hole in the top of the Labels 8 and apply it to the rectangle with dimensional tape.  Tie the seam binding in the hole of the tag and the tag is ready to go.

Learning About Mixed Media......

I have only ever done a few projects using Mixed Media Techniques and I'm still trying to figure out when I'm supposed to stop.  There is a point where you need to say enough and then leave it alone.  I haven't figured that part out yet.

Here is a picture of my piece about mid way through...I'm just getting ready to paint everything white with Gesso and then start adding color. I almost like it better than the finished piece.

Here it is after I have colored it to death!

I think I went about two steps too far! Oh and by the way...the nobby kneed little girl is me about 120 years ago.  I think I was 3 years old in this picture.  I love this type of project and will keep watching videos trying to figure out where it is that I fit. I just know there is a place for me somewhere in this!

Happy Labor Day!

Now let me get this straight...It's Labor Day...and it's a holiday right?  So are we supposed to be busy or are we supposed to rest?

Maggie and Bella woke in a flurry!  They were rushing around trying to decide what was supposed to be happening today.  I was no help at all since I'm retired and every day is pretty much the same...I wake up and do whatever I want!  Finally Bella buried herself in Maggie's bed and Maggie was so worn out she didn't even notice.  She just climbed in and went to sleep.

So from our house to yours....Happy Labor Day!  Make sure you get a nap!
