Here is my latest pictures of Niki "The Queen of Shebia". She is our 10 year old black screw tail pug....well actual she belongs to my husband; she is truly a daddy's girl. Next is our picket fence. Whew that is a lot of painting expecially when you are doing it by hand!!!! Wish me luck as I finish! Right now I'm having to let it dry out a day or so because of all the rain we have had so I will not have to paint more until maybe next week.

Where did this month go?
Good morning my friends! Hope you are up and getting ready to start your day...It looks like the sun might shine today and I am planning on getting outside once it warms up a little. The temp is 37 degrees here this morning and we are under a frost warning. Typical East Tennessee weather! If you don't like our weather, just stick around 15 minutes and it will change! I'm beginning to feel cooped up and am needing to venture outside! I love being able to do what I want for a change. Working all those years was a beast and I'm really enjoying my freedom. Life is good!
I don't have any new pictures for you this morning. I'm kinda waiting around for new stamps from Just For Fun Rubber Stamps http://www.jffstamps.com/ I can't wait to get started on their Design Team! I feel like it will be a wonderful journey!
Well I'm going after my next cup of coffee. Have a wonderful day and remember to live it like it is your last!

Medallion Card
Good Tuesday morning! I hope you are up and ready to go.....I am....Another night of not sleeping much~! I swear the older I get, the more I roam at night!! Ok enough of that....Here is my card for today. I made the medallion with a 12" piece of pattern paper that is punched with a Martha Stewart Punch, then the paper is cut to about 3/4" width. I scored in between each peak and then folded at each score. I then taped each end together and laid flat and glued to a 1" circle. I then used distress ink to distress the edges. Another 1" circle glued to the top with a small flower to top it off. To me it is labor intensive, but I love the look.
My card base is cream colored cardstock run through the cuttlebug with a folder. The medallion is mounted on a navy blue base with a piece of handmade Mulberry paper distressed with Ranger Distress ink...Aged Mahogany. I used a Spellbinders die for the lace on the bottom and a small piece of white ribbon colored with Copic B39. I really like to color my ribbon to match my card. I think the Copics do a great job and you can almost match anything depending on the number of markers you have.
I hope you enjoy the card. Have a wonderful day and don't forget to "breathe"!!

Good Sunday Morning.....
I haven't been here much this week. Husband has been sick and I have been crazy busy! Lots of things going on and not much creativity! I am hoping to re-charge today and get back in the saddle Monday. We had lots of storms roll through during the night and none of us got much sleep. MagPie hates the thunder and The Queen of Shebia....Niki just hates storms period. Abby seems to sleep through anything......Hmmm wish I could say the same. Anyway I have nothing new to post this morning but I just wanted to say hello and let you know I'm still here.
Have a great Sunday!

"FRIEND" CARD
Here is the card I promised... I hope you like it.
Since I don't own a lot of pattern paper, I made my own using the technique I learned from Linda Duke (Linda's Works of Heart...blog listed in my favorites). I first stamped my cardstock with a background stamp and then did the technique over it. I used the Glimmer Mist technique on cardstock with tissue paper over it. I used both cardstock and the tissue paper. I used a spellbinder oval die then stamped my saying & sponged Distress Ink over that. The little flowers are handmade from a Martha Stewart flower punch and Parchment paper. I then embossed the flowers and put together with silicone and added a little pearl. The leaves of the flowers are colored on the back with Copic G24 for a little hint of color.
Supplies
White Cardstock
Tissue Paper
Glimmer Mist
Oval Die from Spellbinders
Ranger Distress Inks
Parchment paper, embossing tools
Martha Stewart Flower Punch
Pearls and Ribbon from my stash

My Very First ATC!!!
Good morning to you all! It is Thursday morning and kinda early and I am on my very first cup of coffee!! I only have one eye open as I write this, so bear with me!! I just wanted to share my very first ATC (Artist Trading Card) ever. Now, I don't know all the rules, so if I broke any, please let me know. It is my understanding they are small versions of art to be given away or traded only, never sold. You decorate the front side and on the back side you put your contact information; kind of like a business card but with art! They are to have exact dimensions 2 1/2 X 3 1/2....nothing more, nothing less. Other than that I know absolutely nothing about them, other than they capture my interest. Soooo below is my first attempt at one! I hope you like it!
I used chipboard as a base and started from there. It is my understanding you can use anything you want as a base and decorate anyway you choose just as long as the measurements never change.
Supplies:
Chipboard
Card stock .... cream
Ranger Distress Ink
Cuttlebug folder
Ribbon and lace from my stash
Sentiment from Flourishes
Little flowers I made myself using a Martha Stewart Hydrangea punch
Pearls from my stash
I will be spending the day running errands, not my favorite thing, but a necessary evil. Have a wonderful day and enjoy the weather if you can!

Wednesday.....
I don't have anything new to show you today. I spent yesterday working outdoors, painting on the fence. Whew, I'm glad our yard is small, otherwise, it would probably take me several years to finish. It is coming right along. I'm about half way finished and it is looking really nice. I will have to take pictures when I am finished. It is really tedious work and I can only do a couple to three hours until my hands start to cramp up on me. This getting old is not what it is cracked up to be.
The weather is beautiful here, temps in the high 70's to low 80's and lots of pollen everywhere. I'm struggling with allergies just like everyone else!!! Looks like I might have to cut back on my time outside until the pollen season is over.
Well, I'm off for another cup of coffee....you guys have a wonderful day and enjoy the beautiful weather!

Good Friday Morning.....
Well it is once again Friday and I'm loving these Spring days. Everything is in bloom here and now the weather is really iffy for tonight. We could have frost....we live in a low lying area and if it frosts....we get it! I'm hoping it does not come because our apple trees are in full bloom and that will mean no apples for me this year. It has been a couple of years since we have had apples on our trees and I was really looking forward to this year. Mother Nature has a mind of her own!

Red, Yellow and Black...Just For Fun Stamps Challenge #5
Here is my entry for the Just For Fun Stamps Challenge #5. I hope you like it. I used Gina K. Designs card stock for the card and the base layer. The top layer of the card is paper from Scrapperdashery the Shakespeare, Romeo and Juilet design. I ran this through my cuttlebug with a folder for dimension and then shaded with Ranger Vintage Photo Ink. The flower is a Sunflower Die from Spellbinders cut out of Watercolor Paper. I find that watercolor paper really takes the Inks well.
I sponged the flower with Ranger Ink....Wild Honey, Vintage Photo and Aged Mahogany and the center of the Sunflower is Crystal Lacquer to make it shiney. The saying is from Flourishes stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
Well ladies, its back to the picket fence for me again today. I only paint about 2 hours a day and it's going to take a long time! The temps here are supposed to be 86degrees today. Warm to say the least!

Tulips...
This is the Easter card I did for my husband. He will not see this as he never uses a computer for anything. The card base is made from card stock from Gina K Designs in Ocean Mist, using the Classic Lace Border from Spellbinders. The tulips are Parchment Craft using parchment paper and various Pergamano tools. I have always loved this craft and I need to go back to basic training and discover it all over again. The projects you make with this technique are always beautiful and I find that I love the whitework the best. That is, no color is added except the card stock you put underneath. My skills are very, very rusty so please be kind. I hope my husband likes this as I totally enjoyed doing it for him.

Today is April.....
It is now late afternoon and I have been running in and out all day. I work a little here and then over here and oh wait....I really need to get this done. I'm just jumping from one thing to another. I've been working on the landscaped area in our front yard...very messy! Ivy growing everywhere and leaves left last Fall and the Fall before and maybe even before that. Well now at least I have some time on my hands and all these things that just went undone are now getting done.
I just noticed this afternoon that I'm coming up on my 400th visit to my blog....now I have to tell you, this little old woman in East Tennessee is so pleased about that. When I started this blog, I only expected one or two of my family members to visit and see what I have been doing. I actually have two followers and I couldn't be happier about that. I know this sounds so trivial to some of you but for me it is so amazing.....the power of the Internet just astounds me! So to all of you out there, wherever you are, thank you, thank you... and I'm so glad you are there!
