Heartfelt Creations January Alumni Design Team Blog Hop
Here we are again with a Heartfelt Creations Alumni Design Team blog hop just for you. Each month we gather together and bring to you this wonderful hop to share our creations and hopefully inspire you to use your Heartfelt Creations products to create beautiful pieces!
I have used some of the wonderful stamps and dies from the January, 2015 release (Birds and Blooms) I just love these cute little fluffy birds sitting on a tree branch ready to welcome Spring! After I cut them out and colored them I used my McGill Paper Shaping Tools to give these little guys a more dimensional look.
My card is 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" and can easily be mailed in a regular envelope without extra postage. I used dimensional tape to pop up the birds and give some added dimension. I can just tell I will be using these cute little guys often.
Your next stop after this will be Lee Ann Barrett and remember to leave a comment on as many blogs as you can and good luck to you all!

Missing You And Banner Tails.......
I have been quite taken by banners and have purchased a few dies since I love and am addicted to dies. I also am a huge fan of embossing folders but I have more dies than folders. This is one of my favorites, called Textile Textures by Cuttlebug. I use it often and think it gives an elegant background. Did you notice the pretty little metal butterfly? My good friend Kathy Clement (Big Wave) sent me an envelope filled with sequins and little shapes and pretties. This just sort of fell out of the bunch when I was transferring them over into a little bin and I felt like I should use it quickly. I added the pretty little beads down the center and I think it made an excellent addition to my card. Thanks Kathy!
Be sure and check back tomorrow as the Heartfelt Creations Alumni Design Team brings you a blog hop filled with so much inspiration. See you then!

WOYWW #294
Good morning everyone and welcome to WOYWW. If you are wondering about this little get together you can go over and visit Julia's blog (she is the owner and creator of this world wide blog hop). She has all the rules and regulations posted there. Come and join in and become addicted like the rest of us!
I have been so very busy cleaning and decided to show you some of the finished product! No crafting going on here...everything was put on hold while I scared off the dust bunnies! No wonder I was struggling to breathe!
Just look at all the clean space here this morning. Of course we all know this is not going to last but I'm very proud of myself anyway!
This desk was sitting out in middle of the floor up on risers for standing when my back gives problems. I was beginning to feel so shut in and had to do something. It came down off the risers so it would fit against the wall and holds my Ebosser and Big Shot. I seldom use markers so these are on this desk as well.
And this little number used to sit in a corner with a light tent on it that I seldom used. The tent is folded and stored and I turned these shelves on their side and put on top to hold my Spellbinders Dies. The twp bottom shelves of these cabinets were always in shadow and now I can see all the labels on the cases so I can find what I'm looking for. I haven't decided yet but I may trade places with these and the desk that holds the Ebosser. So many decisions but I want it to all work well. Today is another day.
Well that's all for me this morning. I hope I haven't carried on to long and cluttered the blog hop too much! Julia likes us to keep this short and sweet! Now I'm off to visit...I've shown you mine, now show me yours!

Criss Cross Card with Blue Flower
Good morning everyone! It's hard to believe we are starting a brand new week again. It seems like only yesterday we were starting last week! My goodness I can hardly keep up! It is really true when they say as you get older the time goes so quickly!
It's been awhile since I made one of these and just needed to revisit the fold again. I made a flower using the Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die from long ago. I still love these petals and love the shade of blue I achieved. The inside is plain and simple and you tie it all up with a bow.

Well that does it for me this morning. I'm off to do a little blog hopping and see what is going on in the crafting world! No matter where you go or what you wind up doing today, take a moment to "Breathe"!

Working on Christmas Cards For 2015
Good morning everyone. I don't really do New Year's Resolutions but I did sort of promise myself I would work on Christmas cards all through the year. So today is my first card.
I made a 41/4 X 5 1/2 sized card and used a embossing folder by Anna Griffin. The picture of the bird is one I found online and printed on my printer. I used a technique with Ultra Thick Embossing Powder where you have several layers of the UTEE and then you place the piece in the freezer for 45 minutes and when you take it out you just bend it and it cracks. You can then use some Ranger Distress Ink to go over the piece and it gets down into the cracks giving it a more aged look. Then just take a piece of paper towel and gently rub off the Distress Ink and what went down inside the cracks stays there.
When you are doing the embossing powder just do the first layer like you normally do and then while it is still hot, sprinkle more powder; heat it up and keep adding more layers. I did 6 layers on my piece. This is a technique I love and need to visit it more often.
The close up shows part of the cracking...sorry about the photography. The gold pieces on the corners is from my new Spellbinders dies (Regal Frame) I love the pretty pieces but it's delicate and hard to get the cardstock to release. I'm trying different techniques trying to find one that will work for me.
