It's Wednesday and time to play along with Julia and WOYWW (What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday #276. Each week Julia hosts a large get together and we all link into a blog hop on her blog. It is great fun and I get to visit so many desks all over the world. I love to have a look into other people's areas and see what they have going on in their craft lives! Ideas are exchanged, friends are made and it is just a lot of fun!
I was on the Heartfelt Creations design team for a couple of years and I have never gotten over their stamps and dies! Each release I try to buy the stamp and die for the flower they are featuring. I just received the Classic Sunflower stamp and die and I've been playing with those! I also cut out some lattice and did a circle frame around it and I will arrange the pretty flowers around that. Next I just need to select card stock and maybe some pretty paper to match. I always work backwards to a lot of crafters. Most would select the papers and card stock first and go from there. Oh No! I could never do it the easy way. I get so excited about coloring an image or making flowers that I don't even think about the papers until it is time and then I'm tearing my craft room apart trying to find just the right piece of paper. Maybe I should put up a big note in front of me that says "Paper First".
OK, I've shown you mine...show me yours! Come play with us! Just take a picture of your space and blog about it then link up at Julia's blog. We would all love to have a look around your space and you might make a friend or two! See you there! Now I'm off to visit as many deskers as I can. Have a great Wednesday!

Hi there Magpie love the idea of making a lattice oval like that... must put it in the memory box... and yes love their dies too.. how do I work?.. not unlike you but now mostly try and match image with paper as I go so don't have issues matching as it drove me crazy doing it the other way. .. thanks for popping over...

Yep! that's how I work too... First I pice my stamp and start coloring then go looking for the paper..... Who know it's was backward, Right??? Oh Well it sure had been proven to be a good way for you!! Can't wait to see your Sunflowers on your card!!
Lots of fun there today! Loving the stamps! I am glad to see another person who doesn't start with the paper! I pick my stamps and items and then browse my ample paper stash! Have a fab day! Winnie #36
That's a busy desk, Glenda, love everything I can see! Those sunflowers are going to be beautiful! Have a fun Wednesday.
I always love to come and see your desk with a work in progress. I know this is going to be something amazing!
Hi Glenda, I'm not familiar with the Heartfelt Creations company, but I'll be sure to add them to my list to check out because those dies are fabulous. Happy WOYWW to you! Crystal
Loving the new goodies! Thanks for stopping by already. Helen 11
That is going to be beautiful when you're finished. Don't you just love the sunflowers? I know I do. #17

I work backwards to - glad I'm not alone. Look forward to seeing your finished card. Thank you for visiting my blog Anita #50 woyww
Hi Glenda, happy WOYWW and thanks for visiting my desk...oh you are not alone working backwards and oh how frustrating that can been when the colour shades aren't right - I've even taken to the paper with ink to match it...I am learning though. Your sunflowers are just beautiful and love the stamps and dies. Cheers and enjoy your week RobynO#27
Stunning die cuts! I don't have any, but must. resist. lol. So much enabling at WOYWW! #49
Can't wait to see the final result. What a lovely desk to play at. Have a great week, Chris # 29

I can't wait to see the finished product with those gorgeous flowers!! Now I have to add those stamps and dies to my ever growing "must have" list...thanks (I think)!!
Hi Glenda, those sunflowers are gorgeous and your framed lattice circle is beautiful too. I'm sure that the finished card will be stunning, after you find the right paper, of course :) Have a great week. Elizabeth x #62
You just made me LOL! I really thought that I was the only 'backward' crafter on the planet! I always colour first and think later, baaaad habit, but exciting anyway.
Happy WOYWW !

I work the way you do: inspiration comes first (the stamp or the flower or whatever) then later on I think about what paper to use...
I hadn't heard of Heartfelt but I've made a mental note to check them out as what on your desk looks beautiful! Can't wait to see the finished product (next week perhaps?)
Thanks for letting me look over your shoulder.

Me too!!! image, colours...then paper, mounts, card colours and finally..size!! So, judging from the comments here, I'm thinking it's not so backwards a method as you thought!! I love the flowers you're working on, goodness, with skill like that, it's no wonder you NEED each release!
Hi Glenda! Now that looks like a happy desk! I, too, also save paper for last. The stamps and dies draw me in first and mayhem occurs in the craft room after!
Thanks for sharing! Have a good week. Hugs, Kathy Jo #41
Oh Glenda, I do like those flowers and the lattice die, and I'm afraid I'm with you all the way, play with something, produce something beautiful and then rummage around to find co-ordinating papers to create a finished article.
I have so many half finished things because I can't find the right papers to go with the beautiful object.
Thanks for popping by my desk, and yes I know what you mean about having to have something new.

Hi Glenda, love that lattice work, is that a die? Also the lacy looking piece is beautiful. As are the sunflowers, in fact I love it all. Lol. Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz #25 xxx
Thanks for stopping by and your kind comments. Love the lattice circle, just wondering if you are left handed? I seem to start out with something and end up ? papers ! takes me longer to find the right one than to make the project. But I can't wait to see this, as your FLOWERS are the best. Enjoy this week.
Interesting how we all work so differently. I used to finish my art assignment and then do the prelims! So I guess I am a bit like you. It also depends on my mood and what whim has taken my fancy as to whether I start with the base paper or the embellies! #41
The sunflowers stamp looks superb. Thanks for sharing. Hope you are having a great day and have a lovely crafting week to come. Hazel, WOYWW #69 x
Hi Glenda, Happy WOYWW!
I only have a few sets of Heartfelt dies and stamps, I think they are Heartfelt anyway.
Your sunflowers are amazing! I also work backwards like you (but my desk is messier).
Cazzy x #70
Hi Glenda, I love heartfelt stamps and the dies that go with them. If you can't find a paper to match then make your own Masterboard (background paper), that's the way I do it.
Have a great week and happy crafting, Angela x 36
I can't wait to see the final outcome of your project -- I love the quatrefoil die and it looks so pretty cut into an oval shape. Hope you're having a happy WOYWW! ~ Laura #80
Hi Glenda,
The sunflower stamp looks great. I love the lattice die too. Hmmm, I think I may work backwards too! Maybe it's us that work cards the right way and everyone else is backwards?!? All of your card creations are wonderful so I'd stick to what obviously works quite well for you!
Thank you for visiting me already. I can't believe it's Sunday already. Time is too restricted when you work full time. Ahh can't wait until retirement.
Hugs,
