Sunflowers....Some of my Favorites!

Good morning everyone and welcome to a Hot, Hot, Hot East Tennessee.  Knoxville reached a record high of 101 degrees yesterday and the little community where I live reached 96 degrees.  Now that is just too dang hot for this fat old woman!

If you visited my blog on Wednesday you might have noticed this flower sitting on my desk after I completed the bleaching technique.  This is the finished product.  I will be interested to see if I can add color back to the bleached areas but for this one I just left it as it.  It would be nice to have green leaves.  I have to apologize for the photo.  The yellow in the ribbon really didn't show very well, but the flower photographed well.  It seems it is always something with my pictures.  It just shows you all inept I am with the camera!

Well I hope you like my finished product.  I'm definitely going to play with adding color back after I have bleached.  Just to see what actually happens.    That about does it for me this morning.  I'm off to do a little coloring....just staying inside out of the heat.  The forcast is for climbing temps over the next few days and no rain in sight.  Take care of yourselves and don't over do while you are outdoors!

What a gorgeous card Glenda. I love sunflowers too. I don't know if I'd survive in heat like that. Hugs Rita xxx

Glenda, this is beautiful...I've never tried that technique but I love the results! We are supposed to be hit with the heat today - 103...I will be staying indoors, as well. Being asthmatic, I cannot be outside in high heat and especially when the air quality is bad...it really affects my breathing. Hope you have a great 4th of July...we are heading to Folly Beach in S.C. with our daughter and her family for a few days...excited to spend some time with them.

First... your neither fat nor old! We're just well seasoned! LOL And I did see the sunflower the other day... it turned out magnificent!! Thanks so much for sharing the technique. I have it on my list to try soon!

Stay cool this weekend... so very hot every where... it's already 101 here north of Winston-Salem, NC almost at the VA line at 2:30pm. I'm sure it will get up a couple more degrees. We usually don't see this kind of heat til late August. I'm staying inside too... stamping and coloring!

Tried to pin this little beauty, but Pinterest gave me a message saying there were no pictures on this page. So I clicked on your 'follow me' button, but I didnt see this one pinned yet. :o)

Gorgeous card, Glenda! Great job on the technique! Stay cool! It's been 103 or better here for the last couple of days and they are calling for the same for the next couple. We haven't had any rain in over two weeks! Good chance to stay inside and color! Have a good weekend!

Love this technique. Your sunflower is gorgeous. And yes, you can add color. I prefer use colored pencils. Distress ink and nibs would probably work too. Once the bleach is dried it doesn't bleach anymore. Stay cool. Have a great weekend!

I think I've only tried bleaching once...did not look as I thought it should, LOL!
This, on the other hand, turned out great! I just might have to give this another go sometime!

That's very interesting and very pretty! At first glance I never would have guessed it was bleached. It's been ages since I've done that. You can, indeed, color the bleached areas and it gives it a whole different look. This is awesome, though!

Love what you have done with the bleach...I must give this method a try...did it once years ago....like most things, I meant to do it again!
