Good morning bloggers. I'm sitting here with coffee cup filled to the brim trying to think about starting my day. Since I'm getting older I'm having a hard time keeping up with my mail. So here is what I did to help my problem.

Since I am the self proclaimed " Queen of Laundry" in our household, I am constantly having these boxes sitting around because I think I will alter them for something. You know you always need something to throw away on Wednesday. So this time, since I'm waking up in a brand new world each and every day, I decided to make a box to hold my mail. (I can't seem to keep up with our water bill).
I cut the box to the height I wanted then used a saucer to mark the space I wanted to cut out on the front of the box. Next I set about cutting paper to glue to the box, and let's just say this is not my strong point, so I used a little Ranger Distress Ink on the edges. I used Mod Podge to glue the paper and then a coat over the top of the paper. I used hot glue to glue the trim. Oh yes, I also painted the inside of the box with acrylic paint.
The next time I do one of these I might add some flowers or other points of interest, but let's face it....this one is going to hold mail.
Well that is about it for me this morning. I hope you have some time to do something creative today. Have a wonderful day and take some trash and make a treasure!

Oh Yes.... I can see this being VERY useful.... I'll have to try one of these too... Great Idea!!
Love the black and white look too!
What a great idea. This would be very attractive on the counter. You are very creative.
Oh, I can think of so many uses for this type of box....you are one smart cookie....does is smell fresh? LOL! This would also make a great Christmas card box, a nice gift for those who work in an office....now you've gone and done it....I am on a roll!
This is a wonderful idea and it is so much prettier than a store bought one.
Wow! This came out beautifully!! I'm going to start looking at my laundry detergent box with admiring eyes!!!!
How fun, Glenda! Who would have thought you could have clean mail! I know not a good joke, but I tried. I am up too early this morning watering. Love this idea, yours is so lovely! Have a great day.
What an incredible awesome use of your trash! You are such an inspiration! This is awesome!
Great Idea, great to recyle. I've saved the white plastic oval ice cream boxes with the colored lids and need to get some recovered for the holidays. They worked great to mail goodies to my son when he was overseas.
Love the rich papers and colors you used on this project. Will look nice sitting out.
You'll now be "Queen of the Mail" as well as "Queen of the Laundry". You certainly have a regal box to keep it in! Love how you added the trim. Way to recycle!
Well, aren't you the clever one!! This turned out great!! (I should really start alterning my blech stuff....would that require me to clean my work area?!!)
So inventive!!! It turned out fantastic... I'm gonna have to go downstairs and scope out some boxes!!!
So bring out the Laundry and recycle. This is so cleaver and what a great way to collet the mail or etc.
Congratulations on your win at Flourishes. WooHoo!
