Let's Switch Gears A Little......
As you know I have 4 Grandsons and they are each very dear to me. We have my daughter's son, her husband's two sons and my husband's daughter's son. Sort of "Mine and Yours, Them and Their's"!! So every now and then I need to make cards just for them. They love getting mail especially if I tuck in a little Wal Mart money! I doesn't take much ....just a little to tuck in their pockets so they can say they are not broke. When my daughter's son, Spencer, was very small he would spend a lot of time visiting me. One day I gave him a dollar and he said what is it for. I said , it's Mad Money! With this most serious face, he looked up at me with dollar in hand and said....."I not mad"! So I said ...Wal Mart Money? His little eyes gleamed. Now he is almost 13 and it is still Wal Mart Money! Funny how little things can mean so much!
I'm sorry, I got lost there for a minute! We were talking about making cards for them! Yeah....I do love doing that, but boy cards are a little difficult for me. They are getting to be young men and the little cutsie cards just don't cut it anymore! So even if they have a cute image, I have to do something sort of grown up on them. Anyway....here is a card I made for a boy's birthday. It's an easel card and I colored the image with Ranger Distress Inks. I cut out the image and used a Spellbinders Oval die to mount him on. The sentiment is done on Spellbinders Labels 10. No lace, ribbon or bows for this little guy....just some stripped grown up paper and a few buttons for a pop of color. Of course there will be birthday money tucked inside so all will be well!

and isn't 13 a hard age!!! I have 2 Grand sons' that are 13, twins at that. I love the card and I'm sure they will too, like you I always give Wal Mart money, LOL, great minds work alike!
Will you did a Great Job! He will LOVE it and with a little $$$ inside it will be perfect!! Yes Mad Money is the perfect gift for little men and big man for that matter... Will you know I even like it too......
Super cute story! I'm sure he will love his card and Wal Mart money!
It doesn't matter if you are creating a beautiful card with flowers or a cute card for a grandson, your work is always gorgeous. That is such a cute image. I always admire the way you color with Ranger inks. I love your little story and so happy you share them with us.
My boys always want GameStop (video game) or Target cards...for more video games!! And making cards for tween/teen boys IS hard...I usually end up making a card that is music (guitar), sport or video game related.
Your coloring is wonderful.....as usual!! Just make sure "mom" puts the cards in a special spot so that when kiddos are older, they can appreciate your art work!!
Glenda, Your card is wonderful! Your coloring is perfect...just love it. Boy cards are harder to make. What are we to do? LOL! Have a wonderful day. I'm sending you an e-mail...hugs the other patty sue 2
What a great card, Glenda! Haven't reached that age yet as my grandson was just 6 on the 20th. He still likes whatever Nana sends!Boys are so dear that way, not fussy like little girls! You did a wonderful boy card! Have a great evening!
I can always use ideas for boy cards--they're so much harder than girls! I love the Wal Mart Money story. Kids are so funny!
Have a great day--what's left of it! My oldest is home sick from school and my youngest's tutor went home at lunchtime with a migraine, so I'm actually parenting this afternoon!
What a precious story... awww. That is so sweet of you to do this. I wish my kids had great grandparents that did things like this. You will be treasured for many years to come. Great card.
This is sweet, Glenda, and I love your story about how the Wal-Mart money came about. I don't have grandchildren, but I have lots of children in my life, so I frequently make cards for them. I'm concerned about when the boys get older... Girls are always easy, I think. Gee, I got sidetracked, too, didn't I? Anyway, your grandson will love this because it's from you!
Cute card..great coloring..these little images are hard to find...Love your Kids story..I do somewhat the same. I have 3 grandkids 7, 5, 2 yrs, 3 hrs away so I have to send 3 of whatever. And now at the age, they will call Cami "You haven't sent any cards Gramma.." But usually show me their stash when we visit, so I guess they aren't spending too much of it..
