Altered Tin

Actually this is not really a tin...it is a bread crumb box that I salvaged and put away for just such an occasion.  I'm finding that I truly love altering things to make them useful again and this little baby could hold some cookies or a small gift for a dear friend.  I used free digi paper to cover the outside and edged the paper in Victorian Velvet Distress Ink and then glued it to the tin.  Then I just started adding things out of my stash to pretty it up.  It is labor intensive and I won't go into too many details but I used Spellbinders Dies, Wild Orchid Crafts flowers, glass pearls, lace, Martha Stewart butterfly and lots and lots of glue!

I hope this makes you want to do one of these.  They are not difficult at all, just time consuming; but the results can be anything you want them to be.  I find lately, I keep gravitating back to pinks and greens...I'm not sure why but I think pinks are becoming my favorite color!

Very beautiful Glenda, I am itching to do some more playing with flowers, I have a wedding card to do for a niece that is getting married and wanted a fall wedding, but is getting married Memorial weekend because her sister is leaving for a year of study in Europe and they didn't want to wait till next year. I'm thinking about some shadow box, card combo, but haven't got it all worked up in my head yet. I'd better get busy. Your project is an inspiration to get me motivated. Thanks.
