WOYWW #347

Well here we are again, right in the middle of the week and I'm here sharing another what's on your workdesk photo!  This little Wednesday get together has become a huge part of my life and I'm always happy to share what I have been doing.  If you would like the rules about this blog hop just head over to Julia's blog; she is the creator of this little bit of madness (I say that with nothing but a loving heart Julia!)

My desk is relatively clear this past week because I spent several days watching the snow storm that blew through this area.  The first round brought 6-7 inches of snow and the second wave brought another 2-3 inches and I enjoyed each and every little bit of it!  I love the snow and just watching it fall can hold my attention for hours.  Of course being retired I don't have anywhere to go so I can totally relax and enjoy.

Lately, I have become in love with making these mini-albums using some of the Heartfelt Creations products. I'm trying to photograph this one and so here is one of the pages.  I do still make a card or two along the way but I dearly love working with these.  They help me spend hours pouring love and attention into little works of art and it is just a great crafty project!

In my albums I make all the flowers, leaves and butterflies and love coloring them to match the papers I'm using!  I love dies and use them throughout my pages as well.  So there you have it.  I'm going to try and visit a few of you now, so we will talk later!

January Heartfelt Creations Alumni Design Team Blog Hop

My card this month is designed using the design Emma Lou showed when she did the video for making cards using the Blazing Poppy Release.  There was something about this design that just said "Gorgeous" to me and so I decided to do my own take on this card.  I hope I do this design proud!

Valentines Everywhere...

For me it is that time of year when there are little hearts all over my desk.  It seems no matter how I try to keep them all gathered together they always seem to scatter to the four corners and try to get into my other projects.  My card this morning is using Heartfelt Creations Timeless Amour Die and the center cut of the die is a solid heart.  It will go into the pile of other hearts I have lying about. Probably the next thing I do will be to run this through my Grand Calibur with an embossing folder and try to get it to stay with the other hearts on my desk.  At some point, I will use these extra hearts to make a card and then they can strut their stuff!

I used the border cut of a Sue Wilson die (CED 4410 Pyxis) to cut out the pretty scallop and used an embossing folder that I have had so long I didn't write down the names back then.  So sorry!  Then I used the pretty frilly heart from Heartfelt and a pretty gingham bow and the ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I tied the bow with my Bow-It-All from Zutter cause I can't tie a bow for nothing by hand!

Our weather has been pretty terrible the last few days like most everyone on the Eastern side of the US.  Living where I do we only got the tail end of the storm but received a combined 8-9 inches of snow and brutal cold temps.  Yesterday the sun popped out and the temps warmed and I actually saw green grass!  I totally enjoyed the snow, but then being retired I got my bread and milk early and didn't have to get out in the weather!  Everyone have a wonderful day and remember to "Breathe"!

WOYWW #364

Good morning friends!  We have gone through another week and arrived at another Wednesday!  Winter has arrived in East Tennessee with cold, wind and today SNOW!

I'm here to share with you what is going on in my world this morning and what is on my Workdesk!  If you are curious about this little blog hop just head over to Julia's blog and have a look around.  Then take a photo of your space, blog about it,  and link it to her blog.  We can then take a look at your desk or space and visit.  So come on in, have some coffee or hot chocolate and lets visit for a bit!

I love working with dies and here are a couple I just really enjoy.  They are both from  Heartfelt Creations and since I'm thinking Valentine's Day and Birthdays I will probably be using both of these along with the Poppy flowers from Heartfelt Creations as well.  A spool of lace, scissors, and just peeping out from behind the flower you can sort of see one of the die cuts!  It is beautiful and delicate and looks great decorating a card or gracing one of the pages in my mini albums!

Well that does it for me this morning.  I'm off to link up and try to visit some of the participants!  See you there!

Love....

Good morning everyone!  Now that we have Christmas and the New Year behind us and we are well into January I now turn my thoughts to Valentine's Day.  This is my first card.

This is a very easy card that packs a punch, I think!  It's a 4 1/4" X 5 1/2" card with the bottom layer of white cardstock embossed with one of my favorite folders.  It's from Stampin-Up and it's called Vintage Wallpaper.   My little hearts are also embossed with a  Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder.  My ribbon is brand new and it's from Really Reasonable Ribbon. This is a flat card and will mail easily.  I did pop up the hearts to give the card a little dimension.  I almost forgot the sentiment is from the Flourishes Life Lines set.  I cut it out with a spellbinders die called Nested Lacey Pennants.

So there you have it.  I think I covered everything I used.  Happy Monday everyone!

Bella ....

Good morning everyone I'm here with just a quick post of my Bella taking a nap in her bed while I craft!

I warmed her blanket by the fireplace and covered her.  She just snuggled down and took a nice long nap.  She is a snuggler for sure!  It was a cold morning and her little sleeping gown wasn't enough to make her feel comfortable!

Do you have good plans for the weekend?  Take care and enjoy!

WOYWW #345

Good morning everyone from a bitter cold East Tennessee!  We are sitting at 21 degrees this morning and a brisk breeze!  Brrrrrr!  I'm here to share some pictures of my workdesk this morning as a part of WOYWW # 345.  If you would like all the info on this little bit of madness, just hop over to Julia's blog and have a look around.

This first picture is showing what my desk really looks like this morning.  For me, it's a hot mess!  But it is really just some of the different elements I use when doing a mini album.  I have started a new album using the Heartfelt Creations 'Once Upon a Time' paper collection. There is bling on a string, flat back pearls, decorative buttons and lace as well as metal corner pieces.  The die cut doily will be used on my first valentine card of the season. and way in the back behind the magnet package are some little jars of prills or tiny beads to go into flower centers.

One of the pages in my mini album.  I love making all my own flowers, leaves and butterflies plus I always hand dye my seam binding to match the papers.  I'm totally hooked on these albums.

Well that's all for me.  I'm off to visit this morning.  Have a good day; stay warm and remember to "Breathe"!

January Card......

In my never ending quest for a perfect birthday card I submit another quick and easy card made for one of the men in my life who will be needing a card to celebrate his birthday this year!  I'm always needing a quick birthday card to send along to someone in my family and never seem to have enough in my box so this one will be added to the mix!

I used G45 Good Ol' Sport "Hoarded" paper and set it up on a black background. I love these gorgeous reds and greens and of course the images are just perfect for a young man!  It seems I never stay ahead of the number of birthday cards I need but I keep trying.

And just a quick reminder that no matter where you are, or what you are doing, just remember to breathe!

January Craft Hoarders Blog Hop

Good morning friends and welcome to the January Craft Hoarders Blog Hop!  I didn't receive any new "stash" presents for Christmas, but I'm ashamed to say I did check out a couple of sales!  I'm really not ashamed at all!  I just wanted to make you think I am.  Let's face it...once a Hoarder, always a Hoarder!  A girl needs cardstock and bling and new dies; these are all necessities right?

This morning I'm sharing a card I made using the Graphic 45 Botanical Tea paper pack I've been hoarding for awhile now.  I used a tiny bit of the paper before but just couldn't bring myself to use more!  So I decided it was time to pull it out and just go for it.  When I first cut into a page I sigh and  hope I won't "NEED" this page for something important tomorrow!    My card is just a lot of layers and some fussy cutting and a torn page here and there and I filled the torn part with purchased flowers from long ago before I made flowers of my own!  I used dimensional tape to pop up the sign, butterflies, teapot and the bird.  I edged everything with Walnut Stain Distress Ink to give it more dimension.

You should be coming here from Jacquie Southas  blog  After visiting me, hop over to Amber's blog next.  To start at the beginning of the hop, and for the full list of Bloggers, go to Gloria's Blog!  Please follow along the hop for lots of inspiration!

Birthday Time.....

Good morning everyone!  As we step into this brand new year, I just want to do a quick post to wish you health and prosperity for this year!  I have been working on a new mini album and I wanted to do a tag for one of the pockets I plan to do. I have used the Heartfelt Creations Ornate Borders and Pockets Die to be the top of the tag and a piece of the paper from the Once Upon a Time collection also from Heartfelt Creations.  The little butterfly is sprinkled with glitter and sits on a smaller tag from the collection.  All I did was cut out the tag and add the butterfly.

Tie a pretty bow with scrunched seam binding and it is ready to go.  I love doing tags this size because they can go down into a gift bag or a pocket on a mini album or they can be a stand along gift for any occasion.

That does it for me this morning.  Be sure to check back in the morning as I will be participating in the Craft Hoarders Anonymous blog hop!  See you then!
