Heartfelt Creations Wednesday....

Good morning and welcome to a new Heartfelt Creations Wednesday.  We are knee deep into the "Dog Days of Summer" here in East Tennessee and getting to work with snowflakes and sleigh rides has been a welcomed break from the terrible heat!  I have two cards to share this morning and I hope you enjoy them as much as I have enjoyed making them!

Other Products:  Canson Watercolor Paper, White Cardstock, White Seam Binding, Victorian Velvet Distress Ink, Dimensional Tape, Pink Embossing Powder, Scor-Tape

Instructions:
My card is 5 1/2 X 5 1/2.  Make card base and then chose a piece of the paper collection to cover.  In my case, I chose a piece that was 6 X 6 and then cut it down to fit.  I also fussy cut the center of the card and used Guacamole ink to color the edges.  I added some dimensional tape between the cut out window and the clear cardstock to give it a bit of dimension.  Next I used tape to adhere the clear cardstock to the back of this window and then I cut out another image from the paper collection to go behind the clear cardstock.  I used Distress Ink to color my seam binding to match my flowers and once dry I added it to the window piece.  I then taped the window piece to the front of my card.  Stamp, emboss, cut out, color and shape the flowers.  I added prills to the centers of the poinsettias and dyed my seam binding to match.  Cut a little tag from the paper collection and back it with a piece of white cardstock.  I used dimensional tape to pop it up just a bit.  Now decide where  you want the flowers and glue them down and your card is ready.

Banded Z Fold Snowflake Card

Other Supplies:  Spellbinders Standard circles Small, White and Blue Cardstock, Magnets, Pearl Trim, Faded Jeans Distress Ink, hot glue

Instructions:
My card is 5 1/2 X 5 1/2 folded and 5 1/2 X 11 opened up.  Cut a piece of cardstock 5 1/2 X 11 and fold in half.  Fold the front of the card in half back toward the fold of the card forming a Z.  Next cut a piece of cardstock 1 X 11 and fold like you did the base card.  Now decide which of the pretty paper you want to use on the panels of your card.  At this point decide where you would like  your magnets to be to hold the card closed.  I used two sets on my card, one on the front fold and one on the band and the back part of the card.  Glue down magnets and cover the card and the band with some of the paper.  I cut out a pretty snowflake in white and put blue behind it to make it pop.  I adhered this to the band using Double Dots.  I fussy cut the little bird and glued him to the snowflake and then added the flower center to add a bit of bling to the snowflake. Next I glued down the band and then I added a pearl trim down the front of the card.  I also used the snowman die and cut a snowman out of the paper collection.  Next stamp the sentiment and the card is ready to go.

Especially for you.....

Good morning friends.  I find myself at the beginning of a brand new week and I wanted to share another card I have made.  I always need cards tucked away for family and friends just to say hello or to encourage, or just because.  This card is one of those.

This is not an easy card to mail as you would have to protect those little flowers but for someone special you could package it well and send it along.  I especially love the sweet little butterfly.

Time is passing and soon it will be Fall and I have to admit, I'm longing for late September and October!  We have had such hot weather here lately so some cooler temperatures will be welcomed!  That's it for me this morning.  Hope you get to do something you love today! And always remember to "Breathe"!

Other Products Used:  White and Blue Cardstock, Forest Moss Distress Ink, Spellbinders Standard Circles Large, Zig Clean Color Watercolor Real Brush Markers in 026 Light Pink, 094 Gray Brown, 023 Scarlet Red, 036 Light Blue and 047 May Green, Windsor Newton Iridescent Medium, Water Brush, Watercolor Paper, Bling on a String, Dimensional Tape, White Embossing Powder, hot glue

Instructions:
This box is 6 X 6.  Cut one piece of cardstock 8 X 8 and one piece of cardstock at 8 1/16 X 8 1/16.  Score both pieces at 1" around all four sides.  Glue the bottom piece together and set aside.  Now working on the top piece, cut a circle in the middle of the card, then cut out a snowflake and cut off until there is only a short piece left.  Glue it so that it makes a grid for the circle cut out.  Next take a piece of blue cardstock and cut a circle in it.  Place it behind the cut out on the top part of the box and glue the piece of the snowflake between the blue and the white so the cut part is hidden.  Cut another piece of blue cardstock to fit the inside bottom part of the box and glue it down.  Next I found an image of the sleigh on one of the card fronts and cut it out using the circle die again.  Glue this so it is showing behind the circle on the box top.  I used hot glue to apply some bling around the circle just to give it a festive look.

I fussy cut the little snowman and ornaments on another card front and glued it to the top of the box.  Next stamp the little snowman onto watercolor paper and color using the Zig markers  and the iridescent Medium.  Once it dried, I glued it to the corner piece and fussy cut a sentiment out of the paper.  Stamp, emboss and cut out the trees: add glitter to the front of the trees and then use dimensional tape to adhere to the top of the box.  When I embossed the snowflakes, I added some glitter to the embossing powder and then embossed and cut out.   I decided where I wanted the snowflakes to go and then used dimensional tape to adhere them.

This is actually the first time I have made a shadow box and I have really enjoyed making and decorating it.  Try one for yourself.  You will be so pleased you did.

Celebrating You.....

Good morning everyone.  I'm here this morning to share a quick and easy flat card that can be mailed without extra postage.  Most of my cards have lots of layers and dimension and of course flowers and big fluffy bows.  I needed a quick card to send to a friend who isn't feeling well.

I used Heartfelt Creations Everyday Heroes paper collection and it does all the heavy lifting on this card.  I loved these old boots and they reminded me of a farmer's boots so I just fussy cut them out and used dimensional tape to add them to the top layer of my card.

Well this is it for me this morning.  Just remember no matter where you are or what you are doing today....take a moment for yourself and "Breathe".

Watercolor Paper, Hot Glue, Bling on a String

Instructions:
My card is 6 X 6. Cut a piece of cardstock 6 X 12 and score at 3 and 9.  Cover the inside of the card with some of the paper collection.  Stamp the sentiment on the middle panel.  I added bling to the two small pieces of the card just to add some interest.  Close the card and cover the outside panels with some more of the pretty paper from the paper collection.  Next I die cut three of the Rectangle dies and clued them together to give some extra strength to the piece.  Stamp, color and cut out the snowman and add him to the smaller elements of the die and glue that piece on the left side of the card front panel.  (Be sure to leave the right half of the piece hanging off the panel.  This enables it to interlock with the front piece and hold the card together).  Next apply the frame to the right hand side of the card front, also leaving about half of it hanging off the side.  Stamp, emboss and cut out the snowflakes and the tree.  I used dimensional tape to pop up the pieces.  Now you should be able to interlock the left side with the right side of the card front and allow it to stay folded together. If my instructions weren't quite clear, there are numerous videos on the Internet showing how to do this.  I'm a visual learner so they help me a bunch!

Instructions:

Cut the treat box out of white cardstock and fold on the lines created by the die.  Next I cut out pieces of the paper to go on the sides of the box.  The next step is to stamp and cut out the tag twice.  Glue these to the front and back of the treat box.  I used white ribbon to hold the top together and tied a little bow using white seam binding.  I glued the bow with Scor-Tape and glue. Now the box is ready to fill and give during the holiday season.

An August Morning and an Easel Card.....

This morning I want to share an easel card with you.  It is 5 1/2 X 5 1/2 and I have used Heartfelt Creations Raindrops on Roses paper collection.  This is my favorite paper collection and one I reach for often here in my craft room.  The flowers and little butterfly were sitting in a bin on my desk and they matched beautifully so I used them.  I love it when that happens!

We have gently moved into August here in East Tennessee and we begin to see some steamy, foggy mornings in my area.  It has been a very hot and dry season here and we will welcome rain. All around me there are lawns that have lost most of their green grass and so has mine.  Trees are dropping leaves but it is from the stress of heat and no rain. Yesterday I had a 40 minute rain shower and felt so blessed to have received such a gift! Of course more is needed but it had been so long since I had rain I just stood on my porch and watched it come down.  First a few splatters then more and finally a gentle rain!  The smell was amazing and the coolness coming afterward was wonderful!

Now I'm off to visit some of my blog friends as I continue to sip my coffee!

My card is 5 1/2  X  5 1/2.
Make card base and cover with a distressed piece of the paper collection.  Next I cut one of the card fronts out of the paper collection and matted it with dark brown cardstock.  Glue down onto the card front.  Stamp, cut out, color and shape flowers, leaves and stamen.  Add a drop of glue to the ends of the stamen and dip into the pollen and lay aside to dry.  Once dry, glue into the centers of the flowers.  Color the seam binding, scrunch and set aside to dry.  Once dry, tie the bow and glue to the corner of the card front.  Color the cheese cloth and allow to dry; then glue to two of the corners of the card.  Cut out a sentiment from the paper collection and mat onto brown cardstock.  Use dimensional tape and attach it to the card front.  Now glue down the flowers and leaves.

I hope you enjoy my cards as much as I enjoyed making them.  I love creating Christmas cards and of course you know how much I love making flowers so it is a win win here today!
