WOYWW #269

Good morning everyone!  This week is flying by and all of a sudden it is Wednesday and the day I get to share what's on my workdesk!  This little bit fun is hosted by Julia and we all take a picture of our space and blog about it, then link up to Julia's blog and then we have a huge blog hop that includes crafters from all over the world!  Julia has all the rules and regulations listed along the top of her blog so if you want to be one of us just jump in with both feet!

We have had a wonderful growing season here in East Tennessee and my garden has been producing like never before!  So I have been overwhelmed with the work that goes into  getting the veggies from the garden to the jar.

I raise an heirloom bean called "Turkey Craw" and each year I try to save some seeds as I never know if I will be able to find the seeds from year to year.  They are a pole bean and large and beautiful!

These are yellow cherry tomatoes and yellow pear tomatoes.  Again heirloom tomatoes and so wonderful on my salads!  I've had a bumper crop of these; I grow them in containers next to my deck!

The red tomatoes are the ones I can and they have a wonderful sweet flavor.  Also cucumbers and peppers are coming in as well.

My canner at work.  To date I have canned 73 quarts of green beans and 14 quarts of tomatoes.  I have had my nose to the grindstone!

So you can see what I have been into...not much crafting going on but lots of hard work in my kitchen!

OK, now I'm off to visit some of the people participating in the hop.  It's always nice to see what you have going on in your world!

Welcome to Friday!

Good morning everyone and welcome to Friday!  It has been a very long week for me in these parts and I'm happy to have a day that I can take a moment and Breathe!  My garden has been producing and it is canning season in East Tennessee.  I have been very busy picking and canning green beans and tomatoes this week.  I've had my head down and all of a sudden it is Friday!  I'm taking the day off and going into town just to get out and about a bit!  I have a huge mug of coffee on my desk this morning and after my post I plan to spend a little time visiting all my blogging friends and see what you have had going on this week.

Here is my card I'm sharing with you today.  I made the flowers using the Arianna Blooms stamp from Heartfelt Creations and the frilly die cuts behind my flowers are from the Arianna  Lace Dies.  My flower die for cutting out the blooms was on back order so I fussy cut the flowers after I stamped them with a light tan ink.  I used the snowflake punch to make the center of these flowers since I don't receive the die until this morning.  I am so excited to be getting the die because these petals are just gorgeous and I am so excited to be able to play.  My little sentiment is from Flourishes and is layered on a Spellbinder's die cut.  I also used the Bracket Borders Two from Spellbinders for the layers of my card.  So there you have it.  Hope you enjoy this one....now that I look at it, it reminds me of Fall.

Now I'm off to visit.  Hope your day is filled with joy and that you take a moment to "Breathe".

WOYWW # 268

Good Wednesday morning everyone and welcome to WOYWW!  If you like more details about this little adventure, just head over to Julia's blog and she has all the information listed on her blog.  Each Wednesday we get together, take a photo of our desk and blog about it...then link it up on Julia's blog and then we can visit each other.  It's so interesting to see what everyone else has going on in their life and I'm quite addicted!

I'm really quite ashamed by this mess!  Every level surface in my space looks like this....maybe worse!  My grandson is away on a summer vacation trip with his grandfather and they are on a mission trip to Alaska.  He is sending me photos of their trip via Facebook and I'm getting ready to work on an album.  Now I haven't done but a couple of these so this in itself will be an adventure.  I'm just gathering ideas for the covers at this point.  Also I did a bit of shopping yesterday and I just brought it all into my craft room and plopped it down.

The beautiful brown ribbon is a gift from a sweet friend, Kathy, who lives in NC.  Waving a huge hello to Kathy!

Well people, this does it for me this morning!  We are supposed to keep it short and sweet so I'm off to visit as many of you as I can.

Craft Hoarders Anonymous - Challenge #12 - Who's the Boss?

Good morning everyone and welcome to Craft Hoarders Anonymous - Challenge #12 - Who's the Boss! Show some embossing on your project.  You can use dry embossing or heat embossing.  You can use an embossing folder or a stencil.  You can emboss with embossing paste or embossing powder...you can even create something with ultra-thick embossing enamel.  You probably have some sore of embossing apparatus in your hoard! So pull them out and put them to use!

I used an embossing folder from Crafter's Companion for the white card base and then on the blue, I used the same folder and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  It gives my card a totally different look.    I used seam binding colored with a Spectrum Noir marker for the bow and a little bird image from my stash.  I love how my card turned out.  It was very easy to make but I think it packs a punch.

WOYWW #267

Good morning everyone and welcome to Wednesday.  I'm here to share with you the top of my desk this morning so you can see my shame!  Each Wednesday I take a picture of my desk and blog about it and then link to Julia's Blog so the world can see!  We then can visit each other and see what we have going on in our worlds!

I know, I know...this is so not my desk!  But oh yes it is because there is that little punch that has been there for the last three weeks!  Oh my shame! I've been working on a few projects and this is what happens.  My ATG .....love the pink!  Some digital images I've printed off  getting ready to color and on top of those a Spellbinders die and some Crafty Secrets sheets that I'm going to work with!  I've also been working on a couple of cards and need to put several things away!  As you can see the actual space I have left to work on is very tiny!

So there you have it.  If you would like to join us you can head over to Julia's blog and all the specifics are listed at the top of her blog.  So.....I've shown you mine.....now show us yours!

July Crafty Secrets Challenge: Summer Fun

Well this is a new twist for me I know, but I just had to play in this challenge over at The Crafty Secrets Blog.  The theme is Summer Fun and I made this little note card using a digital download (Birds and Blossoms) from Crafty Secrets.  The deadline is tonight so I'm just scooting in under the wire!

This picture reminded me of a bird in plants near the ocean and the colors just scream summer to me.
I am relatively new to Crafty Secrets and I'm become a fast and true friend of all their images and stamps.  Why don't you play along too as you still have a bit of time before the deadline!

Playing with Utee

Good morning everyone!  I have had a crazy couple of days but am about to get back on track.  And suddenly it is Friday and I'm looking back and don't know where my week went. This is one week that I feel like I didn't accomplish anything.

I spend quite a bit of time watching videos on YouTube and I came across one using bits of UTEE leftover from other projects and stamping into it.  So of course I did have some pieces in a jar and I pulled them out, piled them onto my craft mat and went to town.  I pulled out a couple of colors of my Pearl Ex and when the UTEE was melted I took a wooden skewer and swirled purple and blue green through the clear UTEE.  You don't want to mix too much so you can keep the colors and not wind up with a brown blob; just a bit.  Once I was happy with the look, I used a retired SU stamp inked with Gold Encore ink and pressed it lightly into the UTEE.  The gold ink helps the stamp to let go of the UTEE so you don't hurt your stamp.  I'm not sure what the name of the stamp set is but it is from 2006. It has been in my hoard for quite awhile.  Can you see the dragonfly?  I love this set and have used it several times over the years to make cards.  I mounted my piece on a piece of black cs edged with a gold marker.  Everything is pretty simple after that, just mounting onto different pieces of cs.

OK that does it for me this morning.  Hope you are looking forward to the weekend!

WOYWW #266

Good morning everyone.  It is Wednesday and the day I get to share with you the top of my desk.  If you would like to become one of us and show off your space, just pop over to Miss Julia's blog and she has all the directions listed there.  She is the weekly host and owner of this little bit of wonderful nonsense and we all love that she does this for us.  I have become so addicted to this weekly visit I don't know how I'd manage without it!

I have been playing with some colors this week trying to get motivated to make another project.  I'm struggling a bit and hope to be inspired as I move through the participating blogs today.

Do you use seam binding?  Here is my large roll and I used the Spectrum Noir marker to color...any alcohol marker will work for this so you can color your ribbon to match your project.  I colored mine then spritzed it with water and scrunched it up and now it is dry and ready to go on a project.  I've also playing with embossing powders so I have out my Versamark ink pad and my embossing powder.  My brayer needs a good cleaning so it is front and center.  The tool with the piece of chain on the end is a pair of tweezers that I've had forever.  They work so well when I'm working with flowers and I just can't give them up.  They look terrible but still do a fine job.  Oh and one more little thing...my embossing buddy.  The little pillow that you rub over a project and it helps keep the static down to a minimum and therefore your embossing powder goes only where it is supposed to.  Can't live without that little cutie!

Well this is it for me.  I'm off to check out the other blogs and see what you are all doing.  Come join us....I've shown you mine.....now show us  yours!

WOYWW #265

Good morning my friends and welcome to Wednesday and WOYWW #265!  What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday #265 is a huge blog hop from all around the world.  Each week we take a picture of our space and blog about it and then link it to Julia's blog (she is the creator and owner).  Once you have linked your blog you can then visit all the participants in the hop!  I love visiting each week to see what everyone has on their workdesk.  There are all kinds of crafts and some are clean as a whistle.  We all have those times when it is difficult to get our heads on straight.

I just finished a project and need to put some dies and stamps away and then I will have space to start the next creation.

I thought you might like to see my girls.  This is Bella she is now over a year old and doing quite well. I put on my washing machine covered with a pad to do the grooming.  She was so ready to get down and play.

Next is my Maggie. "MagPie" for short!  I named my blog after her.   She is my older girl and she has become quite set in her ways.  She was a little upset with me because I had to get out a few knots and she didn't like having to sit for so long.

She wouldn't even look up at me.  I was seriously cutting into her nap time.

Well that's it for me.   I've shown you mine.....now show me yours!  Now I'm off to visit as many of the desks as I can.  Come join in!
