A Better look....

This is a card that was on my desk last Wednesday when I did the WOYWW party!  I just wanted to give you a better look at this one.  I just love the sweet image from G45 and the sentiment also and I handmade the flowers and dipped the centers in glitter.

I have been busy working on stripping wall paper from a bathroom and I've been down on my knees, not a bad thing and up on a ladder until this tired old body was screaming calf rope!  So I just sat for a whole day and looked at the wall and I could see the color I was wanting in my mind.  A sort of soft yellow very close to these yellow flowers.

Thus I have not been in my craft room much in the last several days.  Hoping I can finish up this week and have a wonderful fresh happy bathroom soon!

WOYWW 251

Good morning everyone!  It is Wednesday and time once again to share my work desk with you.  Each week we take a picture of our desks, blog about it and link up at Julia's blog. Next we can visit each others space just by clicking on the names.  It is such fun and I am forever grateful to Julia for starting this as well as continuing to try and keep all us duckies in a row!

We have been experiencing a true East Tennessee Spring here.  Two days ago it was 73 degrees and yesterday there was lots of wind and blowing snow showers.  Quite a contrast don't you think?  I took this photo yesterday afternoon but it looks the same this morning.

As you can see, my desk is pretty clean here. A couple of cards I have been working on and a tag I did for the Heartfelt Creations Alumni Blog Hop.   I laid my new Tim Holtz 9.5 inch shears down beside my older, shorter ones and I have to say these longer shears are going to have a favorite spot on my desk as well.

Well I'm off to visit.  Hope your day is fabulous and that you get to be creative in some way.  And as always take a moment, just for you and "Breathe"!

I love how this turned out!  It's quite simple but gets the job done with a pow!  Well it has turned into Monday all day long and half the night!  So let's get with it and get to moving!

A Page from my Graphic 45 Mini Album...

Good morning everyone.  I hope you are ready for your Friday and that you are looking forward to your weekend.  I have had a busy week but haven't really accomplished much.  Sometimes I just feel like I've been spinning my wheels.

This morning I want to share another page I have finished in my Graphic 45 mini album!  I used Sweet Sentiments and Once Upon a Springtime papers to finish this page.  I also have a little metal butterfly from Graphic 45 Staples.  I ran it through my embossing machine with an embossing folder and then sprayed some color on it for just that little bit of "pop".  A handmade flower and leaves; a little lace and suddenly this becomes a thing of beauty.  I used a Spellbinders die for the top of the pocket and I slipped a little postcard down inside.  I just love the fresh colors of the papers...they really remind me of Spring!

I hope you have a wonderful Friday and a great weekend.  Now I'm off to visit some of my blog buddies!

What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday #250

Good Wednesday morning everyone and welcome to WOYWW #250.  If you are a little confused as to what this is all about just hop over to Julia's blog and she has all the specifics about this there.  This week I didn't take a picture of my desk because it's pretty clean right now.  I've just been hanging out and taking a rest...sometimes we just need to recharge.  Instead I'm going to show you my finished canvas that was on my desk last week.  Now Mixed Media and I just don't seem to get along too well. When it comes to working on a canvas, I can't seem to know when to quite.  Suddenly it looks like it has way too many colors involved and they are not getting along.  I have another canvas so I'm going to try again.  I refuse to give up.

The message says:  My Wish and the photo is a freebie from the Internet.  Just so you know I have already gone back in and painted some more Gesso to lighten some of the colors.  It seems I am never satisfied with this type of art.  But I took this and hung it in my bedroom and low and behold it works in there so I have a new piece of art to use as a decoration in there.  Yes that's me doing a happy dance!  I think what it all boils down to is there is no set pattern as to what you do or don't do.  It's totally up to you and when you become happy with a piece then it is finished.  So I declare this piece finished!

Now I'm going over to Julia's blog and see how many of you I can visit this morning.  I never seem to get as far along as I would like.  Please forgive me if I don't make it round to all of you.  But I do keep trying!

Good morning everyone and welcome to Challenge #4 at Craft Hoarders Anonymous!

Use this photo as inspiration and show us your Sparkle, Glitz or Glam!  Go into your stash and use some of those hoarded items and create something wonderful and play along with us.  Blog about your creation and then link up with us at Craft Hoarders Anonymous!  It is just amazing that we are already at Challenge #4 of this brand new challenge blog.  Your participation has been just wonderful and I'm making new friends and getting to visit so many talented people!

Graphic 45 is our Sponsor for the whole month of March and they are really being generous with their gifts for the winners.  Another reason to play along with our challenge.  Who wouldn't love to win this wonderful prize package!

Now on to my creation for this challenge:

Can you see the tear stains on this paper?  I went into my hoard and pulled out the remaining pages of my very first Graphic 45 paper that I won in a challenge somewhere. (Once Upon a Springtime)   I used it to make a paper bag album for my sister awhile back and then I just felt I had to hold the remainder of these beautiful papers.  But this is about going into our hoards and making something so I just want you to know I did this just for you guys!  I still have 1 full page and some remnants left over and I'm afraid I may never use those.

Now you can visit the rest of the team by clicking on their names on my side bar or by going to the Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge blog.  Leave comments; we all love hearing from you.  Then get busy and show us some bling!  I can't wait to see what you create!

Supplies:
Graphic 45 Once Upon a Springtime paper
Spellbinders Wrought Iron Die
Zutter Distrezz-it-All
HCD 718 Decorative Chateau Gate Die (Heartfelt Creations)
Some bling from my hoard (I can't remember where I got it)

What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday # 249

Good morning everyone and welcome to WOYWW!  I love Wednesdays because I get to visit with so many people from all over the world thanks to Julia and her amazing idea that we might like to peep into each other's world!  For all the specifics just visit Julia's blog and get the low down and then take a picture of your desk and blog about it.  Then link to Julia's blog and you are all set to start to visit. You will see so many different interests and I'm sure you will find something to hold your interest!

I'm working on a mixed media canvas and I think I have pulled out just about everything I own to try and decide what I want to incorporate on this one.  I have used some modeling paste and I've decided I'm going to do some more.  I did some brick and a dragonfly or two and some chicken wire and a heart and swirls.  Some of it is not showing yet.  I've cut up a doily and pulled out some lace and I've been making roses that I will use with some bought flowers and leaves.  I think the whole idea is to pull out lots of goodies and then start playing with where you might like to use it.  Once you have an idea in your head...add some more and then glue it all down; then you are all set to spray with  shimmer sprays to give it color.  I love that part!  I'm already having fun with it.  I can't wait to see how it all turns out.  I will share it in a few days.  I've been doing some Spring cleaning so I'm not sure when I will get to come back in to play.  A day or so just gives me time to decide and get a more clear idea in my head!

OK, I've shown you mine...show us yours!  I'm off to visit as many desks as I can this morning.  Have a good day!

Another Page from my Graphic 45 Album.....

Hello everyone and welcome to Monday!  I have been battling a tummy bug so I'm hoping to get back in the groove today.  To get things started I'm sharing another page from my album.

I made a diagonal pocket and trimmed with a retired Spellbinders die (Grand 12" Classic Lace Border)  from my hoard .  I cut a strip of the G45 Secret Garden paper and glued it down the side of the pocket (Such pretty flowers).  Next I made a tag and covered it with a piece of the green paper and cut out a journaling spot and put it on the top and I also cut out a piece that had a sentiment on it and I used pop dots to pop it up from the rest of the tag.  I tied a piece of off white seam binding and edged the edges with distress inks and that tag is finished.  I did a large photo tag and slipped it down in the same pocket.  On the front of the diagonal pocket there is a small pocket with a little tag I cut out of the papers as well.  I put a little bling as well as the ticket that says "Spring" on the outside of this pocket.  Next comes a few pretty flowers (Out of my hoard and I cannot remember from where).  I cut out a butterfly and glittered it up and then I glued him to the bottom of the flowers.  I also added some glitter to the daisy flowers on the background sheet.  So you see, I continue to use items from my hoarded stash on my projects.  I think I might be on a roll!

This page was a lot of fun but I must confess I need some ideas for more pockets for tags for the remainder of the pages.  I'm thinking I will check out YouTube for some ideas.  Who knows what I might try next!

OK, that does it for me this morning.  I hope you enjoy this as much as I have enjoyed making it.  This is truly addictive and I will probably do more, but I have to confess, I truly miss my card making.

Oh one more thing!  This morning at 9AM EST go check out the Craft Hoarders Anonymous blog Gloria  is featuring some of the favorites picked from their entries and showcasing their creations. How cool is that?  Be sure to go and leave some love.  We all love hearing from you!

Purple Power.....

Good morning everyone!  I'm here to share another page from my album I've been working on.

This page has a pocket and the tag is actually a picture mat.  I used more pretty Graphic 45 papers and handmade flowers from the Susan's Garden daisy dies.  Also Spellbinders dies help make this a favorite for me.  Everything is topped off with some purple ribbon and it makes me a happy girl!  I'm having fun with this so far.  I think once I get the hang of these mini albums I might actually become addicted.  I really love the concept but they are a lot of work.  This one is definitely for me.  It will be sitting on a chest in my craft room for me to enjoy each day.

Well that's it for me this morning.  I know this is short and sweet but I need to move along and take some photos for another project.  Have a great day and a wonderful weekend.

WOYWW #248

Good morning everyone and Welcome!  Grab a cup of whatever you like to drink in the morning and let's spend a little time together.  For all the low down on WOYWW, you can visit Julia's blog; after all, she is the creator of of this little madness!  I love Julia dearly, but the woman has totally addicted me to this Wednesday madness!  I love visiting everyone's desk and seeing what they have going on!  It's a wonderful way to spend your Wednesday!

Not too much going on this morning...actually sort of clean.  I'm in between projects and have just pulled a few things to decide what I want to do next.  I received some new Graphic 45 stamps made by Hampton Art and I love them.  This set is Botanical Tea.  I love the humming bird and butterflies of this set and it will be seeing ink really soon.  Did you notice I turned my CD case sideways and set my monitor on top of it.  That gave me quite a bit more room on my desktop  and I have been enjoying the extra elbow room.

OK, that's it for me this morning.  I'm going to keep this short and sweet!  Have a good day and I'm off to visit as many WOYWW participants as I can!

Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge # 3...Vintage or Retro Style

Good morning everyone and welcome to Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge #3.  This is sort of a long post, so get your cuppa  and let's visit for a little while.

First off...if you will take note on my side bar...Design Team A and B have come together for one large wonderful team.  We will post on the first week of the challenge and since our challenges run for two weeks, on the second week there will be guest designers.  I'm sure you are going to see some wonderful pieces posted on that second week as well so mark that on your calendars and check back!

When our challenge this week  said "Vintage or Retro Style" I knew exactly which one is me.  I'm totally Vintage!  So I went into my stash to see what I could come up with.  Graphic 45 is our sponsor for the whole month of March so of course I wanted to use some of their papers!  They are my new most favorite products!

They have donated an awesome prize package just check it out!

How wonderful is this?  Now don't even try and tell me you wouldn't love to have this!  So much crafty goodness and you could be the winner.  Just go into your hoard (I know you have one) and pull out supplies that best says what your style is.  Use some of that hoard and make a project, blog about it and then link back to it from the Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge blog.  You have until midnight on March 16 to join us.  Good luck to you all and I  hope to see your project there!  Now on to my project!

Those of you who know me, know I'm all about the dies and flowers!  I love making flowers and I seem to hoard dies that make the petals.  So together with Graphic 45 and my flower making dies I made this card.  I used A Ladies Diary for these gorgeous papers and I did some fussy cutting and popping up with dimensional tape.  I will list the flowers, leaves and dies in the supply list below.  So I used some old hoarded items and some new hoarded items.  This Graphic 45 paper is something that I love, love, love.  Who knew I would be so crazy about this company.  I only have a couple of old paper pads that I won a few years ago and so recently I got some new papers and now I just want to look at them and not use them.  I'm really trying to break bad and cut it up!  Yes, yes....I know...my name is Glenda and I'm a Hoarder!

So come join us from this wonderful challenge and you could win this amazing prize!  Good luck and get to it!
