WOYWW #277

We have reached mid-week again and it is time to share my workspace with you.  I love being a part of this little get together each week and it is hosted by Julia.  You may visit her by clicking on her name and you can check out her blog for all the rules and regulations for this world wide blog hop.

Last week I shared with  you some sunflowers I was making and then on Friday I blogged about the card I made using those flowers.  Today I want to share with you how I made the sparkle for the flower centers.

I had all kinds of gold seed beads and some gold Gala Glitz and I mixed that in a plastic cup with some Distress Glitter in Clear Rock Candy then I dropped in some Memento ink in Rich Cocoa and stirred and stirred until the color was all mixed in.  I left it overnight in the cup and allowed it to dry and then I put it in the glass jar.  It makes beautiful centers for my flowers and you too can make your own colorful centers for flowers.  I'm sure there would be many other uses for this, so just let your imagination take you away.  Gala Glitz is quite expensive for the amount you receive but I was not using the gold color I purchased in it, so I decided to just add it to my mixture.  It also gives another dimension to the recipe.  Just use whatever you have on hand.  I'm sure you could even use some chunky glitter as well.

Since you are using glass you need some type of ink that will color it so you could even use Alcohol Inks as well.  Now my sunflowers are all set to make their appearance on my next card.  This is part of my ongoing plan to use what I have on hand...it's a Craft Hoarder Anonymous thing!

I'm off to visit as many desks as I can before I have to start my chore list for the day! Have a great rest of the week!

That's another good reminder to use some of my beads and things. I also have plenty of glitter and alcohol reinkers. I like these as flower centers. Not that I make your luscious flowers, but at least I could make luscious flower centers. Thanks for the info, Glenda!

What a clever idea, Glenda. The end result is lovely - well done. Still haven't made it back to CHA challenges recently - life just keeps getting in the way....
Take care. God bless.

That is brilliant! I think we all have seed beads we'll never use--and it's a great way to use something in your stash. Have a good week! Sandy Leigh #57
