Playing with Utee

Good morning everyone!  I have had a crazy couple of days but am about to get back on track.  And suddenly it is Friday and I'm looking back and don't know where my week went. This is one week that I feel like I didn't accomplish anything.

I spend quite a bit of time watching videos on YouTube and I came across one using bits of UTEE leftover from other projects and stamping into it.  So of course I did have some pieces in a jar and I pulled them out, piled them onto my craft mat and went to town.  I pulled out a couple of colors of my Pearl Ex and when the UTEE was melted I took a wooden skewer and swirled purple and blue green through the clear UTEE.  You don't want to mix too much so you can keep the colors and not wind up with a brown blob; just a bit.  Once I was happy with the look, I used a retired SU stamp inked with Gold Encore ink and pressed it lightly into the UTEE.  The gold ink helps the stamp to let go of the UTEE so you don't hurt your stamp.  I'm not sure what the name of the stamp set is but it is from 2006. It has been in my hoard for quite awhile.  Can you see the dragonfly?  I love this set and have used it several times over the years to make cards.  I mounted my piece on a piece of black cs edged with a gold marker.  Everything is pretty simple after that, just mounting onto different pieces of cs.

OK that does it for me this morning.  Hope you are looking forward to the weekend!

I Love stamping into melted utee and other embossing powders! So fun! One of the original cards I sent in for HC DT application was using one of their flowers into utee. LOL The technique makes such a nice faux metal medallion and the dragonfly you used is gorgeous stamped in it. It made a beautiful focal point for your pretty card! Thanks for the reminder about the technique... I haven't done it in a while.

I had that set and now wish I hadn't let it go. Can't remember the name, either. How gorgeous with the gold in the UTEE!
