What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday #256

Good morning all!  It's the middle of the week and I get to share the mess on my desk with you this morning.  All of this is brought on by Miss Julia and you can visit her blog to get all the specifics about this little bit of madness that we all allow into our lives each and every Wednesday!  I'm totally addicted to this and my Wednesday would just not be the same without getting to visit everyone and see what you have going on in your lives.

I know this doesn't look like it has any reason for being in this mess but believe me it does.  I've been making envelopes and I'm thinking about a canvas I want to do so I have been gathering a few supplies to work on that.  The gray and teal thingy on my desk is the We are Memory Keepers Envelope Maker board and I have to say I use it almost every day!  It is an awesome piece of equipment and I find I can't live without it.  The rest is just bits and pieces and "Stuff"...and then there is my huge "to go" cup of coffee.  I have taken to filling that each morning and I don't have to get up and go for more coffee every few minutes and it stays hot a good long time.  Yep, I'm thinking I might be addicted to that cup!

Well that's it for me this morning.  I'm off to visit as many busy desks as I can before it's time to move on.  Have a great day!

Heartfelt Creations April Alumni Design Team Blog Hop

Good morning everyone and welcome to the April Heartfelt Creations Alumni Design Team Blog Hop! I loved being on the Heartfelt Creations design team and being a part of the Alumni Design Team feels pretty awesome as well!  Each month Heartfelt Creations gives away a $25 gift certificate to one lucky winner for product in their online store.  To insure you have a better chance to win you must follow along the links listed below and leave a comment on as many of the blogs as you can.  You never know who's blog will be the one used to pick a winner.   You have until midnight on Friday, May 2nd., to leave your comments and the winner of the gift certificate will be announced on Saturday, May 3rd.

I used the Delicate Asters Paper Collection as the background for this card.  I stamped and cut out the flowers and leaves  using more of the paper collection and then added some extra shading using distress inks.  Rhinestones went on as a center to the flowers and as accents on the edges of the card as well as I dotted the "i" in the sentiment.  I hope you like this; it is using some of my favorite papers and dies and stamps from Heartfelt Creations. The colors of this paper collection just  makes me a very happy girl.  (I know, I know...I say that about each and every collection!)

Well that's it for me this morning...remember to visit as many of the links below as you can and leave some love along the way.  Good luck to you all.

Gift Tag.....

Good morning everyone.  Hope you are doing well.  I'm here to share a tag I have made using pinks and greens and handmade flowers.  I used stamps and dies from Heartfelt Creations and Distress Inks to color.  I think this is very delicate looking and just love that beautiful swirl on the bottom.  The tag is a large one measuring 4" X  7 3/4" .  Just perfect for giving as a gift on its own or to stick down inside a gift bag with a gift.  I'm a huge fan of these larger tags.  They offer a blank canvas for many types of techniques and decorating ideas.

Well this does it for me this morning.  Hope you are having safe weather wherever you are.  All the bad weather from Kansas is headed our way with thunderstorms in the making.  I will be keeping an eye to the sky today.

Welcome to Friday.......

Good morning everyone and welcome to Friday...  When I was working, Friday was a big deal...now...not so much.  Being retired I just putter right along and do my work when I want and I don't have to work around a work schedule.  Lately I have been working so hard trying to get the yard and garden whipped into shape and my days and weeks have all just run together.  Each year I get slower and slower and the weeds get faster and faster.  Thankfully, the garden is ready to go.  I have planted some cabbage plants and have other plants ready to go for when the weather breaks and the ground dries. I have a pretty good space for growing veggies and love to dig in the dirt!  It's very good for me to be outside and the exercise is wonderful for me.  I work a bit and sit a bit.  I have a yard chair sitting under the apple trees and there seems to always be a breeze close by so I have a wonderful place to sit and rest.  When the cool breeze hits my face, it's like a kiss from an angel!

This morning I'm here to  share a card I made using my new Spellbinders dies:  Card Creator A2 Valiant Honor dies.  These are wonderful...they do all the heavy lifting for my card.  All I had to do was make this sweet little flower and leaves and my card is ready to go.  How easy is that. Spellbinders has always been near and dear to my heart, but they have just earned a new place of honor on my desk.  These new dies from CHA are just amazing and I'm so happy to have them.  I will be sharing more with you along the way.

Pretty neat, huh?  This set is so intricate...just love it!  The flower and leaves are made by me and tinted with a little distress ink to match the purple card stock.   Hope you enjoy!

Have a great day and a wonderful weekend.  We are getting rain here this morning so I'm going to take this opportunity to do some inside work and hopefully play in my craft room awhile.  We will talk soon!

Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge #6 - Sketch Challenge with a twist...

Good morning everyone and welcome to challenge #6 at Craft Hoarders Anonymous! This is sort of a long post so get your cup of coffee or tea and lets have a little visit!  I'm so glad that you came!   Our sponsor for the whole month of April is Hampton Arts and they have supplied a most wonderful gift to be given away at the very end!  This wonderful crop case comes  minus the supplies of course.

Hampton Art, founded in 1980 in picturesque Long Island, NY, has been inspiring stampers, crafters and papercraft enthusiasts for over 20 years.  One of the earliest "art stamp" companies, Hampton has transformed over the years to become a complete provider of creative products such as stamps, inks, papers, kids crafts, stationery, scrapbooking supplies and card making accessories for crafters of every age and skill level.  We focus on working together with other companies through strong, personal relationships and licensing partnerships to consistently bring fun, inspiring products to market.  We have a portfolio of brands including Hampton Art, Studio G, Diffusion Ditto, and our latest addition, Ki Memories, acquired in 2012.  Our products can be found via most national craft retailers at over 5,000 stores across the US and Canada.  We also ship to 20 different countries across the globe.  Hampton was acquired by National Spinning Co., Inc. of  Washington, NC, our current home, in 2008.  For more information, visit our website.

Now here is the sketch you will need to follow:

Now the twist part of this challenge is for you to go into your hoard and find something old and something new to use on your project.  You have until midnight on May 4th to make your project and link it to the Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge Blog.  All the challenge rules and regulations are listed there as well.  I am so excited to see your projects!

Please note: You do NOT have to use Hampton Art products to enter the challenge. As long as your project uses the inspiration sketch, you may use whatever products you have in your stash!

Here is my card I created for this challenge:

My something old is the design paper, the script stamp I used on the flower petals and the flower die. My something new is the Studio G stamp the banner die and the clock dies.  I stamped the "Life is Good" and then fussy cut it to use on my card.  I love this stamp and you will be seeing more of it to come!

You can see what the design team members created by checking out the Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge blog or you can click on their names on the sidebar of my blog and you will be taken to their individual blogs and you can comment on their projects.  Go and visit and leave them some love!  We all love hearing from you!

Once Upon a Springtime.....Graphic 45 card.....

Good morning everyone and welcome to Friday and the fringes of another weekend!  Where did this week go?  I have been so very busy doing Spring clean up and getting my garden plot ready to plant that I have barely taken a moment to breathe.  I guess I need to practice what I preach but I'm afraid my weekend will consist of more of the same.  Weeds are jumping and there is lots of scrubbing to do as well.  I did take a moment to play in my craft room yesterday and I made this card using the Graphic 45 Once Upon a Springtime collection.  I still have a page or two left but it is mostly the greens.  Well I like green too, so here it is.

My card is 5 1/4" square and just full of little things that I hope catch your eye.  It's pretty straight forward and I will have a supply list below.  I need to make a box to send this one inside so it can be protected.

OK that's it for me this morning.  I'm off to visit some blogs and see what's going on in your worlds!  Have a great day and a wonderful weekend!

Supplies:
Green card stock
Graphic 45 (Once Upon a Springtime Paper)

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday #254

Good morning all you happy Wednesday snoopers and welcome to WOYWW!  I am here to show off my desk this morning and let you have a small glimpse into my little world.  If you would like the details on this little get together, just head over to Julia's blog and have a look around.  She created this and has all the instructions posted there to help you if you want to join us.  We are all a little snoopy at heart and I do love to visit every one's desk and see what you have going on.

There is not a lot going on here.  I've just finished a project that I cannot share with you right now but this is the leftover mess.  Since then I have just been cutting die cuts, lots of die cuts and will be listing them in my shop soon.  I did recently purchase a paper towel holder for my desk so now I don't have to go rummaging into a drawer to get one when my hands are all dirty.  A pretty good thing to have.

Well that's it for me this morning.  Hopefully next week I'll have something wonderfully creative to show you, but for today....this is it.  Now I'm off to visit as many desks as I can this morning!

Friday, April 11, 2014

We have been enjoying gorgeous weather in these parts the last couple of days and suddenly I'm feeling overwhelmed with yard work.  Easter is just around the corner and I have one last Easter card to share with you.  I used the Graphic 45 Sweet Sentiments paper and a sparkly flourish from Heartfelt Creations to make this special card.

The bottom of the card is finished off with some crinkled seam binding and a bow.  Lots of distressing  and layers with the sweet flourish peeping out from under the corner.

Now I'm off for more coffee and to visit some blogs.  It's still early so I can linger over my cuppa and visit a spell!

Supplies:
G45 Sweet Sentiments Paper
Canson Watercolor Paper
Seam Binding
Ranger Vntage Photo Distress Ink
HCD 718 Decorative Chateau Gate Die From Heartfelt Creations
Glitter

WOYWW # 253

Good morning everyone and welcome to WOYWW!  Now if you are wondering about this you can head over to Julia's blog and she has all the specifics there.  Julia is the creator of this little bit of madness we all have on Wednesdays!

Front and center is a little grapevine wreath that I am going to re-work.  It has some of the colors I need but it also had peach colored bows that don't match anything in my house anymore.  I will add some burgundy colored flowers and maybe some green ribbon and it should work better for me.

Also you can see my new We R Memory Keepers Crop-A-Dile Corner Chomper with the teal colored handles.   I am learning to love this new tool.  And right behind the wreath you can see my new Tim Holtz Sponge holders.  They are small enough to handle even for flower petals.  I love them!

OK that's it for me today.  I'm off to visit as many of the desks as I can!
