My Very First Mini Album.......

Good morning everyone!  It's Friday and we are rushing headlong into the weekend.  Our temps are warming once again into the 50's and we are all turning our thoughts toward Spring.  I noticed a couple of Maple trees in my yard that are trying to put out new leaves.  I sure hope they don't get nipped back. But that is a sure sign of Spring to me!  It is coming and I am definitely ready!

I'm here to share a page from the mini album I am working on.  This is my first effort in this direction so be gentle with your comments.  I have always loved the idea of these but they just seemed like way too much work and I was afraid I would lose interest before I could finish.  Then I realized I couldn't finish if I didn't begin.  So I'm sharing the first page this morning. This album will be kept; it is just for me and I will have it sitting here in my craft room on one of my tables!  Like most of you, I seldom keep anything for myself; but this one is for me!

I recently joined the design team for Craft Hoarders Anonymous and in my welcoming box there was some Graphic 45 papers.  Now I only had a couple of paper pads that I had won a few years ago and I  had never been properly introduced to this company.  Also I found a web site that only charges $4 per shipment, no matter what you order and they have discounted prices for their papers as well.  The Scrap Castle is my new best friend and I am shouting their praises from the roof tops.  I have now become a hoarder of Graphic 45!  My mini album will be made using Sweet Sentiments, Secret Garden and Once Upon a Springtime.

My front page is just one of the pages of the gorgeous papers and then I took another sheet and fussy cut some of the images and then used pop dots to raise them up.  Also I used some glitter ... you know me there has to be glitter.  The corner pieces are from Joy Crafts dies and I made a flower for the bottom corner.  The little pink wings are from Spellbinders.  Way back when, when you purchased a die from them they would send you a small gift in the package.  These were one of those gifts.  I know you can no longer get these, but I just had to use them.  They are a part of my hoarded stash for sure!

OK, that's it for me this morning.  Be sure and join me on Monday morning as the Craft Hoarders Anonymous design team will be bringing you a brand new challenge.  Hope you can join us!

You know that old saying, "The Journey of a 1000 miles begins with the first step?" Well, this is a wonderful first step! It is classically you...soft, feminine and filled with thoughtful touches like that gorgeous flower, the sweet corner pieces and the glittery butterfly! You are on your way...and I warn you...these little guys do take a ton of time, but they are addictive! I'm so proud of you for stepping into something new....it inspires me!

Beautiful love all the detail.
As Kathy says it is the "first" step on a journey and a wonderful step from where I am sitting
Have a great weekend

Congratulations for taking that step, it is a beautiful start on an album. I too have those "Dreams" of trying...however I did do a Fabric one last year and it was quite simple once you get the supplies in order. AND I love the supplies you used on this. So feminine, beautiful sparkle and colors. Glad to hear you are keeping it. And I love those special little wings.
Have a lovely weekend with your sunshine and warm temps. Again I only can dream of that right now.

Hi Glenda,

What a great beginning to your mini album! I love the vintage feel of the girls and of course, the glitter. It's your signature, for sure.

According to our weatherman, rain/snow is in the forecast. I hope he's right! As other parts of the country need relief we need a storm!

Hugs,
Kay

G45 has pretty papers especially if you hand cut to pop up like you did. They are also great to make calendars because of all the little images in the paper collections. Enjoy! I'm glad you're making something for yourself... we all need that once in a while. :) Leave room for a few photos that are special to you also.

I had to actually LOL when I read you received a welcome box of goodies for the Craft Hoarders Anon DT because I thought the purpose was to use what you have already and not get new stuff... bwahahaha. And that is coming from someone who has probably 5 feet of papers if I stacked them all together. I console myself by telling myself I'm sure there are people who would LOL at my measly 5ft. Oh well... have a good weekend and I cant wait to see the rest of your album!

I have a couple of G45 6x6 pads and have used them only for very special cards that I hoped would be treasured! I'm so sad to see my hoarded stash dwindle to almost nothing!! You will LOVE their papers....soooo you!!
