My Abby girl........

I have a hole in my heart!  There is an empty space in my life!  I have lost my Abby girl, my devoted friend of 11 years.  Those of you who know me, know I'm a big Yorkie lover and I have had two little girls for many years.  This past Sunday evening I fed Abby and she promptly lost her dinner.  From there on out she would not eat.  I watched her closely on Monday with  no improvement and on Tuesday we visited the vet.  She got a shot and some meds and a good prognosis.  We came home and Wednesday morning she was not improved; in fact she was worse and seemed to be in pain.  We went back to the vet.  They did some blood work and discovered she was borderline diabetic and in stage 4 kidney failure.  She was in so much pain and the vet said there was nothing he could do that she was dying.  Abby had always been my healthy girl; never sick and I was just in shock.  How could this happen with no outward signs?

So I hugged her tight, told her I loved her and let her go.  I will miss her little face!

What can I say my dear. Nothing will make the pain go away at this moment in time. Memories of the happy times you spent to-gether will take over at some point and they will give hope. Its something we have had to deal with too and its like part of you goes with them. In my thoughts Glenda. Hugs Rita xx

I am so sorry Glenda. We have had to go through the same thing with numerous dogs, cats and ferrets over the 42 years we have been married. It's the biggest reason we didn't get any more pets after we lost our cat a year ago. We just didn't want the heartbreak again.

I know that there are so many animals that need homes, (we've always had rescued animals), but it hurts so much to lose them that we haven't been able to get another one.

I'm hoping your pain eases soon. Hugs, Kathi

So sorry. Today we also said goodbye to our cuddly cat, Buddi.

I am so sorry to hear about Maggie, your buddy. My heart goes out to you; I have a 12-year old bichon that is my little buddy and she means everything to us and cannot imagine a day without her. Not every puppy has a wonderful life like Maggie, so I hope you are comforted some by knowing she had a loving home, loving 'mom' and a life that was happy every day. Hugs.
