Happy Heartfelt Creations Wednesday....

Today I'm sharing with you one of my favorite cards I have made for Heartfelt Creations.  There is just something about this one that pulls at my heart strings.  I've been having a little trouble doing Christmas cards this early and suddenly this one just fell together.  Something about this one reminds me of my Mom and Dad (both deceased).  They both loved the Christmas season and it was one of our biggest celebrations of the year!  So as I was doing this one, suddenly I felt joyous and filled with the Spirit of Christmas.  My Mom would have loved the dove and my Dad would have wondered at the delicate work of the Lace Border Die.  So this one is for you Mom and Dad!

The products I used on this one are:  HCPC 3421 Dove of Peace PreCut Set and HCD 713 Lace Border Die.  Of course I also used Spellbinders Ovals and some silver embossing powder.  For all the specifics on this one go on over to the Heartfelt Creations blog and you can also see what everyone else created this week.  As always you can also click on the design team members names to the right of my blog and visit the individual blogs.  Leave them a comment.  We all love hearing from you!

Well that does it for me this morning.  I'm off to visit the other design team members and have a look around.  I hope your Wednesday is a good one and that you are blessed in some way!

What's On Your Workdesk? Wednesday #121

Good morning everyone!  If you are wondering why I'm showing you a picture of my new desk again this Wednesday...well every Wednesday some of us creatures take pictures of our work space and post them on Julia's blog and then we can all have a little look around and see what we each have going on in our lives!

A couple of week ago I showed you this new desk I have in my craft room and it was all neat and clean and you could see the top of it then.  Now I've changed my ways....instead of the "Push Back" method, I'm now using the "Pile High" method.  Now granted this not look really messy but you have admit that there are two distinct piles starting here!  What was once a clean and shiny space has now become piles of little bits and pieces and scraps of paper and dust here and there!  Well I have a good excuse.  I'm working on my very first paper bag album and I'm not one bit organized about it!  So you are seeing lunch bags and papers as I try and decide what I'm going to cover the bags with.  This is becoming an adventure and I'm beginning to feel like I'm a little in over my head!  It will be a miracle if I get this finished!  If I do in fact finish this one, I have high hopes of doing two as Christmas presents!  Wish me luck.

Well I'm off to see what everyone else has going on this morning!  Have a great day and come back a little later as I will be posting another Heartfelt Creations card!

Silent Night....

This is the second time I'm doing this post.  I tried to use the scheduled post for this morning and I somehow hit the wrong key and it posted early.  So I went in and deleted it and am trying it again!

I hope your Monday is getting off to a good start!  We had a wonderful weekend here and we are enjoying the cooler temperatures.  The mornings are cool and crisp and the sunshine is wonderful and the skies are such a clear blue.  Just beautiful.

This morning I'm sharing another card I made for Heartfelt Creations.  The products used on this card are:
HCPC 3424 Poinsettia Bells and Bows PreCut Set and HCPC 3428 Script Christmas Tree PreCut Set.
I colored the image with Ranger Distress Inks and used various Spellbinders dies to add interest to the card.  The colors I chose to work with here are not traditional Christmas colors, but we all have our own ideas of what "Christmas" is supposed to look like.

Well that is all for me this morning!  I'm off to start my day and get this week started!  Have a wonderful day and try and take just a moment and "Breathe"!

This morning I want to share another card I made for Heartfelt Creations.  As you know, not only am I a design team member for this company, but I truly love their stamps.  The quality is awesome and I love the flower designs they have created!  So sit back and continue reading and I will tell you all about this one!
Heartfelt Creations Products Used:
HCPC 3428 Script Christmas Tree PreCut Set
HCPC 3415 Petite Poinsettia PreCut Set

HCPC 3417 Poinsettia Ornament 2 PreCut Set

Instructions: Card Size 5” X 5” Make card base and create layers and attach to base. Emboss a piece of watercolor paper with embossing folder and attach on top of the layers. Stamp ornament onto cardstock and emboss with gold embossing powder, cut out and set aside. Stamp flower layers and emboss with gold embossing powder and cut out. Glue layers together and in the center of the last layer add Gala Glitz. Glue flower to ornament and attach ornament to card. Tie a tiny bow and glue to the top of the ornament. Trash to Treasure...

Good morning bloggers.  I'm sitting here with coffee cup filled to the brim trying to think about starting my day.  Since I'm getting older I'm having a hard time keeping up with my mail.  So here is what I did to help my problem.

From this:

To this:
Since I am the self proclaimed " Queen of Laundry" in our household, I am constantly having these boxes sitting around because I think I will alter them for something.  You know you always need something to throw away on Wednesday.  So this time, since I'm waking up in a brand new world each and every day, I decided to make a box to hold my mail.  (I can't seem to keep up with our water bill).

I cut the box to the height I wanted then used a saucer to mark the space I wanted to cut out on the front of the box.  Next I set about cutting paper to glue to the box, and let's just say this is not my strong point, so I used a little Ranger Distress Ink on the edges.  I used Mod Podge to glue the paper and then a coat over the top of the paper.  I used hot glue to glue the trim.  Oh yes, I also painted the inside of the box with acrylic paint.

The next time I do one of these I might add some flowers or other points of interest, but let's face it....this one is going to hold mail.

Well that is about it for me this morning.  I hope you have some time to do something creative today.  Have a wonderful day and take some trash and make a treasure!

Heartfelt Creations Wednesday......

Good morning everyone, I hope you are getting your day started and I am so happy you were able to come visit with me this morning.  Welcome to Heartfelt Creations Wednesday!  I love doing tags, even though I think they are labor intensive.  I always spend more time and use more techniques when I'm doing a tag and it always takes me longer to do one, but I love the idea of them.  They can be a gift and a tag all rolled up into one!  So when I think about it, it is not so much work after all.

On my tag I used the following products from Heartfelt Creations

HCPC 3419 Holiday Poinsettia Candle PreCut Set
HCPC 3415 Petite Poinsettia PreCut Set
HCPC 3428 Script Christmas Tree PreCut Set

Then of course there was Ranger Distress Inks, shimmer sprays, lace and Spellbinders dies all involved in the making of this one!  I always say some blood, sweat and a few tears, but I really mean lots of love.
If you are interested in all the specifics of the card just go to Heartfelt Creations blog.  There you can see all the beautiful creations everyone did this week and all the supplies and instructions are listed there as well.

I hope you enjoy my tag and get a chance to try one or two yourself.  You know Christmas is coming and you need to start thinking about it.  A tag is so nice to tuck down inside a gift bag going to a friend!

Have a great day...go forth and create!

Ink used in embossing folder
Gold embossed sentiment
stripped paper

I have to say, I like this one a little better...I'm beginning to take hold on this Christmas thing!  You want to come visit...we'll bake cookies!

Well that is about it for me today...remember, no matter where you are or whatever you are doing...try and take a moment just for you and breathe!

Monday Morning....

Good morning everyone.  I'm having a little trouble getting motivated this morning.  Even though I no longer work on a job outside the home, Monday still holds that dreaded feeling of something lost; the weekend just flew by and now it is time to get back to the cinderella chores.

This morning I want to share a card I made to enter into the challenge over at Joan's Gardens.  You can go there and click on the tab at the top of her page and see what this is all about.  This week Joan and Selma are asking for the following things on a card:

Create a Christmas Card
Create an embossed background using Selma's technique http://selmasstampingcorner.blogspot.com/2011/09/joans-gardens-weekly-challenge-2.html
Use stripped paper
Gold emboss sentiment

I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder and took my brayer and put green ink on the folder then added my paper and ran it through my Cuttlebug.  I'm not really good at this technique, but I was pretty impressed with how it turned out.  I used a Spellbinders die to frame the sentiment and used gold embossing powder.  The sentiment is from Heartfelt Creations.  I used my new Spellbinders die for the bird cage and another one for the stand.  I used Ranger distress ink to add some interest to the die cuts.  A little spit, glue and Scor-Tape (just kidding) I only used glue and Scor-Tape and your card is ready to go!

I'm still having trouble making Christmas Cards when it is still so warm outside.  I know it is time...I just need a little push!

Well that is it for me this morning...I'm off to get my day started and hopefully I will have a little time to "Breathe".  Hope you can have some quality time just for you today!

Supplies:  Spellbinders dies, Heartfelt Creations sentiment, gold embossing powder, glue, Scor-Tape, Ranger Distress Ink, Mary Ann Embossing Folder from Cuttlebug, Stampin Up Ink in Wild Wasabi

Christmas Window

Good morning everyone!  Can you believe it's Friday already?  This morning I want to share another card I made for Heartfelt Creations.

My Card size is 5 X 7 and done on a red card stock base.  I used a piece of Canson watercolor paper and embossed it with the Cuttlebug Madison embossing folder and then used a craft knife to cut out parts of the embossed area to show the red card stock underneath.  It has been some time since I have done this cutting technique and I must say, It takes a very steady hand and you need to practice.  I don't know if I will be trying this again.  My hands just don't want to cooperate.  I wove ribbon and made the wreath and then I stamped the sentiment on Canson watercolor paper and cut it out using  Spellbinders Fancy Tags Three.
I taped it down making it bow out some and give the card a little dimension.

I was very pleased with how this card turned out.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Well that is about it for me this morning!  Have a wonderful weekend and remember no matter where you wind up or what you are doing...take a moment and "Breathe".

Supplies:  HCPC 3428 Script Christmas Tree PreCut Set, Spellbinders Fancy Tags Three, Cuttlebug Madison embossing folder, red and green ribbon, Scor-Tape, Zip Dry Glue, craft knife, Memento ink, red card stock and Canson watercolor paper

WOYWW #119

Good morning everyone!  I'm doing this post on Tuesday afternoon and scheduling it to go live early in the morning so I can get everything done that has to happen on Wednesdays.  Keep your fingers crossed for me that this works the way it is supposed to!

Well, here it is finally.....my new desk for my craft room.  My husband did some refinish work on it, as it had been sitting in our basement for several years, just alone and forgotten.  When I started talking about wanting to use it, my husband was hesitant because he felt it would cramp my style (too much clutter) in the room.  I just kept nagging on it and he finally started to work on it.  It sat in our garage for two months and each weekend he would do one little thing.  I swear, I thought I was going to have to finish it myself; but he finally got it ready...And can I just say, It does sit out in the floor and I do have to walk around it, but I love, love, love it!!!  Another flat surface to fill up and don't you think I did a good job at that!    The second picture is of a triple dresser that holds a world of crafting supplies, ribbons, laces, junk...er....tidbits!  All those little things you just can't live without.  I bought  new spice display at Lowes and it is holding some of my most used punches...then my Copic Markers, My radio a lamp and a card display area.  Just off in the corner you can see one of the lamps for my photo tent.  Ah yes, the box I'm working on...I'm in the process of altering a cigar box.  I using dark browns and blacks and next I will be making some manly flowers and "stuff" for the top.  I haven't made up my mind yet what will actually go on top.

Well now you have seen a small part of my mess today.  I refuse to show the rest!  Just use your imagination!
Now I'm off to see what everyone else has done today.

But before I forget, if you are wondering why I've showed you this mess, it is Julia's fault!  Just go over to her blog Stamping Ground and you can read all about this addiction so many of us share across the globe.  Yes, my name is Glenda and I'm a paper addict!

Joan's Gardens Card Challenge #1

Good afternoon everyone!  I know it is rather late for me today, but better late than never.  I have had a couple of deadlines to meet and I really wanted to do this card so I could participate in Joan's Gardens' Challenge.

Here are the requirements for the challenge:

■Use two different Embossing Folders to create a background like in Selma's card. (Directions will be on Selma's blog)

■Use at least two different dies (preferably not layered dies - if you have them)
■Use a sentiment
■Use glitter and/or pearls

Once your card is finished you need to post it on your blog and then link it at Joan's Gardens blog.  When you get to her blog, there is a button at the top of the page; just click on the challenge button and then you can link your entry at the bottom of the page.

I think I have all the bases covered on this one and am so happy that Joan and Selma have decided to continue with their weekly challenges!  I always enjoy being a part of these.

Well this is short and sweet, I still have a couple of things that just have to happen today.  So I'm off to see if I can make it so!

If the Broom Fits.......

Good morning everyone!  I hope your week is getting off to a good start and that you have wonderful things planned.

This morning I'm here to share another Halloween card that I made using a little Magnolia Image and bits and pieces of things I just had laying around.  The image is colored using Ranger Distress inks  and it is mounted onto a card using bits and pieces of paper I had laying around from another card I made.  I added glitter to the broom and the hat band, but of course when you want bling to show up it just will not!  Also the corner pieces are from flocked and glittered paper and none of that shows either, so you will just have to take my word for it.  Bright green ribbon and some dew drops just round out the card and finish it off.   I should have taken my title and made it into a sentiment and attached it to the front of this card.  I may do that yet!

Hope you enjoy my card!  Today is Monday and sometimes can be a very stressful day, so no matter where you wind up or what you have to do, take a moment and "Breathe"!

I Will Never Forget.......

Today marks the 10 year anniversary of 911 and this morning as I sit here in my craft room sipping my coffee and deciding what I want to do today, I remember...  My husband was scheduled for knee replacement surgery that day and we arose very early to make the drive to Knoxville.  As the morning progressed I was sent to the waiting room for a lengthy wait while my husband had his surgery.  I was beginning to get sleepy and so I got a fresh cup of coffee and settled in front of the TV sitting in the corner of the waiting room.  I remember thinking, who did this anchor woman's hair this morning...Katie someone should tell you that doesn't suite you..then I noticed the look on her face and what was actually being said and I grabbed for the remote to turn up the sound.  Images of the planes striking the buildings will be embedded in my mind for the rest of my life!  People began gathering around me, some crying, some shouting, but I just sat there in disbelief of what I was witnessing!  As the day wore on and in the days that followed, as my husband recovered, I sat glued to the TV.  I watched day and night as there was very little to do for him for the first few days.  September 11, 2001 was on a Tuesday and on Thursday, my husband came around from the huge amounts of pain medications and asked what had happened.  As I told the story, he watched in horror the images still being shown on the TV.  Soon he asked me to turn it off, he just couldn't watch anymore.  But while he slept, I still watched.  I sat in that hospital for 4 days and watched history being made.

My grandson, soon to be 14, was too little and will not be able to remember any of the story, but I can tell him my story about where I was and what I was doing when I got the news.  My own grandmother was born in 1900 and used to tell me wonderful stories about the things she had seen over the years, the first electric light in her town, the first car, the first telephone, the first picture show......all such accomplishments...
My story is one of horror and death and heros and determination, new beginnings and also new life.  I will NEVER forget!

Where did this week go.......

Good Friday morning everyone.  I told you this week was going to just fly by.  Suddenly I looked up and it is Friday and everyone is getting ready for another weekend!  I feel like I'm behind this week.  I spent a day or two just pulling things out of a cabinet in my craft room and throwing away things I had been holding onto for years.  I actually went through my paper scrap bin and cut down many many pieces of paper and card stock.  No I'm not all neat and organized but I just got tired and quit.  Maybe another day.

This morning I have a card to share that I made several months ago and I don't believe I have shared it before.  It is actually one of the cards I did to enter the design team call for Heartfelt Creations.

This watering can is one of my favorite images and I love the flowers just spilling over it.  I used HCPC 3306 Posy Patch Garden Delights PreCut Set, HCD 702 Butterfly Corners Die Cuts, and Spellbinders Squares dies.  You can find all these products at Heartfelt Creations as well as all their beautiful images.
I stamped the image onto watercolor paper and colored with distress inks.  Cut out the image with the squares die and edged in distress ink.  Next I cut out the corner motifs and glued them to the corners of the square.  I took half pearls and colored them with a Copic marker to match the colors used on the image.  The background paper is  homemade using pearlized paint and distress ink.  My finished card measures 6" X 6".

Well ladies, that is about it for me this morning.  I hope you have a great day planned and that everything goes your way.  As for me, not many chores going on today, so I should have some more time in my craft room.  I'm seriously needing some play time and hope to have that today!  No matter what you have going on or where you find yourself, just try and take a moment just for you and "Breathe"!

Another Heartfelt Creations Wednesday!

Good morning ladies, hope you are getting your day started.  Here at my house, it is Heartfelt Creations Wednesday and I'm so excited to share my card with you.  I have been having so much fun working with these wonderful stamps and I love how this card turned out.  The products I used from Heartfelt Creations are HCPC 3407 Botanical Floral 2 PreCut Set and HCPC 3312 Uplifting Scriptures Precut Set.  Of course there are some Spellbinders dies used because I can't seem to do a card without them.

If you want the specifics on this card you can go over to the Heartfelt Creations blog and get all supplies and instructions.  While you are there, be sure and have a good look around.  The design team has some wonderful creations for you this week.  Also you can visit each of the design team's blogs by clicking on their names in the right hand column of my blog.  There will be lots of inspiration for you, I promise!

Well that is about it for me this morning.  If you enjoy my card, please leave me a comment.  I love hearing from you!  Have a great day and we will talk again soon!

WOYWW #118

Well ladies, another week has just gone flying by and it is again time to share a tiny little bit of my mess with you.  Each week we all converge over at Julia's blog and link our pictures of our work desk.  I've always been a little timid about showing the real me and letting the world know just how big a mess I really am.  So here we go, this is my space this week!  I've been working on a card or two and have quite a few things pulled out to play.  I've been cutting some areas out of a embossed paper and can I just say, my poor hand is not very steady any more!  So probably this will be my last attempt at this particular technique!  I know practice makes perfect, but sheesh....I don't think that will help me at all.

Why don't you go on over to Julia's house and take a look around at some of the links.  It's quite wonderful to be able to see what everyone has going on.  It's a classic "I'll show you mine, if you will show me yours"!
Now I'm off to see what everyone else has going on.  So grap a cup of coffee and settle in and have a look around!

You Mean so Much to Me.....

Good morning everyone!  I hope you had a wonderful long holiday weekend!  We totally enjoyed it in our household.  Much needed rest and lots of crafting for me!  I spent two days just playing...you know....trying new papers, colors, ribbons, etc. just to see how it works!  I had so much fun and learned a lot of tricks for using some of the products I already own.  I hate to keep spending when I have lots of things that I need to use before I buy more.  Well, as I'm saying this, my card does use one new thing I purchased.  I just couldn't resist this new embossing folder!  It is a Cuttlebug folder (Madison)  I just love it and you will be seeing it many different ways in the coming days!  I love the iron works look and feel to it; and I also enjoy making white on white cards.  I stamped my sentiment on watercolor paper and cut out using a Spellbinders Fancy Tags Two die and popped it up just a little to add a little dimension.  I just didn't want it to totally blend in with the background.  My little butterfly is from Martha Stewart and once I punched it, I added stickles to give it a little glitz!  My sentiment is from Heartfelt Creations and the item number is:  HCPC 3382 Magnificent Cardinal Rose PreCut Set.

I love the way the card turned out!  Simple but still quite elegant and could be used for a woman or a  man.  I left the inside of the card blank so I can write a note when I mail this one.

Well I think this is all for me today.  Be sure and check back tomorrow because, believe it or not, it will be Heartfelt Creations Wednesday.  We will be zooming right through this week!  I hope you have a great day and that the sun shines wherever you are!  Be sure and take a moment out just for you and "Breathe"!

Birdhouse.....

Let me begin by saying I'm sorry for the lopsided photo!  I wanted to take the picture at an angle and boy did I ever!   I have been visiting YouTube lately looking for new ideas and I came across some of the most gorgeous bird houses!  So I found myself a free download and made my very first little bird house!  They are the perfect size for making ornaments to hang on your tree.  I found some other templates and will probably do some for my girls as well as myself for the holidays.  This one is sort of Shabby Chic and I love the way it turned out.  I painted the roof green and then used Ranger Distress Crackle Paint in Picket Fence and I did some of that on the front also.  Lots of Wild Orchid Crafts flowers and leaves and some beads and a little key painted to match and it is ready to go.  I like this idea as you can make each one your own depending on how you choose to decorate.  Why don't you find your own download and make one for yourself or maybe two!

Have a wonderful day and try to find some time to be creative!
