What's on Your Workdesk? Wednesday #134....

Happy Wednesday everyone!  Now if you are wondering what in the world I'm doing here showing you a picture of my desk.....Well it's Julia's fault!  She created this monster and I'm totally addicted!  Every Wednesday bloggers all over the world take a picture of what they have going on and post to Julia's blog and then we can visit each other's blog and see what is happening all over the world.  There are card makers, painters, altered artists.....whatever you do as a craft is fine.  Just show us what you are doing.

As you can see I've been coloring images.  I love using the distress re-inkers and brushes to color and shade in images.  I'm always on the look out for images that work well with this technique.  And I'm always looking for tutorials for this too.  I'm not an accomplished artist and I am a visual learner so I love to see the cards posted by those who use this technique.  I have some Copic markers, but I just never took to them.  I can blend colors so much better with the distress inks.  I guess you could say they are my "Thing".

Well that is about it for me this morning!  I'm off to Julia's blog to visit every one's entry.  Look out bloggers, here I come!

Hi there Glenda do love your method of storing the drops of ink for your colouring and yes think they definitely are your thing.
I use anything to colour and sometimes more than one method at a time ie the card today was done with Tombow Watercolour Makers, Copic, and Chalks all on one tiny image! weird huh! love your image. . Happy WOYWW! Love, Shaz in Oz. x #24

Know what Glenda, you have inspired me to give colouring with Distress Inks like you do a try. I too cannot cope well with the Co pics - just don't get the technique right.
Lovely big jar of brushes you have there and the card looks real cute.
Hugs and best wishes for 2012 , Neet x

It is fun to see what is on someone else's workspace. I have never colored with Distress Inks. Very cool technique and you do such a nice job on all your projects!

I love your coloured images. You obviously have found the knack with the distress inks. I enjoy colouring too but I mostly use copics. I have just started an on-line watercolour course, so I may be giving paints and inks another try soon. Kate x

Always love your cute images and your coloring is quite mastered in my book. I've no patience for it, but it's on my list. Sometimes I think my lighting is not good enough. Or the eyes are bad!!!!
Kinda a quiet day, wind and cooler but so far no snow..
Enjoy the countdown to 2012..

Great way to use the inks without waste. I'm a 'can't get on with Copics' gal too, just not my thang. But actually, colouring generally isn't, Idonthave think, so am very admiring of your patience and quality with the inks.

dont know why you think you need tutorials your colouring looks fab. I dont really get copics either. I mostly use aqua promarkers for colouring.... just like watercolours and they mix together.

Your coloring is wonderful! I never heard of that technique before for coloring, but you certainly have perfected it.

Wow! You can see your desk top! That's way too neat, Glenda. LOL hmm never thought to use a dobber box to storage ink drops. What do you have in the bottom of the sections? I never took to Copics either, love my H2O's so thought I'd tried reinkers.

I've just started coloring with the distressed inks, what type of images do you find work best for this type of coloring?

Your coloring is Amazing! I am a copic girl myself, but it is probably a coke vs. pepsi type thing (or a what adhesive works best thing...LOL!). Thanks for sharing your space. Have a very crafty and happy New Year! -Amanda #9

If you like doing it then do it the way you like ey! And looking at some of your cards which I just had a nosey at, you do it well! Those cards below are gorgeous. And as for your two little doggies they are super cute.
Thanks for your visit, I am glad you did as it ensured I came to visit you!

I am like you in that I never took to the copics...don't know whether it is cause I am to cheap to plunk down the money (and I want them all at once) or if they are as hard to use as I think they are!!! Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog this week. I really enjoy hearing what you have to say! Have a Happy New year! Vickie #10

Distress inks are my favourite and using reindeers is keel too but I usually swipe the pad on my craft mat and pick up the ink with my water brush. I also tried Copics on a visit to the US and didn't,tike them. I prefer pro markers. Have a great weekend.

I love to water colour with DI's too, although I still have a lot to learn! Squirrel has joined in with WOYWW for this first time this week, she has tutorials and a gallery of images on her blog of how she does it. I never even tried Copics, I looked at the price of them for how many you'd need and decided my money was better spent elsewhere! Have a wonderful New Year.
