No Card Today.....

I know this looks like my Wednesday post, but trust me it is different.  I have not been working on cards for a couple of days.  I've been sorting and trashing some stuff out of my craft room that just had to go.  Also I'm making boxes for some of the cards I'm going to mail so they will be protected a little during shipment.  All this takes time away from the things that I love, but they are a necessary evil around here.  Sometimes you just have to put the good stuff aside and do the mundane.  I find I get bored with these things really quickly, but the last two days, I'm sticking to my guns and getting all these things out of the way.  Then we can play again.

I went to a couple of yard sales here yesterday and found a few things to alter.  I was really looking for an old wedding dress or some old wind up watches that I could take apart and use on my boxes.  It was just not meant to be.  But the pieces I found were really inexpensive and should work up nicely.  I will be showing pictures as I do them.  So hang in there with me and hopefully I'll have a piece to show you in a day or so.

Our summer days are coming to a close.  I'm happy to see cooler temps come our way.  The trees have begun dropping leaves already.  Someone said it was because of the heat we have had this year.  I hope there are enough left to have the beautiful colors we are used to here in East Tennessee.  Mother nature can really put on a show around here when she wants to.  Can you tell, I just love this area of the country.  I guess I'm a southern girl through and through!

Well that is about it for me this morning.  I hope you have a wonderful day and do something crafty.  Remember no matter where you are or what you are doing to take just a moment and "Breathe"

You are doing exactly what I need to be doing. I have so much I need to part with. I just purchased a few new little cabinets to help organize things I use a lot. Now I need to find room to put them! Our summer was late in coming and we are having some pretty warm days. Hope to get to enjoy the warm weather for a while longer.

Funny our days are somewhat the same. I started yesterday to pitch and throw, needed to redo the whole lower level.
Then again..same shopping and old wedding dress inexpensive kinda hard to find...also been looking. Your boxes are a great idea, I've a couple done but then I make the card tooooooo big//brain dead.
Enjoy the weekend. don't time just fly?

I am always cleaning up my craft room. It would have to be idle for more than a day to stay as neat as yours. I too love the fall time of year, but here I have to finish summer first. LOL!Have a fun Friday!

You've reminded me that I need to get off my butt and do a little cleaning and decluttering around here! It's something I put off until I'm tripping over things.
Glad to hear your temperatures are starting to get a little nicer. I love the fall, and can't wait for it to get here. I just hope winter's nice and late this year!

I've been doing a lot of that, too. Well, not making boxes, but organizing and working on storage solutions. Seems like I've got several things underway but nothing finished. True, stamping is more fun, but these things need to be done. Good luck with your projects!
