Another Beautiful Weekend.....

HAPPY SATURDAY!..... Good morning everyone....it is finally the weekend...we made it.  With all the intense storms moving through the area this week I wasn't so sure.  For awhile there I thought we might wake up in Kansas!  We went to bed right in the middle of the storms and asked God to watch over us through the night...the storms raged and we slept and the worst passed over us and landed north of us.

This morning I want to share another Heartfelt Creations item I made.

This is a wall hanging I did using Spellbinders dies and HCPC 3389 Sentiments For Mom and HCD 703 Daisy Patch Die from  Heartfelt Creations .  You can visit their site and I'm sure you will find something that you just can't live without!  Their stamps are such good quality and they are so very pretty and can be used no matter what your style.  I cut out the flowers with the die and colored the centers then sprayed with Pearl Ex spray.  Then I embossed them and added Flower Soft to the centers.

I hope you enjoy this, I'm really pleased with the way it turned out.  Have a wonderful weekend and remember to "Breathe"!!

Altered Tin

Actually this is not really a tin...it is a bread crumb box that I salvaged and put away for just such an occasion.  I'm finding that I truly love altering things to make them useful again and this little baby could hold some cookies or a small gift for a dear friend.  I used free digi paper to cover the outside and edged the paper in Victorian Velvet Distress Ink and then glued it to the tin.  Then I just started adding things out of my stash to pretty it up.  It is labor intensive and I won't go into too many details but I used Spellbinders Dies, Wild Orchid Crafts flowers, glass pearls, lace, Martha Stewart butterfly and lots and lots of glue!

I hope this makes you want to do one of these.  They are not difficult at all, just time consuming; but the results can be anything you want them to be.  I find lately, I keep gravitating back to pinks and greens...I'm not sure why but I think pinks are becoming my favorite color!

It'sWednesday, and Everything I Got Hurts!

So I woke up this morning and "Arthur" has come to visit...my fingers hurt, my back hurts, my feet hurt....you get the picture!  I did manage to make it to the coffee pot and get a cup of coffee and some pills and I'm sure, I'll be back on track shortly.

This morning I want to share another card I made for Heartfelt Creations.  This is my third posting with the new DT and I'm really enjoying working with their stamps.  I can tell already that this 6 months is going to go by way too quickly!  I'm having so much fun and I'm learning so much already...there is so much talent on this team!  You can see  a sampling of my work, as well as the rest of the DT here at the Heartfelt Creations blog.  If you would like to visit the other members of the DT and check out their blogs you can do so by clicking on their name in the listing on the right hand side of my blog.  While you are there, be sure and leave them a comment.  I'm sure they would love to have you visit and have a look around!

If you are wondering what the heck is going on here; just head on over to Julia's Blog and have a little look around.  Each Wednesday Julia hosts this crazy, addictive, get together and everyone links a picture of their work space.  Then you can visit all the blogs you wish to and see what everyone is doing in their own little world!  You can see all kinds of projects, all kinds of messiness, like mine, and frankly I just love looking around!  You can get some great ideas for storage and also some projects.  So if you are feeling a little froggy come join us!  But again I warn you, do this at your own risk, because it is addictive!

I don't have too much going on today...I'm working on an altered tin and trying to decide on what kind of floral things to put on the top.  Also the sides of the can "Need Something" and I've not quite decided what to do with all that open space.  But if I look at it long enough it will come to me.  I'm working with Wild Orchid Crafts flowers and some copper metallic paint and Pearl Ex of course...some glossy accents .  I'm not really into the messy stage just yet...just making decisions.  Once that is done, the fun starts and the paper and tape get to flying.  I'll take a picture of that for next week's WOYWW!

Have a great day and I'm off to visit!

Happy Easter Everyone.....

I know, I know...it isn't really Easter until tomorrow, but I decided if I wanted to get this in I would have to get a head start!  Life is just happening all over the place these days and this old broad is having a hard time keeping up.  But I really do have good intentions!  I was making this card and realized that I hadn't done a card for the challenge over at Joan's Gardens so I did a little creative adjustment and sort of came up with what she suggested for her challenge.  You can get the details on her blog. (White and Gold, Embossing, Little or no Embellishments, an Easter Card).  My card is sort of, kinda like....what she said.  Sorry Joan!

Now that I have uploaded this picture, I notice I smudged the gold a little!  Well just pretend like you didn't notice, Ok?  I just love this little Tilda and just had to make an Easter card with her.  I hope you enjoy and remember to take a little time for yourself today and Breathe!

Remember This?

Remember last Spring?  There was a lot of whinning going on here...So much painting to do and will I never get this finished.  Well it got finished and the porch railing too!  So why am I bringing this up?  Because there is a world of chores left for me to do before I have this place whipped into shape for the summer.  I need to paint the shutters on the house, the porch floor and the rocking chairs...also the garage door is calling my name too.  Thank goodness I don't have to paint that fence every year.  What a chore that is.

I have been pulling weeds until my back screamed and laying down bark chips and feeding plants so they can bloom beautifully.  And can I just say, the grass in East Tennessee is growing like gang busters...I swear I could mow three times a week (if I would).   Does anyone need a gardner?  I work cheap...room and board is all I need and I love being outside.

So bear with me as I continue to do my rubbin and scrubbin and it will be over before you know it and I will be back playing in my craft room and posting  daily like a good blogger should!  Don't forget about me and move on.  I will be back! (said in my best Arnold voice).

Heartfelt Creations Wednesday......

Good morning ladies. It's Wednesday and time to share another Heartfelt Creations card! But first I'd like to congratulate Marilyn (newfiecrafter) who won the new Spring Cardinal Release ! I know she is so excited!

I'm kinda partial to this one...reds are very difficult to work with and wouldn't you know, the first stamps I receive are all Cardinals.  Well my coloring skills are lacking so please be kind...I'm really trying to get these beautiful birds to look like they are supposed to.  So I have been doing the old practice, practice, practice.  My poor brain is taxed to the max!
My card is 5 1/2" X 5 1/2"

Cut Mariposa paper 5 1/4 X 5 1/4 and glue to card base. Stamp image onto white cardstock and colored with Copic markers. Add glitter to small amount of white glue and add to edges of the roses for a little glimmer. Cut out the Cardinal with die and used Zots to raise it for dimension. Cut the Parisian Motif out of watercolor paper and glued to card then added the image to that. Cut the border from Parisian Motif Dies and glued to the bottom of the card. My seam binding was colored with Distress Ink and scrunched to make it look old. I pulled a thread to gather the seam binding and then glued to the top of the border. I tied a double bow from the seam binding and glued to the border also. The inside of the card has the sentiment stamped in black and cut out with Fancy Tags Two. I added a pearl for interest.

Tilda in Yellow.....

Ladies of a certain age (I mean old ladies like me) remember having an Easter Outfit to wear to Church on Sunday.  This is still a tradition today, but when I was a girl, you got black patent leather shoes, lacy socks, a frilly dress, white gloves and to top it all off an Easter Bonnet!  This little Tilda just reminds me of those days and I just had to have her.  You don't see many people wearing hats these days, I can't tolerate them and the white gloves are just not done anymore.....so here is my little Tilda with her Easter Bonnet!

My image was stamped onto watercolor paper and colored with Ranger Distress Inks.  A couple of layers, some pretty paper.....a butterfly cut out of paper and some yellow ribbon of course!  Pretty simple really.

Monday has rolled around and I'm hoping you have had a glorious weekend!  Our weather was improving all weekend and today is supposed to be wonderful with temps in the 70's and lots of sun!  So enjoy your day and I'm hoping you have a beautiful day wherever you are!

Grunge Tag......

Good morning ladies!  I hope you are doing well....things have been a whirlwind here this past week and I didn't get to play much in my craft room.  The new DT has kept me busy; but I'm not complaining.  It has been so much fun receiving my first box of goodies and deciding what to do with them and I even got to meet one of the DT...it turns out Lisa Lynne Wright is a native of this area and she was coming home to visit and I got to have lunch with her on Wednesday.  It was a wonderful experience and I had so much fun....Thanks Lisa!

Then of course, we have still had Spring Clean-up going on and then we had a couple of days of storms, rain, and lots of wind.  Just about blew all the blossoms off our Dogwoods!  And then yesterday, our Niki (our 11 year old Pug) has an abscessed tooth.  So we were scrambling for a vet, as our usual vet was out of town.  She got treatment and is doing much better.  We will continue to give meds for several days and if this doesn't clear up there will have to be some surgery.

So you can see what has been going on in my life. Not a lot of creative juices flowing....but I did manage to do a tag yesterday afternoon.

I used lots of Ranger distress Ink, some bronze embossed swirls and some Spellbinders dies for my medallion and the tag.   Lots of my own Pearl Ex Sprays that I stir up myself using Gum Arabic and Pear Ex was used to add shimmer.  It also softens the colors some so my tag has a look all it's own.  Also I distressed the edges of the tag .

I hope you enjoy this....I think I will enter it over at Joan's Gardens joanscreations.blogspot.com
Now I'm off to visit some of my favorite blogs this morning and then later, we are going to our local home improvement store to purchase pine bark nuggets and some cedar bedding for our dogs.  I'm hoping to find some flowers too!  Sounds like I will have another busy week ahead of me!

The Springtime Cardinal Collection features 8 new PreCut Sets. These new sets coordinate with existing exclusive Heartfelt Creations dies manufactured by Spellbinders. The images in this collection are very classic and elegant, perfect for your copic markers, and you will love the fact that they coordinate with some of the existing Heartfelt Creation dies, so this is an added value for some of the dies you might already own.

Leave a comment on my blog or the Heartfelt Creations Blog by April 19 and one lucky person will win the entire release valued at $119.92. The winner will be announced on the HC blog on April 20.

Card Size: 5 1/8 X 6 1/8

I cut a 5 X 6 piece of watercolor paper and stamped my image with Black Tuxedo Memento Ink. I colored the image with Distress Inks. Once dry, I cut out around the image so that I could slide my Oval Spellbinders Die under the image and cut out using my Grand Calibur. I cut 1/8" strips of watercolor paper and adhered them to the back of the lower part of the oval. I did this to help create an effect and to help frame the sentiment. I centered and stamped the sentiment using Memento ink. I added pearls around the oval edge and tied a yellow ribbon and adhered it with Zip Dry Glue. I cut out the Parisian Accent corners from watercolor paper and glued them down then added a pearl to each of them. When the glue was dry I used score tape to adhere my layer to a piece of folded blue card stock.

That's about it for me this morning.  Don't forget to leave a comment here or over on the Heartfelt Creations Blog.  You just might win this whole collection!

Good Wednesday morning everyone!  Hope you are doing well!  Since it is Wednesday, it is time to share what is on your workdesk.  If you are a little confused about this just head on over to Julia's Blog and have a little look around.  Julia has a place for us to post pictures of our workdesk each week and then we can visit other blogs around the world and see what everyone is doing.  This is so addictive and I must admit that I'm not looking for a 12-step program to help me get over it...I'm just wallowing in it each week!

Once again, I'm sort of in between projects....I don't know how that happens every Wednesday, but it does.  You can see some of my new goodies I just received from Cuttlebug and Spellbinders.  Lots of stuff pushed back around my ever faithful cup of coffee...a stack of Ranger Distress Inks; have you noticed they are ever present also.  I use these on so many projects.

Now I'm off for a little look around over at Julia's.

Too Much Excitement.....

I was so excited yesterday that I forgot to show you the picture of my card that was featured on the Heartfelt Creations Blog..heartfeltcreations.us/blog   I tend to get a little befuddled when I'm so excited I could spit!

I stamped the image of flower onto cardstock and colored using Distress Inks.  When the image was dry, I added some blue ink to shade around the stalk.  The frame was made using Spellbinders Labels Four.  I used 3D Zots to add dimension.  The frame was mounted onto base card with Mariposa Designer Paper and then I cut out one of the butterflies from the paper to add to the frame.  The butterfly was popped up to add dimension.  A pink Silk ribbon tied into a bow and a 1/2 pearl added to the top of the frame and the card is ready to go.

I hope you enjoy this; I really had fun making this one.  I will be sharing more of the things I did for the finalist competition as we go along.  Be sure to go over to heartfeltcreations.us/blog and check out all the beautiful cards that are posted there.  There is a lot of talent on this Design Team and I'm in awe of all the beautiful cards that are posted there!

Good morning ladies....I've been up since before the chickens because I was excited to see if I made it to the Design Team for Heartfelt Creations!  Guess what.....I MADE IT!  I fretted all day long yesterday, I was expecting an email from them letting us know ahead of time, but those ladies at Heartfelt Creations know how to keep a secret!  This morning there was an email announcing new releases and when I went over to their blog to check it out, there was my name on the list.  Well you could have knocked me over with a feather!  My Journey is taking a new direction, so please share it with me.  There is so much talent on this Design Team that I am humbled to be selected to be a part of it!  I so look forward to working with everyone and sharing some wonderful stamps with you in the coming months!

I have been doing some cleaning...there was a huge amount of bits of paper and dust bunnies lingering on top of my desk and I did some re-arranging to get more light from the window.  There are some supplies that I got this week.  Some new glass pearls and some corner dies that I have waited impatiently for a month to receive and a little medallion I'm working on for a card or tag, I don't know which yet.    Also some new spritz bottles I found at Wal Mart!  Now I can mix more Pearl Ex sprays!  The little stack in the first picture is Pearl Ex made up as paint to use to paint flower petals!  I also received my very first bottle of Zip Dry Paper Glue...it fell over so it doesn't show up in the picture!  Well ladies, that is it for me....I'm off to visit the other  bloggers who are particiapting this week!

My New Tag....

Each week Joan over at Joan's Gardens has a tag challenge...the idea being that we have a jump on the tags we made need for the year.  I have really been enjoying this challenge and this week I have another tag to share!  I started with a Manila tag and sprayed it with my Pearl Ex sprays using several colors (purple, teal and gold) and then I stamped and embossed swirls with copper embossing powder.  I used a Tim Holtz die birdcage and cut it down to fit the tag, then embossed it with gold and copper and I left some open spaces to add some distress inks.  My butterfly is a cut-out stamp that has been sprayed and glitzed to death!  Hand made flowers and cut-outs with dies and everything was sprayed with Pearl Ex sprays....I just love this stuff!  then I added little pearls to the flowers and some stringed pink pearls to accent everything.  I hope you enjoy this tag, I really love how it turned out.  Its all ready to be slid down into a gift bag and sent along to a dear friend! And before I forget...some seam binding sprayed to match the colors in the tag!

A Birthday Card.....

Good morning everyone.  I hope you are set to have a wonderful weekend!  This morning I wanted to share a card I have made to enter in Joan's Gardens Weekly Card Challenge #12.   You can visit Joan's blog here:  joanscreations.blogspot.com she has all the details posted if you would like to play along.  Please forgive the photo....no matter how I twisted and turned the card, I still got a shine on the photo.  That's what happens when you use a shimmer paint.  I'm sure there is a way to combat this, but I don't have a clue.

Inside of the card.....

I made a window card using a Spellbinders Die and decorated with flowers of different colors.  My card Base is just some acrylic shimmer paint mixed with some Victorian Velvet  Distress Ink and dabbed onto the cardstock using seran wrap.    My cameo is a free picture from the Internet.  I kept sizing it until I had the perfect size to use the Spellbinders Oval frame I made.  Did you spy my new tag die from Spellbinders?  I just love these and use Spellbinders on most everything I do.  This one is from Fancy Tags Two.  My paper on this is a free digi that I used Victorian Velvet to sponge onto the wrinkles after I scrunched it up.

I hope you enjoy this card!  Now go play and enjoy the weekend!  I want to thank everyone for their kind wishes for Maggie....She is much better and almost back to her old self.
